Hi Saeng, nice to see your sticky rice basket collection. Its cute to see you even have a basket for your dog as well. Thanks for sharing your tips on how to clean out the sticky rice basket.
Hello! Thanks for watching. I'm just so passionate about these beautiful sticky rice baskets and love collecting them every time I find a new one when I travel to Laos. Each basket holds a story for me. 😃
@@SaengsKitchen These bamboo baskets look hand made. They're a work of art since they're hand crafted. I can see how each basket holds a story for you, especially since you buy them when you go visit Laos.
Those spoons are miracles, I use them for everything! Thank you for the guide, I picked up some baskets when I visited Laos 2 years ago. But I have been too hesitant to use them, I've been particularly afraid of letting them go moldy. So thanks for the guide and advice for cleaning. I am Thai-Lao/Isaan, and I always have khao niew around, but I'm too precious about these baskets. They are meant to be used!
Thank you so much! I'm trying my best to create high quality videos for our community so generations of Lao kids can use it to help them on their Lao food journey as well 😊
Thats such a nice compliment. Thanks so much! I used to teach in-person cooking classes so I love bringing those classes into my youtube channel. Excited for you to get your own rice basket soon ☺
Thank you for this video, I don't own a sticky rice basket yet but worried about it's longevity if I didn't use it properly or maintain it especially for food safety reasons. I'll have to buy my own now!
Everyone I know just air dries the sticky rice on a bamboo tray till cool and then puts it in a plastic bag inside the rice basket. Don't have to worry about it steaming and going musky if it's already cool. The real challenge is cleaning the steaming basket!
@@veronikabiggswe typically have it room temp but sometimes people microwave it in the plastic bag for 30 seconds to get it warm again. it gets hard if it's left out to dry too long but it won't get hard in the bag.
OMG....you put hot steaming sticky rice on that plastic sheet probably used to contain you uncooked sticky rice that is so unhygenic considering you already have a bamboo weave tray for that purpose. YUCK!
