I’m relieved to see that this game is still in the making, I was worried the people involved were running out of steam entirely due to the last couple of years
@@FluffyIronGolems As long as the characters are original they can't do shit. It plays like Wario Land, but as much as Nintendo wants to, you can't copyright a platformer.
I know this video is pretty old by this point, but I just wanna say that whenever I hear The Death That I Deservioli by itself (like not in game) I always associate it with this video. The way Peppino's arm just frantically moves in tandem with the wildness of the song just stuck itself so prominently in my mind.
The fact how he's crying, sweating and also pointing like he's saying: "WE'RE STILL WORKING ON IT, OKAY?! WE'RE GONNA ADD THOSE THINGS TO THE GAME IF YOU JUST SHUT UP AND BE FUCKING PATIENT!"
This looks so amazing. Spend as much time as you need on it. I don't care if I have to wait years longer for this game to come out, just make sure it's as good as it can be and I will buy it day one regardless of price
The sick song is "The Death That I Deservioli (Version 2)" for all those curious. "The Consul" uploaded it to his RU-vid channel. I believe that Mr. Sauceman is the composer.
Genuinely took me a few moments to realize this was actually a game, having it just pop into my recommended I thought the title "Still working on it?" along with the frantic sounds and visuals of a pizza delivery chef, was all just a humorous joke referencing Pizza Delivery services that'll say something along the lines of "We're still working on your pizza..." after placing an order, and this hectic rat-race is that the restaurants go through in order to meet the typical 30minute delivery window. Also, rad fucking game lads.
"A delayed game will eventually be good, a rushed game will forever be bad" - shigeru miyamoto It's awesome to hear this is still coming down the pipeline, and it's going to be amazing, we can wait.
Curious about Gustavo being playable outside of the forest level! Does that mean he's gonna have a bigger role? Either way, really can't wait for this to have a release date.
I don't think it should have a release date, just a "coming this weekend" or something like that when they're positive that they're finished making the game and are doing last minute bug testing. We don't want them to start rushing the game.
From what I remember occasionally there will be levels where you switch to characters like Gustavo or pepperman (and maybe snick or mr stick?) for a majority of the level. Gustavo specifically gets 2 levels .^.
This is my first time seeing this game, it's everything I didn't know I needed and more. Take as long as you need, sir. As long as you finish it someday, more people will find out about it, and it'll only pick up more steam. Godspeed.
@@TheLinposterIsSus i regret to inform you that youtube only allows up to 60hz footage. the game (if it supports high framerates that is) will look a lot better when you actually play it
I love these new TV sprites of Peppinos expressions when he's running at any speed, Gustavo being playable but maybe only on gnome forest?, the new time bomb in the war level, new enemies in the kids party and this still working on it animation So im pretty sure when this update comes to his patron it's gonna be awesome
TBH I think the era of this game between the september 2021 and eggplant builds of the game is pretty interesting because it's not much is known about it other than they were slowly achieving the greatness that is the final game.
I want this out and I want it to be sold for 20 dollars or something so this developer can become filthy stinkin rich and get rewarded for making such good content.
The dev has been making good money on Patreon for a few years, look for Pizza Tower Guy. However I do hope when this game finally releases on Steam it makes a huge killing in sales cus these guys deserve every ounce of success and more for the passion they've put into the game.
I have rewatched this video at least 20 times for the soundtrack alone. Please for the love of God let us buy that separately even if some sort of cataclysmic event occurs and the game never gets finished. Its perfect.
The comparisons to Wario Land are obvious, but this game's art style and camera distance gives me serious vibes of an old PC Garfield game called Garfield: Caught in the Act
Oh my goodness, I love that game! I can see the comparison, especially with the TV stuff and even Peppino's walking speed and jump arc. I can even draw comparisons with Jazz Jackrabbit given how fast you can move with the stage design, as well as the shotgun powerup.
I first heard about this a few years ago when a preview of the SAGE demo was shown, and have been deeply invested in it ever since Good to see its still alive and well!
By all means developer, you take your sweet ass time. This looks phenomenally good. From the animations, to the gameplay, to the music. You take as much time as you need. I look forward to the final product.
Feels weird watching this after I was done beating the base game, sorta love how you can see some concepts and levels already being done before the game was fully released, with the only thing stopping it being the artstyle, kinda just cements the fact that tour de pizza was dedicated in making this as nice as possible, and its kinda trippy seeing the old combo meter.
Spend all the time you need, dude. This already looks like it’s gonna stand the test of time as one of THE greats. The music slaps, the gameplay scratches a high-adrenaline platforming itch the world has missed dearly, and THE ART. MY GOODNESS THE ART IS LOVELY. THE ANIMATIONS ARE DIVINE. I COULD WATCH THEM FOR HOURS. Also props for GameMaker supremacy
While I’m super happy to see the games coming along, I’m absolutely bamboozled at how much better the animation became. I shall continue to wait for this game patiently.
looking back, its kinda crazy how i can look at some of the unfinished parts in the video and just instantly recognize what stage it is from when i played the game like, nearly a year ago
So happy you released this. for every project that keeps going and gets finished, there are thousands that don't. I'm happy to see you're one of the few that persevere and make something amazing c:
What a perfect game An actual perfect game This game is so good it's inspired me to check out all of the indie-games I haven't been trying over the last few years
I love the music man. Since I was a kid, I was a addicted to Wario Land 4's Hurry Up music, every time thinking, ''Why does nobody recreate this song, or that chaotic feeling of VENIRE DEUS anymore?'' I am so glad to be still alive to find the answer to that. Thank you.
