Still Original 1985 Dover at New Chemistry Bldg. w/ SAD news at Chemistry Annex! TAMU campus

Filmed on July 6, 2018: Here is the checkup on the 1985 classic Traditional Dover elevators that I have seen since last time located in the New Chemistry Building. As you could see, they are doing renovations to this building on the Texas A&M University's campus. What they have done to the elevators is that they redid the cabs, but the fixtures and all the old equipments are still intact which is good! BUT... BAD NEWS for the 1972 vintage Dover elevators in the Chemistry Annex Building! Skip to 5:44 if you want to directly see what they did in the annex wing of the Chemistry Building. As for the building on campus itself, this building was built in 1929 and was expanded in between 1981 and 1988. With that said, enjoy a mini tour and a ride on the elevators in this whole Chemistry Building. Installed in 1985.

Skip to 5:44 to see what has happened to the 1972 vintage Dover elevators in the annex wing of the Chemistry Building at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, so that would be directly easier for y'all. This was quite an editing I had made!

This is the reason why I don't like losing vintage elevators at a campus like Texas A&M or the University of Arizona... They would use the same fixtures that all of the other elevators would use... once you see those fixtures, you pretty much have seen all of the elevators with those same buttons...

...over and over again. Yeah. You're right, Jay. It's like repeating continuously. Like I said, I am just done with the modded elevators right now. This was filmed last summer. I only filmed it to go down and leave. Never ever will this thing be seen again.

Well here's the thing, parts are actually harder to find to maintain old elevators in one of the major reasons why they get modded or ripped out. If they have the necessary parts (which I doubt for the most part), most of the old elevators would've lasted at least more.

I've heard that the 1972 Dover elevators were having a lot of issues and breaking down a lot. I talked to a student who studied in this building. Appears that most of the city owned properties don't know how to maintain their elevators on a regular basis I believe. Also, parts were really hard to get for old elevators is why they chose to mod them.

OMG!! What a TOTAL regret!! Doing the same thing like PSU!! UGH!! I hate PTL!! This is such a MAD BS TOTAL KICKOFF!! They malfunction a lot, they break & glitch a lot!! THIS IS WHY THE OLD ONES ARE SOOO MUCH BETTER THEN THE MODDED ONES!! Okay. I'm sorry I'm overreacting but hey, THIS IS ANOTHER BIG EXAMPLE OF HOW YOU DON'T MODERNIZE ELEVATORS!!!! Same with that OTIS Black Button Elevator!! You guessed it!! They were mods!! Ugh I'm gonna throw up lol jk 😂😂 but I'm just sooo disappointed about this. They ran just fine!!

I have been on like 5-6 elevators at Texas A&M University with this exact same fixture, it getting me a headache seeing this stuff repeatedly. Also, there’s a dentistry building in my area that’s also getting the exact same PTL fixtures. Videos will be uploading later next month.

That's true. 😭😭 My area in Oregon wants Innovation, Washington State wants EPCO & Adams, Cali wants ERM, Nevada & Las Vegas wants MAD, & Texas wants PTL. I lost a 1970 Montgomery G&P Elevator at PSU but at least I have an Intermediate Station

UniformBlock20 Rosello Yeah, but their quality is very poor, ride is very slow, cheaply made materials bought directly from foreign countries (NOT American made), and they aren’t built to last. Old elevators are a thousand times FAR MORE better than modern elevators. The new elevators are already designed to fall apart shortly.

The only exception I can take from modernization is when an elevator is like severely vandalized and falling apart, then that is an example of an elevator that badly needs a mod. If it breaks constantly and people are unable to find parts to fix it, that would be needlessly be an exceptions for modernization.

JimLiElevators true. Some mods of bad elevators do improve them but not on good elevators
