Mark, I am sorry to get off today topic, but having torch issues, 8 months ago, I asked about replacing o-ring(s) on the handle of the torches body. If any type of o-ring is ok to use, that fits is ok. As an ASE Master Tech since 1978, I don't rebuild torches everyday and the design has not changed much, but chemistry has. I had a reply "Change the O-ring, it's 1/2 cent". Ok, fine, but there is simply rubber, coated rubber, HNBR and others! I was simply seeking a professional reply & got "Replace the O-Ring, it is 1/2 cent" Ok! Not very professional but more snarky as I am not 12 years old anymore. Even though I was using a torch and the old "Crank-Top" Lincoln welder on the farm. My stepdad & step-grandpa, could weld "Grapes" on everything and wonder why I broke before leaving the barn yard! I've owned a new MIG since 1984 that is larger than most Honda car engines and burns 150 amps without some mythical math! Still use it, I just have to have a 0.023" wire slot cut properly into a drive wheel roller as it is 0.030" design won't cut it on sheet metal, but I make it work. It takes spools of ER70 on 4" wide spools, 1" hole and holds 6Kg. Just big. Tip; I cheat and use a brass vise jaw cap, if I can get it behind. (Torch Problem; When adding oxygen during cutting, it pops and goes out). I have used a medium valve seat lapping compound to create a nice shinny smooth surface for mating. Compressed air, solvents to clean & repeat. Works for everything I need and it's about 1982 Craftsman's best (Possible Harrison) or one of 900 others! Any advice is appreciated by this guy! Me. Thanks.
