Hi Everyone,
On Thursday Tom & I made a run on the Stillwater River from Horseshoe Bend Rd to HWY 571 in West Milton. The water level is much lower than I remember but, that's to be expected as the Miami Conservancy continues to remove dams.
It has been over 10 years since I have been on the Stillwater. It used to be an awesome smallmouth river.
While we did catch a large number of fish, the majority of them were 10 inches or less. My fish came on a variety of baits, spinner bait, rooster tail, wacky worm, curly tail grub and a zara puppy, (walk the dog) bait.
The weather was stellar and the water conditions were good. SPOILER alert, we finished the day with 74 fish between us and had a great day. There were just too many fish to get on camera and after a time, they get a bit redundant so I saved some of the good fights and better fish.
Enjoy,
Kelly
