I've got several Nikon Lens's which all feature that 9 ear drying superglue they use as lubricant. just short of a decade the lens jams. Brilliant video.
What is the name of the front part of the lens that holds the filter. It was the 2nd part you removed after removing the inside ring. Where would one be able to find the device to remove the retaining ring. What was the plumbing part for putting back the front ring? Great video!! Looking to replace the front filter holder ring on a 70-200 mm.
..The last and lost screw, ha ha... from where is it? Ad how many screws can one lose until the objective stops working? Great questions to consider... ;-D
Hello Mikeno62. I am subscribed to your channel, and I also have a 70-200 VR objective that is exactly the same. A focus at 1.5 meters, that is. at the minimum distance, it stays stuck and I have to wait until the ring turns again. Unfortunately my English level is not good enough to follow your instructions in the video. But watching the video, part III, the solution is in a screw that tightens, is it true? Greetings and we will continue to see your interesting videos.
Thank's, I have made another film about the stuck focus ring in this lens, that actually explain the problem much better, and how one could fix it. ru-vid.com?o=U&video_id=o3XZor3RSno Cheers Kenneth
Thanks Kenneth for your answer. But in the link that you have put I do not direct to any video. If I click on it, I'll go to my RU-vid channel. Thank you very much.
Hello mikeno Some time ago, you gave me the link to ask Nikon for 70-200 rubber rings like the ones that appear in the video. I'm looking and I can not find the link. Unfortunately, they responded that they do not send that spare to Spain. I am writing to the technical service of Spain and the answer is that they do not serve the Canary Islands, that is, I can not buy that spare part. Would you be so kind as to send me again the link to buy the two rubber rings in Nikon USA? Maybe a friend who lives there can do it. Thank you.
Okay, that was a shame, but I found this focus rubber on eBay so hopefully they will send to you: www.ebay.ie/itm/Nikon-Nikkor-ED-70-200mm-f-2-8G-IF-Focus-Rubber-Ring-1K110-583-DH7231/372662365512?hash=item56c4686d48:g:z1AAAOSwt6ZWUPgr And another one here: www.ebay.ie/itm/Genuine-Nikon-AF-S-VR-Nikkor-ED-70-200mm-f-2-8G-IF-Focus-Rubber-Ring-Replacement/372614629973?hash=item56c1900a55:g:S-UAAOSw-CpX98~X Or you could buy it at Nikon homepage USA: parts.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product/lens-parts/af-s-vr-zoom-nikkor-ed-70-200mm-f%252f2.8g-if-focus-rubber-ring.html
