Hope you all enjoy this video :) It has been a long time since I made an "underrated gems" type of video, but oh well we are so barack. Next video should be me talking about something related to Rhino himself (like frfr no joke), hope you all enjoy this one.
The issue with Tempest Barrage, and the reason why more people don't use it, comes down to build restrictiveness. Nourish is actually kinda garbage since the nerf, compared to other, better options like Roar and Xata, but you can slap it on anything and get some good use out of it. Tempest Barrage conversely needs energy economy to keep using it (it has to be cast on every group of enemies), wants (not needs) range, and needs an augment to get both corrosive and viral. Which is a bit of a problem, as the innate corrosive also wants green shards to see its full potential. Rhino is sort of unique situation for Tempest Barrage because some of his better builds already overlap with the conditions that Tempest Barrage wants, and he often has a flex mod slot you can pop the augment into. By the way, there's a bunch of subsumes in a similar situation. Volt's Augmented 1, for instance, has some really strong applications, but it's trash by itself, requires you build around it (as to prevent it from combining), and a lot of frames that would synergize with it just can't give up the mod slot. So it gets passed up for other, less demanding options.
If everyone that played, Warframe fell asleep tonight and got Isekai‘d in to our operators. I would look tor a absolute know it all like you to carry me to victory.
If that happened I'd lock myself in Deimos and study as much as I can a out he vid, to learn how to fight without depending on a Warframe. I'd try to become a real void knightmare, to earn that Void Demon alias
What's great about it is the ability to strip and Viral prime at once without weapons. Using the hotfixed Ghost precept on Shade Prime on Gyre she can group, strip, prime and nuke enemies without breaking stealth. Also, Tempest Barrage will damage Nullifier bubbles with its explosions taking another annoyance out of the equation. By being invisible you are free to stack up that power strength even higher on her for permanent red crit abilty procs all over the place. It's nuts!
Yep, this has been my subsume for Zephyr for a year+ now. Absolutely nuts as the tornados also start armor stripping and viral procs. Idk what weird damage stuff goes on with her tornados but it just works. And yeah this ability is good on some frames but I promise on zephyr it’s absolutely cracked
Glad to see anther high class individual embracing Tempest Barrage and not humping the leg of meta builds. You earned my sub. Lookin forward to see what else you have in store.
This video was so nice, I loved how you also talked about the nuances at the end. I tried this build immediately and honestly I love it, no need to worry about Nourish fucking up your damage distribution and viral priming + armor strip in one. For Verglas for example, you need to somehow override its cold so you can get heat, and usually that is done with viral. But this way you can run Magnetic on it, and not screw up your heat dps. It's great. I'm sure on many energy hungry frames Nourish will still be better but Rhino is definitely the perfect example for Tempest Barrage. I think Dante could be amazing as well, though having no Roar on a status based frame like him is a difficult choice to make. I think this could be a great addition to Jade, Wisp, and Nova as well, as they are all not that energy hungry and would otherwise resort to a standard damage buff. I also wanna try if Tempest Barrage explosions can work with Spectral Spirit Dagath to spread doom, though I doubt it. I'll test it and report back. Edit: Nevermind it wouldn't make sense on Dagath as I run min range max Duration on Dagath.
Your weapon naming sense is so unapologetically chuuni, I love it. I'm not a fan of Lavos so I had no idea tempest barrage could do something like this but now I want to try it.
Inarioses dessication can spawn cats. I been using it on rhino and basically never think of armor anymore because they strip everyone’s. It also procs healing for arcane mods.
Dude I love your voice and your accent! It's waaaaaay more understandable than all those big warframe content creator and their AI voices! Thanks for this amazing content, please do more!! ❤
I get that the tempest barrage is strong, and it's funny as well on a few frames, but I still opt for nourish because it's a buff that lasts for a good while on myself. It's so easy and convenient to use on any frame in the game.Honestly, I'm even using it on hydroid so I can spam more tempest barrage :D As far as the tempest barrage goes, I don't think I ever use it on any frames as a subsumed ability. Most of the frames I usually play I opt for nourish, sometimes I go for one of the armor strip abilities or gloom.. If tempest barrage could 100% strip without archon shards I might use it more, who knows, but for now it kinda requires too much build around it so it's not that great except on hydroid who really can make the most out of that ability. Though, maybe it could work on Lavos or Zephyr?
Plus Nourish has two added benefits that Tempest Barrage doesn't: Energy Multiplier and Survivability by staggering enemies. Energy Multiplier is great because you can run Max Str and Neg Efficiency builds just fine, maximizing your frame's ability damage without sacrificing how often they're cast. The stagger is good because anything that stops incoming damage, even if just momentarily, is great.
@@nauticalgaming2256 I honestly don't care about the stagger, as it only procs once I do take damage, and it's ineffective against eximus units. On the pther hand that energy multiplier is the only reason I use that ability, as it just gives me more freedom to mod, like you said, for more strength and dissregard efficiency. Added viral damage to weapons is just an icing on a cake, but it doesn't do a whole lot usually because I run with viral anyway on my weapons. I don't bother to mod against certain factions, I just slap viral on anything and boost it with heat on status based weapons or with slash on crit based weapons. I still see corrosive as a really niche usecase on a very few frames that can't reliably armor strip or kill armored enemies through other means. Think I have those 2 green shards on 1 or 2 frames I like to play.. Garuda ar least has 2 cos I like to run her with gloom and I can't be bothered to collect half a million damage to the blood orb and use that to kill enemies.
@@1110jesse if you are a Garuda player, might I suggest Breach Surge? It sounds wacky as hell, but Garuda with Breach Surge has a kinda funny interaction. Garuda's 4 makes Breach Surge deal Slash DMG, which causes damage over time which makes even more Surge Sparks appear. Cast Breach Surge to stun a wide group of enemies and turning the enemies themselves into guns, then use Seeking Talons, which causes forced slash procs on enemies that get damaged by the Talons temporarily. Once the enemies start shooting off Surge Sparks, those Sparks will deal Rad and Slash damage, and because you used Seeking Talons they'll keep self propagating until either your Breach Surge duration ends or it hits the 5 Million Damage soft cap (which, if you're hitting 5 million damage per tick that's basically enough to kill anything regardless).
@@nauticalgaming2256 I don't pöay garuda all that much, and I usually go with the boring gloom build. She can keep the energy full at all times using health, and gloom in return heals her to full constantly. I still use the dread mirror augment to be unkillable when doing some very high level content in steel path, as gloom doesn't slow overguard units. As for breach surge, I like to use it on Octavia. I forgot her 1st ability name, that small ball that reflects damage does trigger those surge sparks as well. It is not much different than with garuda, the only difference is that you get invisibility instead of a riot shield or invulnerability as a main defense layer. But as I despise how octavias 3rd ability works, I really don't touch her unless I get her as an option in SP circuit.
You almost got me to subscribe. I recommend revamping your sound setup, needed to put on captions to catch everything. A _very_ good breakdown otherwise.
I have to admit I have never thought since helminth system tempest barrage rhino could be a thing (as to me only the charge felt clunky and replaceable abbility) . Then again tempest barrage wasn't always a good abbility before the fairly recent buffs to it.
it's pretty good as it alleviates the high casting cost/amount of many armor strip ability and strict requirements for full strip as well, plus you got some slow as well, why not.
@@amolistic_ it and cold procs seems bugged ATM as necramechs just stop moving entirely when my xaku is staring at em so it's been one of my favorite subsumes lately
I think you’ve fully convinced me. If I end up getting my hands on Vauban prime, I think I’ll add it so I can have TWO different versions of air strikes!
This is partially the reason why I like running wyrd scythes. Its not super popular but Im really liking it with valkyr. With prolonged paralysis i subsume it over her 1, so i just do 1 3 and slide through everyone or ground finisher them and it demolishes. Its a pretty solid subsume for more melee orientated frames, wish the slow wasnt so heavily nerfed though
Need range, need duration and need need a mod slot, and shards. In a frame like Inaros, where we don 't give a fuck about build, sure. But most players don't want to invest that much into a slow armor stripper and melee primer.
Ive wanted to make a tempest meme build with garuda for a while, you can give the barrage forced procs so i thought something like that would be interesting
I had completely forgot about Tempest Barrage. It has been scratching at the back of my mind. I knew there was something that did corrosive and viral, and I was using my Hydroid Prime with the augment this previous weekend.
The reason why tempest barrage is worse than both nourish and roar is that frames usually have other means to remove armor and apply viral alongside using nourish and roar which makes the usual subsumes way better. But I agree, I myself wouldn't use nourish for my weapon platform builds because I don't like the extra viral disturbing the damage distribution.
I aspire to be as informative and knowledgeable as you with the frames I play Side note: tempest barrage zephyr makes me feel like the armor strip avatar
Yeah but when i synergize with nourish it's a better combo as well so it's also taking, the rain i wish was great but when im just playing im moving very fast so lingering aoe is also down a bit. Also requiring a mod slot is rough as well.
I like shooting gallery its a way to reduce incoming damage and a boost of weapon damage not sure if it scales on strength but it can be better on certain frames than nourish and roar and eclipse :p
okay, I wanna say... I only saw this video like in the past 5 mins of this video and I'm actually running Tempest Barrage on my Umbra Oberon Prime. If only cause at the time I was trying differnt stuff out and tempest barrage was a good "AoE" point and fire skill. (I LOVE smite, don't get me wrong, but I wanted to try a differnt ability in a sense)
@@amolistic_ Harrow buffs your attack speed with Penance, has CC and shieldgating capabilities with condemn and energy regen on kill with thurible, and his kit is ability spamming by design so it makes him a perfect candidate for Tempest Barrage, and all his other 3 abilities lets him and rewards him to be into the fray. Ive been having tons of fun with Keratinos killing tons of enemies like a human blender, and with Tempest Barrage it will do even more damage, adding viral and corrosive procs, letting me never sheathe the melee back.
@@NoxxeRArtif you're looking for another frame that's fantastic with Keratinos, try out Kullervo. I shit you not Kullervo's 1 with a strength build is strong enough to make the Keratinos Red Crit on every hit. You can use Kullervo's Collective Curse and Storm of Ukko to upkeep your Counters for easier range increases too, and when you use Kullervo's 1 on something he automatically uses a Heavy Attack, which will initiate Keratinos' special ability and making the claws much longer. On top of all of that, Kullervo's Passive is that he gets +Heavy Attack Speed and +Heavy Attack Efficiency. Keratinos has a VERY strong heavy attack so if you build some Heavy Efficiency and Heavy Attack speed on it as well to maximize the stats you can turn the Keratinos into what I call the Red Crit Status Blender
If an enemy is at max stacks of an element, will it then alter the percent of status distribution or will it just still keep trying to apply that same status even though it can’t actually count it as it’s at max stacks?
Hey, also rhino main here. How would you personally make the Corufell REALLY work for rhino? Running 300% str, wrathful advance, arcane fury and strike, two tauforged for melee crit and two for shield (with some augur mods I can easily reach 420% dmg from melee retaliation arcane which I think is a bit underrated). I already put in 6 formas and a good riven for 3x combo, so I am really dedicated to this. I really hate swapping weapons to prime, so I want to try to push it as far as I can without priming enemies. It works very well in steel path and I feel like an artillery unit, but I wonder if you can take it even further. There is also the option of using crescendo to stay at max combo, but this is only really good for longer endurance missions. The corufell is an incredible one of a kind weapon that imo feels so much better than other gunblades including stropha. If only there was a heavy scythe skin, because unfortunately its pretty ugly. I would like to see you do your thing with it.
you could, if you are going for crescendo, maybe Piercing Roar + Stomp for ez finisher if you wish to free up focus school for Madurai or smth else (Zenurik is also fine tbh), since you are going for 12x, weeping wounds + gas kinda cook with this weapon because the gas procs from it will be pretty real.
@@amolistic_ Neg range Chroma, not Rhino X) your vid said that tempest barrage was better than nourish but for my Chroma, I don't think that's the case
@@stalarionjagarn188 ahhh my bad my bad 😞, I misread... Chorma wise, yeah, it does seem ill-advised due to his typical neg efficiency build and needs energy economy outsourced, and still provides what he needs and he still can make great use of that AoE pulse
