This is how I mark my seam allowance using a credit or gift card and double stick poster tape. 🤗⁣

Things I forgot to mention: I scored the card with a dull rotary blade saved for paper cutting at 3/4".😊👍⁣

Two 2" test squares sewn with 1/4" theme should reach 3 1/2" on the ruler when measured side by side after sewing.✂️💟🧵⁣

This is absolutely the best method on all sewing machines. No need to haul a heavy machine to retreats or sewing gatherings when a simple lightweight machine can piece fabric just the same.

Thank you for mentioning those of us that have the dropdown bobbin in front of the feed dogs. I have a Janome and it's frustrating that I have to remove the tape whenever I had to change my bobbin.

Put it just to fit the top of your bobbin cover ONLY! That way you can change your bobbin, put the cover back, and you are good to go!

Thank you for posting this! I bought an Accuquilt, and NONE of my units come out to the right size when I use it. After watching this video, I think I am going to pick up a roll of this tape the next time I go out, and try to make a seam allowance guide on one of my old machines and use it just for pieces I cut with my Accuquilt. (Yes, I have *might* have a sewing machine problem, but there are worse things!)

Don’t forget that pressing with steam or starch or anything wet can potentially shrink the unit too.

True about the 1/4” foot guide even the light blocks the true position of placing your fabric on the 1/4 foot. And about the cutting board do you place the fabric on the line or next to measurement line. Hope you understand and I will appreciate your help.
