#Stiga Park 120 service how to video, covering engine oil change, spark plug change, air filter check and clean, drive belt and cutting deck checks.
The Stiga Park 120 is a ride on #lawnmower with great manoeuverability and a mulching cutting deck. In this video I carry out the first #service of the mower since it was new. The owner of this one has made a few modifications to make it easier for him to use.

I have a stiga park hst that ive owned new since 2007 . Its been great . I derust/repaint the deck every couple of years and have replaced all the deck bearings in it a few times (as there are no grease points for these and the grease goes dry). Got 20 years out of the original battery . V. important that it is fully charged before storing for winter as AGM batteries die in a partial charge state. The Tufftorq gearbox is 'sealed for life' (as with most cars today), however it was recommended to me by a number of mower guys to change the oil every couple of years which i do and its noticeable the difference in colour when draining. On my mower Stiga purchased the Tufftorq gearbox from the manufacturer with the optional drain points on the main gearbox box and differential which is interesting.... They are often not drilled and tapped on other makes using Tufftorq. Perhaps Stigas definition of 'life' could be 10 years. I always change transmission oil on vehicles . (Had a friend who once had a Maserati with a ZF box and these were 'sealed for life' . No oil change required (which meant 100,000 for Maserati) however ZF did recommend oil change intervals for that partical box - Zf expected their boxes to last a lot longer than 100,000 with regular servicing.)

Very comprehensive video, I have just used it to do my annual service. One small addition to the list is to check the blades and sharpen them if required. Overall a great video guide!

Just wanted to see where the drainport is at the tractor. Nice video. The shop where we bought it, we let them do also the Service and they always done the oil chane but put way to much oil on there. Now I am doing it on my own. Thanks for the video. Btw we have the 220 and it has a Bridge and Stratton Engine not a Stiga one but the oil drainport is the same

Nice video! I found it because i'm searching a solution on my Stiga park 220. It doesn't start. When i turn the key.....absolutly nothing. Was working very good on my last try. I washed it and park it in good shape in my garage. Today, nothing....any idea? Is there any fuses?
@1066qw
@1066qw 3 года назад
Mine had exactly this problem. It was the starter motor relay (Stiga use some cheapo junk for these relays, and they are not weatherproofed.) Test with a multimeter upon switching the key.

Thanks for this, I've just been asked to take a look at the Park 120 featured in this video as it's doing a similar thing. Will try to do a video on it!

good video. do you have any advice on how to carry out an accelerator cable repair on a stiga villa 320?
@AndrewFixes

Thanks! Not sure whether I can offer any pearls of wisdom on your accelerator cable repair, but I'll give it a go. What's happened to it?

Hey, nice video. I've got a 344ccm 13hp Stiga park compact 14 hst mower. How du you lube the chain from the steering. Usually I just spray them down with brake cleaner and after wiping and drying I spray them with thicker spray lube. Does work for me, but is that enough ?
@AndrewFixes
@AndrewFixes 4 года назад
Thanks! Your method sounds good enough to me. Any sort of lubricant that stays on the chain to reduce wear, but more importantly to prevent water sitting on the chain and causing it to rust, would be sufficient in my opinion. I suppose something like a motorcycle chain spray lube would be ideal. Some of these are available in small bottles so they'd fit into the relatively small space available more easily. Could also spray with the steering in different positions to ensure you get as much coverage as possible.

I cannot increase acceleration, has cable come off or does it need to be tightened, if so, do you have to take the body surround off??

Hi! My front belt has broken - ive ordered a new belt but how do i replace it? it seems a little bit tight so its hard to get it over in the weel in the front - is it easier if i pop the front up and then place the new belt on? Thanks. Siri

Terrific video and I have the same question as well. When you popped off the top plastic cowling at the end of your video, the two wheels seem afixed with no room to move for tension adjustments. So if you replace the secondary belt, how would one go about loosening that wheel? Is it just the bolt on top? Cheers!
@AndrewFixes
@AndrewFixes 4 года назад
@@studiojapan3432 If you're talking about the toothed belt that links the 2 blade pulleys - I've not had to replace that one before but I think you're right - can't see any other way of doing it apart from removing one of the pulleys. Hope you manage to get it sorted - would be interested to hear how it went. Cheers
@AndrewFixes
@AndrewFixes 4 года назад
Siri, which belt do you mean? The one between the 2 blade drive pulleys or the one taking the drive to the deck? I'm just trying to work out if you're both talking about the same belt or different ones! Cheers

Same problem here, just broke that belt that drives the blades and goes under the seat. Had a hell of a time figuring out what size belt but I can't see any other way to get it on than to take that pulley off under the seat run the belt and then reattach the pulley. Frustrating setup if that's the case. Anyone else have an easier method?

Do you need to disconnect the belt to the cutting deck before you raise it up to clean underneath & blades?

Question for you I have an older Park Pro HST12. Ive just noticed lately that oil is leaking and seems to be coming from rear tire area. Thoughts?
@AndrewFixes
@AndrewFixes 3 года назад
Hi, it's very difficult to tell without seeing it. Could be coming from an oil seal on the transmission or if that model has an engine oil drain tube like the Park 120, that could be leaking (it's in front of the left rear tyre). Really the only way to tell is to look underneath it with a torch (+/- mirror if needed). Depending on how much oil has leaked, it may need degreasing first to help you work out where it's coming from.
@Coatsy71
@Coatsy71 3 года назад
@@AndrewFixes thanks for your reply , i actually think i over filled it and its leaking around the seal. It was really sluggish forward and reverse for awhile after i filled it.

I have a problem with my Stiga 12.5/96. Can you help pls? Took it out of winter storage, charged battery, and mowed for a couple of hours. Took a break, now it won't start again. Seat microswitch looks OK, so must be brake pedal or gear lever switches. Any idea how to get to them to check? Can't find service manual anywhere on internet. Thx.

I realise I'm about a year late to this party, apologies for that. I hope you managed to fix it. I've had a similar problem with the Stiga featured in the video this year. In my case it turned out to be a loose connection to the ignition switch.

@@AndrewFixes Yeah, I moved on from temporary work at that place a while ago. Thing is, she was rich and there was a service station in next village with mechanics who could have sorted it in a jiffy. I'm good with cars and m/bikes, but agri machines are a different ballgame. Ho-hum, never got to finish the garden and it looked shit half cut.
