Stihl SG 71 Sprayer 1 Year On Review  

Thank you for the review, Mr. Smashy (love the outtakes)! I destroyed up my Solo Comfort sprayer by dumping 2KG of what I thought was water soluble iron sulfate powder into it without testing it first in a small jar. It hardened like concrete almost as fast as it hit the water and rendered the sprayer completely useless. I'm going to buy the SG 71 based on your recommendation.

Great review mate. Looks a decent bit of kit. I have just got a new cooper pegler 15 as my last one 15 years old the plastic body cracked. They are indestructible and apart from nozzles it has had nothing spent on it. Hope the new one lasts as long.

You got the golden ticket. I purchased same model earlier this year, tip of wand began leaking immediately. After about 8 uses, the pump lever would no longer pressurize the sprayer. Took it back to the dealer for service, wanted to charge me 55 USD to look at it, this was even after confirming it was well within the warranty period. Only after being frustrated did I bother to check Stihl's own product page. unfortunately, my product experience was typical. Total rubbish Stihl product, buy the no name backpack sprayer for half the cost instead.

Mr smashy over here 😂 I’ve got 8 broken sprayers in my garage. I’m considering getting this for my lawn business. I hate spraying weeds but I have to. I run all the Stihl equipment except this sprayer. I guess it’ll look nice on the trailer

Hi. I bought an sg71 sprayer and within 1 month of using it it does not pressure up. I have to keep pumping it constantly to make it spray and as soon as i stop pumping it stops spraying. No one seems to help especially the dealers! Any advice PLEASE!!! The pressure gauge on the trigger shows nothing. I can use it but I have to keep pumping like mad and it feels like there is no pressure on the handle. What needs replacing?

Highly recommend taking any sprayer apart after purchasing and putting plumbing tape on any thread parts. And never store with pressure in the pump!

Mr. Grindy and Mr.Smashy. There was a bunch of times this summer I went to film and the guy across the street would always cut his grass. I would change days and it was like...hey looks like he’s about to do something in the yard. Gotta cut the grass🤦‍♂️ Nice sprayer I just use the cheap-O 1 or 2 gallon sprayers but this looks like a really nice option.

Nice review. I bought the same sprayer 5 years ago. Its good value for its money. Would i buy again? Probably, if i only used it like every other week. Some negatives like how the straps are attached to the sprayer, the handle wich will snap on high pressure, the occasional leaking, the pump barrel that wont come off for greasing. I'm currently saving up for a birchmeier. Having two sprayers is better, one for lawn products and one for Roundup.
