@@StigAviation Just a side note on those F-16 missiles, they're either an AMD telemetry pod or it was originally a live AIM-9 Sidewinder missile which the seeker head has been removed. Air to Air weapons are mainly categorised by the colored bands on the body and if they are entirely blue or have blue only bands, they are a CATM with no warhead but replicates the same mass as if a real weapon was on there for training purposes. Also a similar device known as a TACTS or ACMI pod is used to record flight manouvering data. The information is then downloaded via a cartridge and can be displayed on a screen for crews to review their tactics, lessons learned and plan future strategies. Establishments such as the US Navy Topgun school (yes it's officially one word and not two like Hollywood's version) and squadron level training units use this equipment all the time.

They learned very quickly not to have hydrogen in those things. But from what i read, even if it was filled with helium, it would’ve still burned down.

That’s very interesting because from what I’ve read in history, it represents a propeller, but then again, I might be wrong, I trust the people at BMW. I’m sure they know better than I do. But the fact still stands that BMW was manufacturing aircraft engines before they were manufacturing vehicles.

Their engines made the FW-190 aka "the butcher bird" one of the best aircraft of WW 2. They were one of the few multi-national companies that acknowledged their past and how it related to the war.@@StigAviation

@@StigAviation In Victoria Australia They are few and far between and tiny The biggest is in Moorabbin Airport the museum only has 24 or 25 aircraft and is open 7 days a week NOT too such about the others. Don't think they open much because they are so small and i really don't know about others in New South Wales or around Australia Capital Territory, South And Western Australia and Northern Territory, Queensland. You guys in the USA totally out do us by miles from what I have seen on your video and Jimmy's World.

You know, I saw a couple of people spotting out there that day, unfortunately, it was getting super cold and I could not stay outside. I just caught a few airplanes landing, which was very fun. That might’ve been you standing out there with all that fancy camera equipment.

@@andrijasaviccsavic1124 in general aviation and helicopters it’s mil spec 5605. In commercial aviation it’s almost the same thing, smells the same feels the same but different mil spec. I can’t remember the exact number, but they call it strut fluid.

To be honest with you Trevor, I don’t know, I’ve never worked that engine, and I am very ignorant when it comes to it. I would have to read and do research to find out myself.

@@StigAviation I didn’t work on either. I picked it up here on you tube. The JP8 fuel it runs on has a high flash point, this is due to the skin of the aircraft glowing cherry red at Mach 3. A shot of tetra ethyl borane burns super hot (TEB) which is enough to light up the engine and the afterburner. TEB ignites on contact with air and produces a green flame. If you have time one day, check out the videos on this remarkable 1950s aircraft.

From what I read on the history of that aircraft, they used it as a test bed for an experimental engine. And it might’ve been in Europe at some point as well.

The 787 is susceptible to lightning strikes, but it does absorb it pretty good. The problem starts happening with the damage it causes. You see metal can be repaired very easily, a few rivets here a patch there, good to go. Now a composite fuselage is very different. Damage is not as evident and it could extend out into other factors of the fuselage. So a very intense inspection as well as a very in-depth repair needs to be done. But all that stuff is very Boeing proprietary technology, I can’t really talk about it here.

@@StigAviation Thank's Stig! Statistics prove every aluminium aircraft will be lightning struck, usually about once a year or so. For Boeing to have any secrecy surrounding such a high-risk issue I feel is worrying. If damage is unseen, obscure or requires greater in-depth investigation, surely all such data should be openly shared with the industry while we are in the early stages of using and understanding the damage, wear and aging characteristics of carbon fiber pressure vessels (fuselage structures).

No such thing as chemtrails unless your flying a crop duster 😅

There has been incidents, but no crashes as far as I have known, but there has been an incident with the icing of that system
