We're all guilty of over-using white noise risers as transitions. Here's an idea using Ableton shifter you can try. #abletonlive #abletontips #productiontips #electronicmusic #shorts
You dont gotta type "as a producer" in production videos lol. Its something i notice and i stopped doing it bc it just comes off as egotistical sometimes. "As an audio engineer, composer, sound designer, FOH engineer, DSP engineer, your mums engineers, your father, and the holy spirit, i agree" lol
i use pitch a lot of the time just because it's easier to go for the pitch/mod wheel than load in noise or risers and fit those in, usually for fills, variations, turn-arounds though; i think filters before drops are still the best technique because it's about sucking out the energy before you put it all back in when the beat drops.
I use Reaper and in that I would load my sample into Reaper's sampler which has pitch on it. Or I could check the forums page to see if someone already wrote a script to automatically do all of this inside of Reaper. Or, I would load it up into Battery 4 'cause I have it and I know I can play with pitch, etc.
