It took me a very long time to find the perfect audio interface and thought I share with you my decision process. I bought mine at Thomann: bit.ly/39Tc67R #audiointerface #Arturia #AudioFuse
Thanks for this review!👍 I was faced with a similar decision and choosed the Audiofuse, too! I am happy that you share the same experience. It is really a very smart devices.
you prolly dont give a shit but if you guys are bored like me atm then you can stream all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my gf for the last days :)
I’ve used Audiofuse (previous model) for about 3 years and never had any issue. The sound quality is amazing, the latency very low and the features are absolutely complete for a home recording studio, much more compared to other interfaces on the same budget. I would definitely buy it again and again.
Thank you for that detailed review of the interface. I was having latency issues and needed another interface, and when I came across the Arturia Rev2, something tells me It's what I needed and with your comprehensive review, I believe it will work for me, thanks once again.
Thanks for the great review. I already listened to various audio interfaces online, and I think this has the best sound so far, judging from your recording. It's highly likely I will get one in the near future
Love the LG monitors. It's the same 'glass' found on iMacs - but is so affordable. Personally, not crazy about the curved models (because I do a lot of drafting still and don't want any distortion) but they're great monitors. I'll take an ultrawide before I'll do 4k (which isn't perceptible under 40 or 50 inches anyway - up close there's no point - nor with my eyes).
Hello Chimera State, I’ve find your video the best on RU-vid regarding the audio fuse. I have a question for you: I have a Keystep pro using sounds from ableton and analog lab on MacBook Pro track 1, 2 and 3, track 4 synth from Korg gadget 2 iPad, Novation circuit, microfreak with zoom cdr70, a Minilab Mk2 connected to iPhone 11 using world synth app. Can I connect everything at the same time to the audio fuse in a way that they play in Sync? I also plane to use a guitar and a microphone over. Can this be possible? Do I need a mixer as well or other interface? Sorry my poor knowledge in this. I thank you in advance for your answer.
Thanks for your comment. Due to its compact size the AudioFuse Rev2 is limited when it comes to inputs and outputs. The USB hub allows you to connect up to three devices and additionally it also comes with a MIDI I/O dongle. How do you sync all those devices at the moment? Is your DAW syncing your iPad software synths? Then it should also work connecting your iPad through the USB hub. For microphone and line inputs you can adjust the volume through the knobs on the device or the software it comes with, but if you are planning doing live sessions with multiple channels I would also check out dedicated mixers that will give you more options and flexibility.
Thanks for the review! Does include guitar amp simulations? A daw? And can you conect 4 microphones(condenser or dinamic)? Can you use the back inputs to conect microphones instead of instruments? It's a good option for recording acoustic instruments? Have a nice day!
thanks for a great review. i just ordered my rev2, and noticed that it says "Rev2" at the front top right while yours does not. wanted to confirm if there are rev2 versions out there without that label? sweetwater was one of the few places that shows an image in their product photos with that labelling. makes for confusing shopping experience. again, thanks!
Yeah, they started to add that label later on to the Rev2. Before that label it was only recognizable by the orange color. Guess that is why they changed that.
Hi, thanks for the video! I wonder if it is possible to control the volume level with apple keyboard. Many external audio interfaces has volume controls greyed out on MacOS. I wonder if that is the case for arturia as well? Googled a bit but can't find something about it, would really appreciate if you could answer!
I use the audio interface with my pc and in order to adjust the volume I need to use the control knob on the device itself or the control through the Arturia software.
Looking for something that had multiple inputs for guitar vocals and sunths and can be recorded via SD card as well as capture studio quality on phone recording any ideas?
Thank you friend, you have taken a good review. I want to know what interface you use and what is the microphone? You have excellent audio with zero background noise.
Thank you so much. I use the Arturia Rev 2 for all my videos, the audio interface I actually reviewed in this video. The microphone I am using is the Neumann TLM 103.
First of all thanks for your video. I am watching the "Audiofuse" ones for I have decided to purchase one - Only doubt is about the "getting super Warm " problem - I have heard that with the Rev 2 this problem has been solved . Any comments? Thanks in Advance and keep on - great job - Mauro
Thank you so much for supporting this channel. The Rev 2 gets very warm as well. The Arturia support told me that it is similar to a MacBook Pro that the chassis cools of the device, so nothing to worry about.
Greetings @Chimera State. Nice review, congrats. A quick question. Does the Audiofuse comes with proper ASIO drivers for Windows or how it operates on Widows sytems? Thanks in advance.
what do I need as a new recorder that want to sing, do theatrical roles for animations and audiobooks and some podcasts? I am thinking of getting either a Sontronics Corona or Orpheus or something different like the Shure 7B... But do I need a sound card to this between the mic and the mac or iPad? or something like the Volt 2 or Apollo Solo or this one recommended in this video!? Can someone please advice me so I take the right path down the road of home recording... thanks a lot for any and all input! 😊
Yes, you need an audio interface to connect with your computer in order to record properly. Regarding microphones I suggest to try different ones to find out which one you like best for your vocals.
@@chimerastate I see, yes... I begin to realise this now first.. is what mic fits your own voice that matters and not which mic one think can make my voice sound like I want... Thanks!
Great review. I am considering purchasing this interface. I am curious about the performance of the headphone amps. I used multiple headphones (32ohm and 80ohm) and plan to purchase higher impedence headphones down the track. I have had difficulties finding an interface that is able to effectively power headphones of different impedences without distortion. I was wondering if you were able to comment on this? What headphones do you use (ohm ratings)? and how was the performance? Thanks in advance for the advice!
@Chimera State Hi, I hope this finds you. Did Arturia fix the problem with heating through driver updates lately or is it the same? Since some have no problems with this, I wonder if it´s got something to do with the power from "the wall". Some countries are more unstable in this matter than others.
According to Arturia the chassis is constructed in the way of a MacBook. Heat escapes through the chassis. It still gets warm, but never ran into any issues.
@@chimerastate Thanks for replying! I´m pretty sure this will be my next audio interface, but since it´s been 2 years since the release I´m sitting on the fence a bit to see if they come with an update. I will go read up on their page too. Cheers! ( Oh, and great review, I have subscribed! ) ))
@@chimerastate In that firmware upgrade 2 years ago they did something regarding the heat: "New Power Supply management with improved temperature control". So quite possibly those users experiencing `too hot to handle problems´ didn ´t update the firmware. ;)
Hi there. Would really like to know if you feel the same way after two years. Is the hardware working A-Ok? I’m especially concerned because I have never seen a device cram so many features into such a little space. Thanks!
Great video. As an owner of the Audiofuse rev.1 would like to add the following. There are issues when using the card with the power adaptor under Windows 10 & 11. Card seems to appear and disappear from Windows audio devices. The issue goes away once I connect the card with the 2 USB cable on the PC meaning that it draw power only from the PC's USB ports. There are also issues when switching Khz for example from 44.1 to 48 when opening a new project from a DAW (Pro Tools & Reaper). Issue can get resolved by switching between the modes from Digital In or Digital Out. No idea what cause the issue but just a swift change fixes the problem immediately even if you come back to the original selection (!) my guess is that's a hardware issue. Sound is top notch and audio recording a breeze. Also the headphone output can easily handle high impedance headphones like the DT770 from Beyerdynamic and a nice tip is that you can have up to 4 pairs of headphones connect at the same time by utilizing all the available headphone output jacks ok it might not be the best idea but some times more than 2 output might be needed
Have you found the interface to get really hot when using? I’ve read other review and some users have reported that it gets extremely hot. Would love to have this but concerned about the heat. Thank you.
Those are the AKG 701 Quincy Jones Edition ones. I would suggest to try them out first. For many years I have been using them now, but am actually looking for new ones.
This is still a high price for me, I have a bog standard Behringer U-Phoria, what is the overall difference in quality, not being a pro I dont have monitor speakers. Thanks for uploading this video.
@@chimerastate If you don't mind, 1 more question: I found this "solution" on the forums: The Phones2 to Speaker B feature allows you to use a cue mix for speakers A, and a cue mix for Phones 2 which will be redirected to the Speaker B and both should work together. (*the analog gain of the phones will be used) but I don't quite have a clear picture of what it means, as I don't an AudioFuse. Do you have an idea on how it might work? Will the separate audio be going from the headphones2 or Spaker B channels?
@@ipoponq There are special cue buttons on top of the audio interface. Unfortunately I don't have a second speaker pair to try it out. Now you actually made me curious too. I recommend contacting the arturia support.
Thx for the review (like+sub done :)). I have a couple of questions : - can you use them as sub outs and route selected channels only to them ? - do they have an input to headphone output analog pass-through in case you don't connect to a computer ? (that would basically emulate a small mixer)
I am not a professional by any means, but we want to start recording some sessions, interviews, reviews in our photo studio, using 1-2 microphones. We are Windows only users, so Focusrite is not for us and I was thinking about getting Steinberg UR24C. As a bonus, it has some DJ mode, which would allow me to pre-cue the songs using some DJ software. I wonder, if Arturia would allow that too? It is such a design beauty :-)
There are different ways to achieve that. You could use a DAW such as Cubase to record the interviews and add an audio track later. The AudioFuse also comes with an AudioFuse Control Center software that lets you control the different inputs and volumes.
@@chimerastate ok, thanks! In the meantime I found the manual and it says there are 14 ins and outs (talkback is 2, so its basically 12 ins max.). Cheers! :)
@@chimerastate After some research, they update the design this year. They don't even update the detail on they websites, so confusing. Thx for the review.
If you use windows don't buy UA waste your time, UA run better in Mac, if you use UA on windows you need Asio to fix the problem with [Spotify, Discord, and more applications] AudioFuse Rev 2 is excellent for people that want high quality audio using windows. You can use on Mac too.
Hi, great review!!! really interesting. I talked to Arturia support and they told me they're going to upgrade this interface soon. It is probably they switch to USB C 3.0 and maybe the power adaptor will not be necessary but who knows. I hope they fix the problem that gets this interface so hot.
@@angiesuricata let me know, when you have yours. Curious to hear what they will improve with the new model. Greetings from Germany. Have a nice weekend.
Hi, can anyone please tell me if this is capable of adjusting the volume sent from the unit direct to the speakers without adjusting the ‘volume’ of the signal sent via usb? Thank you.
@@chimerastate Thank you again. In regards to the usb output rather than input though - this has it’s own volume control on the unit? On our current mixer, the Audient iD4 Mk ll, the main output fader changes the output on the usb too, this is what I’m hoping to avoid.
@@meditatewestmidlands8305 Through the AudioFuse Control Center software it is possible to adjust the volume of each input channel. On the device itself there are additionally two individual Gain Knobs for the main 2 Input channels, so you can adjust the input level on the device itself. In my setup the big knob in the middle of the device only adjusts the output volume to my speakers. If I want the input volume to be louder I have to adjust the volume on the channel itself.
Hi Lukas, the heat is equal to REV.1. I was in contact with the Arturia Support and they said that the heat is nothing to worry about, because the aluminum chassis is meant to release the heat from inside the audio interface. I bought it in May 2020 and am still really satisfied with. The heat doesn’t bother me, since I leave it untouched in the studio, but I thought I still need to mention it in the review.
@@chimerastate Thank you for the reply :). An how is it with the sound quality? I had in the past m audio , focusrite 2i2, now i have Fluid audio SRI-2 which is a bit better than the focusrite . This interface (audiofuse) costs 600 EUR so i hope that the sound quality is better. Im also considering to buy the apollo twin which is even more expensive ,so i would like to know how you see it :) ............ thank you in advance for your reply :)
@@sickprofessor I only used the audio interfaces I mentioned in the video. The audio quality of the AudioFuse Rev2 is superior to my prior MR816CSX from Yamaha. Apollo Twin is a good choice if you are planning to use the DSP plugins. Which one you prefer soundwise depends on your personal taste. :)
Very helpful, thank you! Two questions about the line-inputs: do they appear as a separate input in the daw? Is ist possible to control its gain in the Arturia?
@@zwurltech9047 Yes, you can adjust the input in the software. I use Cubase and I can set the input as individual mono inputs or as a stereo input. Depends on your DAW.
Good question. I have to say that I don't have had any connection problems yet. And I disconnected and connected the devices multiple times already since I changed my desk setup.
Congratulation. It's a very good review. As you, I'am searching for a new one audio unit because my "old" Focusrite Saffire Liquid 56 with firewire port become "obsolete". And just like you, I don't need a rack unit with 8 analog "in" because, in my case, I don't record more than one input in same time. I have a home-studio working with Cubase 12 on Windows 10 but it's very IMPORTANT, to me, to get 2 different headphones "out" and possibility to send 2 different mixes on headphones + MIDI In and Out, 2 separate speakers output, loopback, etc. It seems that the Arturia Audio Fuse Rev2 is the ideal audio unit for me, regarding of all the possibilities that I need to use on a such compact unit. Unbelievable. And last but not least, as I can watching on your review, is the TOP quality audio recording preamp input. Are they really great as you said ? I am very interesting to buy this one. Earlier, I looked to a new Focusrite unit but with the small units, you can't get all the possibilities I need and you must looking for a model such the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 3rd Gen. I don't want anymore a rack unit with 8 analog "In". I'll never recording 8 audio in the same time. Thank's for your sharing. I had put a "like" for you and subsribed too. :-)
Thank you so much for your feedback and supporting my channel. I am still very satisfied with the Arturia audio interface. So everything I said in my review still applies until today.
Thank you. I hope it will be mine in a few days or weeks. It seems that this unit is made for me. Ha Ha. All I expect for a new audio unit is explained by you on your video...
Having the same issue, fw400 is no longer supported by Microsoft even with the Siig pcie firewire card with the Texas Instruments cpu chip inside! I'm getting blue screen stop code issues! But I feel it's not fw400 it's reason studios 12 bugs, cause when I use Cubase 9.5 no issues but realizing I no longer have good track count even with dual cpu at 3.06ghz each/96gb ram/ssd/windows 10 pro latest build! So speaking with focusrite, the last windows build that supports fw400 is build 1804, but I'm not going back just to never update, now I gotta upgrade!
@@chimerastate Wow very cool! So if the Rev2 print is not there then the orange trim is the indicator? I just want to make sure since some sellers could be passing there old Audiofuse for a Rev2.

@@michaelschultze3595 Hi, I couldn't find a better link and you are right in the manual it is not very well explained. Maybe I should do a video about this. Yes, it is the 2020 model. It gets hot, but Arturia says it is engineered like this to transport the heat through the chassis to the outside. So nothing to worry about. Hadn't had any issues yet.
@@chimerastate Thank you. But I was a bit irritated. Because it sounded like a new version was coming this year. Without getting hot and maybe with small optimizations :-)

No, I didn't consider the Audient ID44. I like the two individual headphones outputs, but in comparison to the AudioFuse Rev2 I prefer the super compact size of the Arturia one. But if you'll get an Audient ID44 I am really curious to hear how it works for you. Let me know.
I use active monitors that are powered through their own power plug. It is possible to switch between Speaker A and B though, if that’s what you meant.

XLR inputs and headphones outputs on the front instead of the back of the unit are an ergonomic nightmare when the main use case is a unit sitting on a desk and connected to a computer, fixed headphones and microphone. No 3,5mm output to PC speakers is also a miss. Also micro USB is an old and impractical interface, how is anyone using it instead of USB-C in 2021? I was sold on a UAD Apollo twin X quad core and it's been the audio horror of my lifetime. Between having to purchase a brand new laptop that I didn't need just to get Thunderbolt 3......I already had a GREAT laptop.......then all of the plug ins I purchased TRYING to get it to sound right...I was all in like 5 grand or so. 2 grand for the laptop...1500 for the Apollo quad core...which would run out of DSP power and limit your track count ANYWAY....then AT LEAST another 1500 or more on plug ins just trying to make it sound right. That's just the beginning. Bottom line....screw anyone who doesn't get your vision or understands your perspective on your music and sound. We all know what great sounding records sound like because we all listen to hit records. DON'T LET THEM GASLIGHT YOU. I spent thousands of dollars on so many plug ins I'll never use. So sad. Before you buy an interface...do your research...and read the reviews!
@4:24 This guy glossed over this....but that was the understatement of the decade. He's right. Thunderbolt is considered by windows to be a security liability because the bandwidth is so large people can copy all of your files within moments so they don't write code to work with it....in fact they change the security updates all of the time with it and that screws with the code that the companies that make the laptops have to write for the technology.
