Well stiles and Scott spent most of their childhood together so she probably started seeing stiles as a son since stiles use to spend most of his time at their place since his dad use to work till late.
You can tell stiles really isn't his usual self because he didn't freak out when she got the needle. Normally he would pass out or at least freak out much more then he did. Anyway this is a very cute scene.

Just imagine how she felt when she heard it, she froze up because he hadn't said those words together in a long time, and in his delirious sleepy ramblings he was reminded of his own mother, imagine how happy that must've made her feel, to know that for a split second all the troubles in his life were gone and he believed that he still had his mom tucking him into bed.
my god, i really suffered a lot in this season seeing how bad he felt. I love the relationship between Melissa and Stiles, after all she's like a mom for him.
I know how he feels I feel like I don't know myself sometimes I feel different I look different I'm usually a bright energetic funny person I always make people laugh but there are days where I just don't feel like.....well me tbh
Stiles really was the second son of Melissa, there's no doubt. Proof- When Kira helped killing Scott for 45minutes to see who the benefactor was, there's a scene in the morgue where Kira's mother asks Melissa to give her hand to her. Melissa doesn't trust them so she looks at Stiles and he says "Yeah" and assures her and then she stretches her hand to Kira's mother. Also, in many occasions Stiles is always over Scott's house or breaks in and Melissa (though scared) never minds it.
When does he say "it's not real anyway"? At 0:13, he says "I guess not really" if you meant that part. She says: stiles, are you alright He says: I d-don't know. Y-yeah, I guess. I guess not really? If he said "it's not real anyway" she probably would have addressed that. Like being "uh what's not real?" or "this is real stiles, this is real". Unless you're talking about a different part? Then nvm lol
2:25 makes me thankful that my mom is still alive. Because, Stiles mom passed and Melissa is like a mom figure, not even a mom figure, she was more of a mom to Stiles and he got that chance to say "thanks mom" while putting him to sleep. This scene is awesome and beautiful!
Seeing Stiles like that hurts. Stiles not feeling like himself, knowing he is not well. I am glad he still managed to make Melissa smile with mentioning the tree, etc. Even though Stiles sleeping is a bad thing because of Void being able to get into his head, so on. I wonder if that was the best sleep he had gotten before everything else started happening. It is bittersweet when he calls her mom. She is like a mom to him. It is precious to see her tuck him in and telling him to get some rest. One of the best scenes in Teen Wolf. Thanks for uploading. ❤️❤️❤️
this is definitely a beautiful scene. You can tell Melissa really loves Stiles and she was incredibly touched by him calling her mom. This and the scene where Chris hugs Isaac after Alisson's death are two of my favorite moments. Also when Stiles steps into the ring of fire with Scott and Scott hugs Stiles before he gets tested for a mental disorder.
I agree with what was said in the reunion, this is one the most powerful scenes. You see Stiles in one of his worst states whose never really had a mom to care after him (mothers love is different after-all), and you see Melissa’s position in Stiles life stronger than ever. She basically raised him alongside her own son. My heart 🥺

NOW I GET IT (Spoilers for the rest of season 3 incoming) Morell (Sorry I don't know how to spell her name) said at Eichen House that sleep makes Stiles more vulnerable to the nogitsune and remember the first time void Stiles showed up? Right after he had his long sleep at the hospital and the Oni wanted to test him. But does that mean that the nogitsune would have just come out slower, like, did the sedative just speed the process up?
We know that Stiles is Mum died when Stiles was young and that Scott is his best friend so therefore he grew up with Melissa acting like a mother figure I think this is the first time that Styles acknowledged it I think she was shocked that Styles acknowledged it even though she does see him like a son if you watch that interactions throughout Teen Wolf it is clear that she sees Stiles like a son the same way the sheriff sees Scott like a son they are the perfect non family family
this is without a doubt one of my favourite scenes in the entire show. the first time i watched it i literally had tears rolling down my face. he's so precious
this part hits so close to home because it’s such a relatable experience for so many people at stiles age in the show. i myself have been on both ends of this: finding a parental figure in my friends parents and my friends finding one in my mom. the closeness of the teen wolf cast, particularly the stilinski and mccall families translates so beautifully on screen. you can tell how much melissa truly loves stiles and you can tell how much stiles does view her has a mother. of course, he’s high on sedatives in this scene lol, but the reason this scene hits so close is because everyone who watched the show could feel like maternal connection melissa had with stiles. to hear him call her mom is heart wrenching and beautiful and soooo bitter sweet. dylan plays stiles insanely well and really is able to portray this young man who is just trying to remain high spirited and happy at all times. seeing him go through so much pain and suffering and trauma in this season is so painful because it feels like you’re watching your best friend in a way
At 1:02 doesn’t it look like the ‘mom’ kinda look that she gives stiles after he says how much sleep he’s been getting? This made me laugh and cry at the same time I absolutely love this whole scene it’s so beautiful
melissa is such a good mother role to him. the way she says “lie down” is so stern but caring. she loves stiles just as much as she loves scott n it’s so sweet
I remember watching this a few years ago and being mindblown at how Stiles could still function on 8 hours of sleep over the span of three days and now I've been awake for almost 48 hours and I still can't sleep. I need some of that sedative asap :,)
Stiles is pretty much Scott’s brother and he pretty much lives in Scott’s house. Melissa treats him like another son anyway. I think it’s sweet that he called her mom.

She really was his mom. After his own mom died Melissa would absolutely have acted in that role for him whenever it was appropriate. & with no mother figure to look to at home, he would have internalized Melissa's behaviour when he was over at their place. Stiles' dad was the father Scott needed when his failed, and Melissa was the mother Stiles needed after his was gone.
Notice Melissa didn’t say what medasolin (not sure how to spell it) was until she injected it into him because he wouldn’t have let her give him a sedative.
