The most shocking part of the video was to hear that someone actually moved to Oakland.

To be fair, they kept their prices down faaaar longer than their competition. This was only a matter of time.

In and out is the only place where the teenagers are well trained and have amazing customer service skills

Coming from an ex-InNOut employee, ill choose an INO burger over other fast foods when im in a pinch financially solely based on the fact on the quality you get compared to other fast foods. You cant beat that nothing was previously frozen.

What im more bothered on are grocery prices. $200 will usually get me a topped off cart full of groceries for an entire week for a family of 5. Now I get half a cart and spend $450-$600 weekly.

Every time I go to fast food I ask the workers if the raise impacted your earning. 96% of the time they tell me they are bringing home less because their hours have been cut.

I don’t think it’s worth it. I’m staying away from fast food places.

So our governor promised higher minimum wages to a handful of ppl that cheered for him, and now they all ended up with less jobs and higher price costs for the rest of us. Nice work guys.

The quality is why I go there..and my respect for the Company for NOT SUPPORTING SLAVE LABOR. This Company will survive because they have done the right thing...Keep up quality food..You will more than survive this economy...And people will support you..Healthy people.

I live one state away 3.23 for gas 8.88 for a double double meal... you guys are gettin screwed big time!!!

That guy is part of the problem, "as long as its not over $20" People paying the high prices wont help lower anything, the same goes for housing and cars.

Not that I’d want to pay more but compared to other fast food InandOut is the GOAT. Fresh meat never frozen, Christian Values, clean and safe restroom. I’ll always support InandOut for making it important to provide for their employee family and their customer family ❤️✝️

Our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

Most of the people being interviewed are the problem. They'd be happy with $20 fast food meals?

I had In-N-Out on Saturday when the place was packed, and the drive- thru line went down the block. The price increase seemed negligible, as compared to most fast food places where you get low quality food. Nothing beats In-N-Out when comparing price vs quality.

In n Out has always paid employees well and held the line on prices, made money, and is still the best burger deal in town- any town.

The quality gap between In-N-Out and McDonalds, burger King, wendy's is unmatched.

I have never paid more for food in my lifetime. It's increased steady since 2020..

They have always paid higher than minimum wage, even more than the current $20hr. And that guy who would pay $20 for a hamburger, kinda slants the report?

Gee. Who didn't see this coming? And now, fast food,..a luxury item many can no longer afford in the state of California. Four burger meals on a Saturday outing with the family plus California's gas prices higher than the rest of the country,..... could equal up to around a hundred bucks. A hundred,....for a burger and fries and a short ride around town. Think about it. The people who run this state and those that vote for them - this is your baby. It's on YOU! Business leaving the state and prices making others think or dream about leaving. The people who pay taxes - gone. Meanwhile, the gov. has told migrants to come into cali and he'll give'em free healthcare on our dime then lies about putting the guard on the border and getting tough. You can't make this stuff up. Vote these people out. Or don't vote at all. They're killing a once awesome state.

Just moved out of California to Tennessee. I was SHOCKED to hear someone dared to move IN to California from somewhere else.

They were already paying $20+ prior to the legislation. That doesn't make sense in terms of justifying the price increase.

San Francisco is one of the most expensive cities in the entire world, this isn't surprising in the least.

This does not make sense. In Out already pays their employees more than the mandatory minimum so how is it that the law affects them?

They raised their prices back in April 1 why are they just talking about this?

I make my own burger. 8oz burger cost $2 and I make my own fries too.

When you move from GA to CA you deserve everything you have coming to you.

I love In n out and they love us and their employees. I have no problem supporting a business that supports theirs.

Fast food is luxurious junk food. Skip it, so you can live longer and healthier life.

So when they raise prices for greed no body complained but they raise it for minimum wage increase and everybody goes nuts and blames the politicians trying to help working people. I'd rather pay more for the workers pay than for the CEO to but another Ferrari.

AW heck, a double-double meal for 13 bucks? that's still a very good deal. What shocking is not the price, but that people would spend so much time and gas waiting in those notorious lines in their cars. That I DO NOT understand.They should rename the franchise Chagrin-n-out.

No way in N out Burger 🍔 should raise their prices , they get triple the business of other companies they are getting triple the money what their lines eventually going to stop being so long because at this point they just price gouging us period.

In and out employees already got over $20 per hour. So why is in and out increasing the prices?

The starting pay in CA is now over $20 an hour but the highest worker wage is still only ~$30. Yes the workers are initially paid well but there are lots of people behind you preventing the long term worker from getting a higher " living wage" they want. Mgr are paid the best but with a non franchise model , only 5 are opened each year. I hear the Utah workers are only paid starting at $11.

Make food at home people , more healthier

Does the price increase apply to all restaurants? I don't want to think about tipping anymore. I'd rather just pay a bit more for food knowing the waiter is getting paid well.

In and Out pays fairly and higher than minimum wages. For In and Out to raise prices is fair. Now if the salt they use be sea salt instead of aluminum salt that would be amazing!

That is why I make my own food at home by shopping at Walmart Community Market, making my lunch and dinner, way cheaper than buying burgers and fries and the high price sugar flavored water they call soda.

I haven't had fast or processed food in years. Not sure why people would eat that stuff now a days. I understand years back when it was low cost. But it's not worth it for cost or health at all in any way these days. Go to a grocery store and make something yourself.

I always heard in and out employees were paid about 20$ dollars an hour before the minimum wage went up for fast food workers. I think they are just being greedy, and want to take advantage of this situation.

However, In & Out said it doesn't affect them when the law changes because they usually already pay employees over $20. So, how do they say it relates to the law? It is called corporate greed. The law had nothing to do with it; they already paid their employees an over-minimum range. The reporter was too stupid to ask them about that.

I don't eat fast food for health reasons but I've noticed drive thru lines at a local In-N-Out seem to be longer while those at McDonalds and other burger chains have disappeared.

I am not fine with it. So I don't get soda. I just get ice water and then get some soda :)

It's still cheaper than anywhere else. They also have been paying people well for years. I live in AZ and a double double is $5.55 which isn't bad. In-n-out is one of the few fast food places actually worth the price anymore.

My wife and I eat at In-and-Out in Texas for less than $20 for two meals. I read about the increases in California more than a week ago and it looks like, considering all economic facts as well as food quality and quality, it's still a great deal.

Please do research and inform us how the lives of the employees have been impacted. Also, I have yet to see news stories comparing corporation earnings before and after the wage increase. They tell us the increase negatively impacts them, and therefore, they must increase prices, but we do not see figures.

Price gauging big time! Wages in the 1990’s at this restaurant were 12-14$ an hour so it went up 30% while prices went up 300%. Employees wages are very low now. It’s terrible 😢

All the fast food prices are going up everywhere. I payed over ten dollars for a half of sandwich, and a bag of chips at subway..😡

When I got my first job, I was earning minimum wage, which was 4.25. I was excited! I was also in high school! People shouldn’t expect to live on minimum wage.

What really strange is that their web site does not give you a price on any item. They show only the menu, but not what it's going to cost you.

Well, I cut going out for lunch by 75%. And i feel better in more ways than one. :)

Their prices are still relatively low. The food is always amazing, I've never had my order messed up and everyone working there is always happy and helpful. The only problem is the long line.

I'm surprised anyone could feel the repercussions of a price hike , because In N Out always had the freshest food made fresh , always hot, at more than fair prices . Even with the price hike you can still feed your family without going broke.

I’ll pay whatever they want I can eat it on a road trip and never got sick I eat there almost 40 times a year

That’s not too bad compare to Five Guys, where you pay $22 for a little burger, small fries and a small drink. In and Out still has the best deal.

In N Out used to be more expensive than McDonald’s, Carl’s Jr, or others.. but I always felt the quality was better so it was worth the extra cost. Now it’s better and cheaper 💯

They went up on January 1st. The employees got a $1 an hour raise. Then again up in April. The employees did not get the raise then. Did it go up in the last week? I spend $25-50 a day while I am in Cali for work 3 weeks a month at In-N-Out. I would hate to think I have to cut them back to 1 time a day because they jumped up the prices a 3rd time this year.

People are complaining about the price of an In-N-Out Burger meal how much you pay for the same thing you order at a McDonald's I'm sure it's definitely a lot higher and the quality of the food at In-N-Out is far better

McD Double quarter pounder meal $11ish BK Texas double whopper meal $16ish 1 meal almost pays for 1 employee for 1 hour. We're getting ripped.

I’m shocked, shocked that there are people in the Bay Area stressing out over 20 cents for an In-N-Out burger. Seriously, if you can afford to live here, fast food is about the most affordable part of living. Also, the economy isn’t terrible, which is why that drive through line is insane.

In n out actually have the lowest price increases compared to other fast food restaurants. Their owner is adamant about keeping prices low & not $ gouging
