I will watch your videos twice a day just to make sure i’m actually consuming the knowledge, thank you. You really helped me with my brazilian kick.(I also didn’t even know the snake kick existed)
Notes: Mistake 1: Lean forward to get in range. Mistake 2: Lean head off the center line, and not returning. Mistake 3: Comboing off tempo. Pausing during combos. Key takeaways: Be as defensive as possible, when entering the pocket: chin down, hands up, tight shoulders.
I love how he introduced the drills cause I was literally sitting here going "Okay great. I knew all that. Now what?" And of course he's so far ahead of me he's already made the video to answer that
Man this was an awesome topic, thank you Gabriel, when I spar, I do land the body shots, but they lack power, and after you covered, not to go head off the center line, with body shots, I realized what was my error, the most, while throwing body shots, an awesome video overall!
Bas Rutten was a master of landing barwknuckle body shot knockouts in Pancrase bouts in Japan. This channel is a very good boxing coaching channel. Thank you Gabriel.
As always, your tutorials are the most thorough. And this teaches very well how to land body shots. One question: is dropping the back knee like you showed a good idea in boxing? There's no kicks to watch out for in boxing.
You and Tony Jefferies are brilliant. If I was 20years younger knowing all this with RU-vid I’d have had a fighting career for sure. All I can do at my age is spar.
appreciate the tips! really like the visualization of a shell around me as long as i’m returning to guard after the punch, keeping my chin low, and shoulder tucked grateful for the videos! 🙌
12:40 hello, why would u bite the mouth peace, to not make it fall if received a counter ? But shouldn't we exhale when we punch, so what's the point of biting and not exhaling properly with the shots ? Ty in advance for the answer.
Hi gabriel , i have a question , but first thanks for giving all those good advices, but what would u recommend ppl ? Focusing on kicks or punches ? Like punching more or kicking more ? Thanks brother have a nice evening
Hey, so I was watching one of your videos on stances a bit earlier today and I was wanting to ask a question in regards to the stance that you adopted. The way that you explained it was that you chose your stance because it favored parries, catches, trapping, etc. this is actually something that I resonated with a lot as I am trying to develop a “close to perfect defense”. basically, I want to be to parry/catch 90% of what the opponent is throwing (assuming I stay in that range and don’t get pushed into a close guard) how did you go about honing your reactions, techniques, and overall skill with that style of defense?
Was struggling to get body shots off today in sparring for exactly all the reasons you just described. So thank you. After you finish the combo, do you always step back quickly out of range? Should we drill that as a Fourth step in our muscle memory ?
Thank You for Everything, Champ. I've listened and watched you for around 3 years now and I've learned A LOT from your work. Thank You a Million. Happy Holidays To You and Yours...
Thanks for the advice, definitely going to practise this! I found myself remembering your advice on high kick technique and I was kicking higher than ever! Appreciate you sharing your skills with the world champ 💪🏻😎🥊
