Huge help, no welder but been in the trades 25 years and well versed. I’ve always loved picking the welders brains and given it a go a few times. Picked this welder up to fabricate some aluminum and now playing with the other capabilities. This was a great video and really helped dial it in, thanks bud!
Weld look good for first time stick weld. I also purchase the Yes welder mig 250 pro last year and have not used it yet or tried the stick feature from it. Will buy the stick and will give it a try.
I have big hands and I feel like the electrode holder is a toy on the ArcPro165. I also do lots of hobby stuff on my channel and only used the yeswelder 2 or 3 times. I'm impressed on how light the machine is. I used a 6" pipe for my vise stand. I might give their Tig Machine a try.
One of my favorite YesWelder machines is the TIG 250P. It's small and light but powerful enough to weld anything I need to weld. It also has a temp controlled fan so it's not screaming the whole time it's on. I really like it's smooth and stable low amperage arc. YesWelder has some nice discounts being offered at the moment so it's a good time to pick one up if you're serious about getting one. You may also be able to get a 10% discount buy using the code DIYHP10% at checkout if the machine you want is not on sale. I am a sub to your channel and I really like your build videos. Nice work! So, you've reviewed both the 250Amp AC/DC TIG Aluminum Welder With Pulse and the PrimeWeld TIG225X AC/DC TIG Welder With Pulse. If they both cost the same, which would you choose between these two?
I prefer the YesWelder TIG 250P AC/DC. I really like the digital control interface over all the control pots. I'm also a big fan of the temperature controlled fan over the constant loud fans of the PW.
I used 120 amps and 6 on the inductance. I show the settings I used in this short video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5HDDUYhCRP0.html
You can run 6013 on this welder? The manual says only 7018. I just bought this welder but something doesn’t seem right. The manual says only 1/8” 7018 rods can be used but aint 1/8” rods only good for about 160 amps? The specs on welder says the machine is capable of 220 or 225 amps on stick welding mode so something not adding up
Yes you can run 6013 on this welder. You can run many different sizes and types of rods on this welder. Most if not all stick welders will run a 6013 rod including this machine.
Something is NOT right! Today I did some testing on this machine with a calibrated DC amp meter. On stick welding mode the max this machine would go to is 193amps.. Even though the display said 225 which is the max it will go to on stick mode. Now thats plenty for say a 5/32nd 7018. Then on MIG mode for Aluminum (synergy) it will go to 210A (display says 250). But on all the steel modes, even manual mode the welder will only do in the 175 to 180Amp range. Now if you want to weld thicker steel you might be able weld on the AL(s) mode with 210A, but adjust the voltage bias. Strange behaviour. I also had a Tooliom welder 250-TL and its pretty clear these are exactly the same welder in a different case because it behaves the same way.
@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 I only asked because you used a mig welder to run stick. MIG welders us cc or cv. Just thought I'd ask if you could change from CV to CC for stick?
Oh I understand now. I guess technically this is a "multi process" machine and not MIG only machine. My impression is it is primarily a MIG machine but it will also do TIG and MMA as well. Sorry, I didn't mean to mislead you.
@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 No need just looked it up. Your good it's a power source for multiple applications. Great for diy projects. For a 60% duty cycle it's a nice little machine . Welds good. Keep up the good work
