Aw yes we’ve booked the Sun Princess and going plus?! May upgrade but I think plus looks great and yes get that message to other cruise lines to add crew appreciation to their packages it will definitely catch on 😊 👏🏻
The way we've been doing it is to book with Plus, and then upgrade to Premier as soon as we board. There are several crew members right there to do the upgrade, so we don't lose any value due to the delay. The main reason we wait is that we use our onboard credit (almost always have some, for various reasons) to pay for the upgrade. Great value!
@@joffee516 Usually about $20 per day (for the upgrade), so under $150 for a 7-day. Between stock benefit, future cruises benefit, various promotions, we usually can cover the upgrade fully with OBC.

another great review. Superb. Not been on princess yet, and to be honest, they are not on my to do list. But I am loving th look of the drinks package. My wife and I would challenge you to getting through the cocktail menu. And I believe we would finish a close second.
Fab vlog! Love the Princess packages but the dining perks should be per week not per cruise. Seems unfair you can only get 2 free casual dining meals on a long cruise 🤔 Personally, I love a pivot table 😂 Cheers 🍹

Pivot tables in our next drinks package review😂 We are with you that the allowance should be per week or maybe per 7 night cruise, so it would reset for each full 7 nights you spend on board. 4 for 14 nights, 6 for 21 nights and so on. The only thing it would cost them would be an extra two speciality dining seats a week.
Can you tell me how the princess prizes thing works? How do you enter? And do you make reservations for the shows, or do you just show up and sit in the reserved section? Thanks!
Hi Brenda, the Princess prizes gives you a chance to win a prize every time you open your state room door when not in port. Prize could be a spot prize such as spa treatment or entry into the end of cruise draw to win cash. We saw someone win $3000 on out Enchanted Princess Cruise but to date (apart from draw entry we've not won ☹️) For the shows. And main production show you can just turn up 15 mins before and there's seating reserved for Princess Premier. They are marked out with seat back covers so easy to spot but if you ask a crew member they will show you where they are. Hope this helps. Linzi and Mark
But are you limited to 15 drinks per day? I can do that in my sleep. Hate that policy. And limits the value to, at most, $300 per day - but who is ever going to always get a $20 drink every time they order during a day?
We've never actually been cut off on Princess, and have on very rare occasions gone beyond that 15 drinks, or nearly every day if you included Coffee, Soda & Water. We get why they limit it, but in practise, unless you are very much worse for wear then we've not experienced or seen them cut others off.
Sorry, you didn’t convince me. We are not big drinkers, don’t need pictures, don’t use the fitness classes and would never order a special dessert. We drink maybe one or two cocktails a day, bring our own wine on board, have one specialty coffee per day, plus I’m Elite so I get 1/2 price on WiFi packages. Even with gratuities we would spend less than even the cost of the Plus Package. I usually have onboard credits to help pay for what we would spend on these items. I realize it would save some cruisers money to have one of the packages so each person has to do their own numbers to see what would work for them.
Drinks or cruise packages will never be for everyone Mary, we just think that Princesses is the best of the ones that are on offer at the moment by any of the cruise lines. You are absolutely right, everyone has to look at their own numbers to figure out whether it is worth it for them, and obviously the peace of mind of having pre-paid everything too, which we know is something a lot of people like from the packages (including us).
Sadly Princess insists BOTH cruisers in the cabin must pay for this extra. Not all partners can drink themselves silly. It simply doesn't make economic sense for most people. As an Elite status member, it is even less attractive. $180 a day per cabin? Really?
It's the same with drink packages, unfortunately. And those packages only cover drinks. I think Princess Plus and Princess Premier are better. At least they cover the cost of other amenities, too.
It is more than just drinks. If you think about the other daily costs it includes such as the crew appreciation and internet which is $16.00 (at min) and $25.00(assuming multi-device is more) per day (US), that's already $41 without drinks of any kind. Add a couple of alcoholic drinks at $10 min (which can be done during dinner) and your already at the $60 per day cost of the plus package. Of course the ultimate value will depend on you, but it seems like a good deal just based off that alone.
It is a shame that they do this Steve, however pretty much every cruise line does this too. It doesn't make it fair, but we also understand why they do it. Whilst it is still expensive (on top of the cruise fare), compared to some other cruise lines, and with the other parts that make up the package, it is a bargain by comparison! But you are right, as you move up the loyalty levels, the perks become less valuable. We have that same challenge on Royal now, as our level gets us four drinks a day each and their package is much more expensive than princesses
Completely agree, and there are some other bits they do over an above such as let you just pay the difference if you want to spend above the limit, too many others just give you say a 20% discount on the more expensive drink.
and as you say that's before you take into account speciality dining, casual dining, room service and such. It can get expensive very quickly without the packages, IF you are using the things they include.
You are absolutely right Steven, and we put a correction to this in the description and in the chapter heading to show you can ask them to be removed, which we didn't clarify at all during the video
Whilst I agree with a lot of what you said I think you are incorrect in stating that gratuities are compulsory. Sorry but this is misleading to some people.
You are correct Lynn. The amount is automatically added to each guest's onboard account daily, but guests can adjust it at any time before disembarking including should they wish remove it completely. However from our experience virtually nobody removes it. From the last time we were told ths (March 24) less then 0.5% of guests remove it. But we will add this note to the video discription for clarity.
J L, sorry you didn't enjoy the volume of our speaking, although Linzi is naturally softly spoken and a lot of subscribers and viewers like that level. Having said that we do want it to be accessible to all, and we have crossed checked it in the editing software and we are both levelled the same. Linzi's level also sound fine (away from the editor) when we are viewing it on PC/Tablet/iPhone and on TV, so can we ask what device you were using and whether you were listening with headphones, as sometimes the stereo panning can alter this.
