Your arguments don't work because you are arguing from emotions man, I'm not saying they are invalid but to show how you feel about Hell, God, and Jesus doesn't equate to you leaving the faith, you left the faith because you didn't understand God. The world is suffering because of SIN, when humans let the desires of their heart run rampered you are bound to have suffering and evil in the world but thanks to Jesus he equips us for suffering. God is loving and also Just, he love us so much that whenever we do harm against other people he has to punish us. Jesus didn't die for some people, he willingly bore the cross for each everyone of us to look at him in times of great suffering. A loving God has to let you choose what you want to do but they are consequences for every decision, You don't need God to tell or show you to Love your neighbors but Jesus tells to love each and everyone regardless of what they did. You are angry that God does intervene and you are also angry that God doesn't intervene so there's no point for God. SIN does exist, Hell does exist to punish the lawless ones who fail to do GOOD but thankfully there's a God that loves all humans whether they've harmed another person or not to the point he died for all of us. Take care man, may the Lord Jesus be with you and your family. ❤

Just came upon your channel. I'm a secular humanist who loves to hear other peoples stories and discover what they believe and why they believe it. It's great to hear your story.

So, … was Jesus of "the Church of A-holery", as you put it, for stating the exclusivity doctrine of John 14.6? If you post a public video and push false doctrine in it for the whole world to hear, aren't you inviting criticism? You said in that video that you "left Christianity" because (1) you disagreed with the [grossly nonbiblical] doctrine of original sin (and apparently never even opened your Bible to fact-check it), (2) you knew better than the publicly-resurrected Lord Jesus about hell, and (3) you disagreed with God's definition of love (which includes loving the truth, rebuking your neighbor, and evangelizing the heathen). … And the only authority you give to back your truth claims and moral claims was and still is "This is my opinion". That's quite an invitation for "rude" corrective comments. And now you're adding the Santa Claus god (also nonbiblical) to your objections to Christianity. … Another invitation for "rude" corrective comments.

New subscriber here. I made a small donation, but somehow my comment didn’t post. I hate having to write all this out again. Lol 😆 I’ve enjoyed your videos, and I could relate. I’d like to say a lot of the Christians commenting on your coming-out video say, for example, "You are never a true Christian, or you wouldn’t have left." Simply put, in my opinion, they have to believe that, or it would create doubt in their faith. And by the way, not to be argumentative, atheist simply means lacking theism. You could be a deist and still be an atheist. As long as you don’t have theistic beliefs, you’re an atheist. Of course, that’s how I see it. Peace and love from Atlanta ✌🏼

So, I am a Christian and I relate to having a lot of doubts and questions. It's totally normal and natural. And I would say that I have had many evangelical friends and it seems that denomination has it's own immense baggage. I was raised Roman Catholic and later became Episcopalian and then just a non denominational seeker. I've been to Methodist churches and Presbyterian ones. You don't have to completely leave the faith just because you question things. I am gay and that was a huge issue for me. I found many churches accept and affirm LGBT people. So, I would just say that you can find a church community that will allow you to figure things out, to wrestle and question without condemning you if you so choose. You don't have to leave if you don't want to. But if it's not for you, then do you and that's cool. Just try other denominations because a truly loving and healthy community will allow you to be you and grow and change and question while you are a part of the community. Just wanted to say that. Much love.

If this was the only life then the problem of intervention is a serious problem. It is clear biblically, though some Christians disagree, that we preexisted this life (ephesians 1:4, Jeremiah 1:5). There is a strong possibility that we all chose this life and each life serves a purpose...even hard lives. 70 years of life afterall is a drop in the bucket to eternity. I appreciate what your doing exposing the issue with religious doctrine.

You bring up some interesting questions. I have de-converted and no longer call myself a Christian. I don't say "There is no god". I just don't know. I have a relationship with uncertainty. I would rather know than not know, but I don't want to make things up so that I feel better in an illusion. May your journey be fruitful. Peace. I just posted a video on a slightly different topic, and I got a bunch of Believers saying all manner of things, some of which weren't very nice. So, I hear you when you relay what people say to you.

The fact that Jesus gives sinners undeserving salvation should be humbling, & I'm sorry for those of us who use God's gift as something to rub in the face of unbelievers. I understand where u coming from with ur objections to Christianity, & if u ever wanted to have a conversation abt it, I don't have all the answers but I know a carpenter who does bro - and he loves you more than u could ever know. Thank you for ur honesty & vulnerability, this stuff is not ez to talk abt...

OK, you've wrestled with those two different thoughts, so you exclude the third thought, that there is a GOD and HE does intervene or not intervene but not based on our thoughts, because His thinking would be so much higher and for reasons only He knows. Despite what your experience has been, it works for you. Me, on the other hand will continue to believe what I know to be true as evidenced by all Creation, for man cannot explain anything that is outside of what he knows and are willing to accept anything that comes along that makes sense to them. I so appreciate your honesty and bid you and your family all the best. As for those supposed Christians that have responded as they have in negative ways, for me that's a clue they don't have the spirit of God in them, they are carnal Christians at best, not Christians at worse.

I only found your page now , but i did watch the one from a year ago. God does tell us that what the heart is full does come out from their mouth , but it doesn't give another human the right to after one video say they know you well . This said , i can't help thinking ,relating to your video a year ago, that satan told you a lie when you had it in your mind that to be a true follower of Christ , that you are a burden to others or your friends . For you to have had an urge and desire to tell others, friends or not, about Jesus , was the work of God in your heart and life , so that He could do what He created you to do . That desire that you had , was from Him , not yourself . And satan knew this and thats why he got that lie in your head . I dont know if doubt started before this thought in your life , but i can imagine that when one lie becomes a stronghold others wil follow . One can see there's many questions you have now , 365 days later , but even if there are , with God all things are possible, and what satan meant for evil God wil turn it around in your favour . Birds migrate, the wind blows , bees visits flowers , dead leaves fall on the soil . God has a plan and reason and time for everything. We all have a purpose in God , but i know some go through greater tests and trials and although we dont know where to or why , but if He can hold the earth, moon and Sun in there respective places giving us humans day and night, light and dark on time everytime, we can trust that He can hold you in His Mighty hand too . Jesus can still speak to each humans storms and calm them . He can still cause the wind to be still. And no matter how late or dark it is around us , even if we are in the middle of the ocean with no lights on the shore too see , when you keep your eyes on Jesus, you wil walk ontop off that which you think wil be your end . And if we get weak,or loose faith , or when i should say it happens ...just call out :"Jesus, help me !" . And immediately He wil grab you by the hand and pull you up to where you were . He doesnt change . He is humble and soft of heart full of mercy and grace God bless you May the peace and joy of the Lord Jesus Christ fill you ,amen and amen Come unto Me all you that labour and are heavy burdened and i wil give you rest - it is a promise feom the Lord ! As He told the disciples I see that satan tried to sift you - but know that the Lord prayed for them If satan tried to sift them , dont think he wont you Everything we as humans need is only found in Christ Jesus... He made us,died for us and Loves us more then we can ever imagine on this side

For me, calling myself an atheist means that due to lack of convincing evidence, I simply reject all theistic proposals that I have encountered. This doesn't mean that I reject the possibility that there may be "something" more beyond what can be seen, what we can touch and measure. The utter senselessness and lack of deeper meaning of this Universe is as difficult to accept as any man made gods and religions. On the other hand, if we look around with a cold eye, it is hard to resist the impression that our lives are ruled by pure chance.

Hey man, thanks for this video. Sorry for all the people who have doubted and presumed to know the status of your salvation. I love to see salvation as a gift. It's something we can receive, and God doesn't take it away because He freely gave it to all who believe. However, we can choose to walk away from it and are not bound by it. I hope for a renewal of mind, faith, and revelation. Blessings to you, Trent, and your family along this journey!

Sounds like you are struggling with what the Buddhists would call "dukkha ", meaning specifically that you believe things should be different than they are, and a god/gods should always have direct beneficial actions towards humanity. But if a god ever did have THAT behavior, what trouble our kind would be for the rest of nature. We are all already too smart for our own good. We don't need to have some external force making our lives so cozy that we have no competition. If there was a god, I feel like that god would be defined by pure balance and less by doing favors for people. We aren't the only living thing here, and it's not all about us. THAT is my biggest contention with Christians. Mankind wanted to descend to the lower realms and carry their god nature with them at the same time. That is the source of dukkha/unsatisfactoriness. We have the minds to know things could be/should be like our native home world, but it just is not so here. We are all strangers in a strange land.

I just watched your first video about deconstruction and left a rather long reply. Glad to hear everything is going well. When I was in College I studied religion and rather enjoyed it. Now you say that their could only be 2 types of God-1 who chooses to intervene is different areas and another who created life and left his creation to find for itself-also called Pandeism. Firstly, it’s up to us to be Jesus’ hands and feet here on Earth. So In areas of suffering, war, genocide, etc. it is up to us as God’s elect to help where we can. Their are a lot of Christians like myself who are poor and have sent money to Organizations who claim to be ‘Christian’ only to take the money and run. It’s tough to find a trustworthy organization that’ll be able to make a difference. Another thing is being comfy. Which is a place most Christian’s are in is the area of self comfort. Instead of fighting for what is right and pushing forward we have gotten lazy to the point where we expect God to jump in and heal the situation when we can partner with a Ministry that has boots on the ground in the affected areas. Jesus can choose to jump in if He wants to but it should start with us Christians first-through prayer, funds (if you can afford it), or being their personally (which most people can’t do especially if it’s in another Nation). Like I said in your other video it is a bad idea to use feelings to make a decision on because it isn’t a firm ground to stand on. I hope everything goes well for you and your family. Have a good one.

Years ago when I was a bit younger I did. Some interesting stuff - but there is also interesting stuff about aliens in all sorts of ancient texts. I think ultimately we find what we want out of these things and it's super hard to actually prove what happen that long ago based of of people who benefited from us believing that it did. But i don't have much interest or time to invest in diving back into that sort of research.

@@Trentenjoel I mean this respectfully -- but do you think it wise to abandon Christianity without even looking at the positive case in detail? I'd be happy to talk with you about the evidence for Christianity sometime if you're interested.

@@JonathanMcLatchie I actually do think it's wise to evaluate the affect of anything profound in your life. I didn't abandon Christianity on a whim, it came with a lot of time, heart ache, reading & conversations, and... prayer. The choice itself cost me. Friends, family, relationship, work. Literally the way I provided for my family. But ultimately the choice to be a healthier happier, more joy filled human full of a greater love and peace was at the end - without Christianity.
