Leroy Ray, I'm just hoping my wife gets one also. We live off my Social Security and she is disabled but can't collect SSI because they said I make too much. I don't know how they figure that. I get 1300 a month, but pay a 600 mortgage payment.
As much as I appreciate the recognition and support of our government..I also understand that its not a free ride..Our children... grand children .. and great grandchildren will somehow have to pay it back... unless the CCP does
Kevin Rehberg OMG! A sensible person 🙏 I had almost given up hope. I think we need to look at this as the "STIMULUS" they are calling it. I initially lost my mind when I heard people will make more money on unemployment (for four months) then if they keep working. And that if you quit your job due to Coronavirus, you still get those unemployment benefits. Insentive to quit? The ultimate goal is maintaining consumer confidence!! So in conclusion everyone needs to spend that money on AMERICAN made goods 🇺🇸
That's enough!!!! If any of you were disabled you eould ask the same questions. You don't have to be rude to anyone, we are all in the same boat. Be kind to those who have fought to safe your "FREEDOMS" to make idiotic remarks.
Thank God someone’s helping our government think critically. Many on Social Security would have needed assistance carrying out the prior requirement which would have put them in a position that could have compromised their health.
Melody Making Melodies why should people receiving monthly SS checks get ANOTHER check on top of the one they got this month? Senior citizens & people on unemployment are the only ones getting paid right now, we’ll, besides state employees like cops, firefighters, & city bus drivers, these should be the last ones worrying about how they can get their unneeded extra “relief” check!
Paul Newfield - Pasadena, CA. USA What you don’t understand is most people on SSDI and SS retirees still work part time and are still paying into the their SS and income tax on their earnings. This is money they paid in their whole working life and they never get it all back. It’s their money! They pay insurance, co pays, RX that’s not covered and 20% medical and uncovered bills. The extra money they pay in goes to you when you get old or hurt. I would not bash these people as they barely get by on the money they make. Unlike SSI which is more of an entitlement program with free medicade and RX. SSDI and SS worked long enough to get benefits and some gave up their health and still work. Hopefully one day you will realize what your saying is wrong. Maybe when you get in their shoes. Good luck!
Melody Making Melodies EXACTLY! My mother whom is 85 was very worried that she would have to go out to H&R Block and have risky contact with other people there!
John Anderson Yes and I still work part time because I have to. Most on SSDI and SS still do still paying into the system. It’s hard with 5 back surgeries that don’t let you sleep or stand upright but it has to be done. Good luck!
Grill Wasabi Sushi Channel Most of the Social Security recipients that I work with are homeless. Affordable housing would go a long way to helping these people
I don't know why everyone's talking about the Senators it's the Congress that got this moving. If it was up to the Senate you could forget it. But I guess now you 'll find discrepancies in your checks. Hypocrites.

It's only fair social security is from tax money people put in over years of work. You can't fault them getting old or becoming so sick they aren't able to work.
It's like this, so much goes on that we,re not told, like I paid into SBP retired from the ARMY, paid in for 360 months, my wife passed away 4 years ago. My kids are turning into senior citizens, and I can,t get any of that thousand of dollars I paid into it, my kids can,t so who gets the money. And I don,t remember anyone ever telling me the end game on this. And I,m 91 years old now, so a lot of use we,re just screwed on this, the same way as alot of the Social Security.
Very true on A63I had to be tire at 61 because in my bed knees can I even walked to my car. Cannot even have a destro because I have a development disability could be spill don't know how to do math. Only reason I'm doing so well I have a microphone their spells for me I'm on so security disability. So I filed last year when 63.
It's extremely hard for these people on ssi or ssdi to make ends meet and with everything going on I think they deserve a check to get through these dark times
Just try to live on ..or heaven forbid your home needs new roof. You NEED a car to go get Groceries. What if you have a car , but it needs work, new tires.????? A pare of pants.T sharts?

@M Detlef yes we are.everything is more expensive..some retirees cannot do part time jobs.I thought at first being on ss I prob should not get a check since I had secure income..but think differently now.
@M Detlef what about the people that still have to work to make ends meet? And on social security , they all lost there jobs that bought food and household needs.
Jenn Crane - we don’t need anyone tripping over crossed toes and breaking bones and filling up hospital beds...let’s stick with fingers and eyes...but only the eyes when sitting. :)
The other big bailout years ago they required people on social security and people on disability, to file their taxes like they wanted to do now and because of it roughly 3 million people did not get a stimulus check because sometimes people who are old and people with disabilities have a hard time being able to do things
@Google Is-A-BITCH This video said we don't have to fill out forms. I hope they are right. I won't do it unless I fail to get the stimulus direct deposit. Wish I could help you out, but you probably live in a different state; I'm in Maine.
This definately makes things easier. I am grateful. It would have been frustrating to have to help every SSI and SSD recipient in my building do this paperwork so they can get their checks. It just would have been the right thing to do. Again I'm grateful.
Rare Gem That's very sweet of you! I worked taking care of the elderly and hospice patients for over 20 yrs until I became disabled...I truly miss it! So, Thank you! ❤️🙏🏾
I believe SSDI recipients will get a check, but NOT the recipints of SSI Since THERE IS NO "SA-1099 " FORM EVER SENT TO RECIPIENTS OF SSI SSDI recipients do receive a 1099 form . Social Supplemental Income is a welfare payment to people who are disabled but have not worked enough to get SSDI I DO NOT KNOW WHO TO ADRESS TO RECTIFY THIS.
I am a disabled who work with other disabled, homeless population on Skid Row, Los Angeles. I would like to see affordable housing to get people off the streets
Anonymous ! Yes, that would be the responsible thing to do. They could buy a small parcel of land, put in a community shower complex, and build tiny houses in a lay out and it would be cost effective. The homeless people could maintain it and put the more responsible ones in charge of keeping the peace and make sure the rules are followed. A community building with laundry and shower facilities will also help build a social structure within the community that will help with those that tend to isolate and will promote better mental health and a sense of belonging. It’s really a great option and the only one that makes sense.
Kubwa Na Zuri Actually we treat addicts wrong in this country. Everyone has seen the rat in a cage with the food lever and the cocaine lever. They hit the cocaine lever every time. What they don’t show you is if you put the male rat in with a female rat and a treadmill and other apparatuses and give them plenty of food and water and other rats to hang with, they leave the cocaine alone. It’s the job, plenty to eat and the social structure that’s the real problem. If the addict has that and support they do very well. You can’t throw them back in the same environment and situation and expect a different outcome. It’s amazing what a good job, a partner, social structure, and support does for people without hope. Addiction is a poverty and hopelessness mindset. We need to treat it as such. I know very rich people with a poverty mindset. Beats anything I ever saw!
Skye Dragon7 WOW. God you would have a monk wanting to hang himself in about 5 minutes. I’ve never heard someone so pessimistic. Actually there are many self sustaining homeless encampments around the country that are doing very well. In San Francisco and Hawaii, they have successful camps that are exceptional, clean, and well run. You just have to know what your doing and have the right leadership. You will always have to weed out trouble makers, but that’s not hard to do. In one encampments they work and pay rent in San Francisco. Very nice places. They have a curfew. Some are in charge of working in the camp. The one in Hawaii is supported locally. Everyone pitches in. It’s not small hostels like the one in San Francisco but it’s tents and shanty’s and everyone pitches in. Not a lot of jobs in Hawaii. One man watches over the place and they survive in their little community and do well. They need guidance and a plan just like everyone else. They know if they screw up they’re gone. You can’t give up on them. Everybody in their life has done that. Even the mentally ill that aren’t violent are tolerated. Pretty impressive! It can work if you know what your doing and hold them accountable. You would be surprised how proud they are of what they have going and are very protective. They don’t put up with much!
Kubwa Na Zuri Some are lost causes. Everyone knows that. But you can’t throw the baby out with the bath water. I’ve seen it work in encampments. There are rules, curfews, and accountability. If you don’t like that you can move on. The majority of homeless that want a hand up should have the opportunity to prove themselves. There are those with permanent defects in character you can’t do anything for, that’s a given. But that’s not most. You get people together with one common goal with a plan and rules and someone to hold them accountable and great things can be accomplished. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. People that society has given up on turn it around. Some people aren’t sociable and isolate and want to do there own thing, that’s true. Buy for those that want a different life, they should have that Avenue with all the help they need to improve their life!
Skye Dragon7 Everbody is different. I took a homeless guy to get some clothes. I kept seeing him in the street. After I dropped him off a guy approached me. He told me I had been had.He said ol Rudy gets social security and makes $100 a day panhandling. He probably has more cash on him than you do. I learned a lesson but it didn’t stop me from helping the homeless I think needs it. Rudy and his sister have a house. Rudy can’t live there because he’s a hoarder. The homeless people don’t want him around. See everyone knows Rudy is a scammer and collector of trash. I didn’t know but know now. That $50 I spent didn’t break me. Those people aren’t wanting to change. I’m talking about the ones who are. I talk to them and I’ve gotten them in programs and watch them become responsible citizens. One guy, Travis, now works and sings solos in his church. Before we met, he lived isolated, beating off all day in a rundown shack. No electricity or running water, now he works and looks like a different person. He is a different person. He has some mental issues but he’s really a hilarious guy. He kept us in stitches and everyone thinks the world of him. In the beginning, I had to show him how to separate his dirty clothes from his clean clothes and how to hang clean clothes on hangars. He just put what he had in the floor in a pile in the bottom of a closet. He showered about once every 5 days. He didn’t know any better. Now he dresses nice and showers everyday in his little apartment and goes to his little job. He no longer isolates and pulls on it all day! He’s accepted and liked and it changed his life. This has been going on for 7 years. It can happen and does.Going from looking like the unabomber to a clean cut guy is a big deal and he will tell you how grateful he is for all the help. He walks around with a smile on his face that he can’t wipe off.
I'm glad to hear the elderly will be getting some help in the States. We seniors in Canada are getting nothing from our government except the 50% increase to the carbon tax implemented yesterday. Get rid of the IRS And this do at 10% taxes No forms to be filled out. Lay off IRS agents . Have a skeleton crew for them receiving the money from Employers So security should be No tax I've always paid into it. Citizens should not be responsible for the tax the employers take a 10% out of their check automatically.
yes he does look drunk, but not only that, I would love to know why these reporters are freely running around in the streets, while we're in the middle of a pandemic, there's non stop 24/7 live coverage, none of the people are practicing social distancing, including Trump, but the government has forced a mandatory lockdown upon millions of people.
My husband is on SSI he has kidney failure has to do dialysis. He does his treatments at home, for him to do treatment at home I have to help him. We also have a 15 and a 16 year old. I just wish I new how much we would get. That money would be a blessing for our family.

One good thing for me when at first SS recipients where told "yes, you get it" then "no, you don't unless you file a tax return", so I went to H&R Block. I couldn't do a Federal tax return because I don't get enough SS to pay taxes, BUT, I'm getting money back from State because I can file Homestead since I'm renting. So, it all worked out for the best in my case.
Have your VA rep get you a Hud-Vash voucher and get off the streets I did. Been off the streets for 7 years now. Yah you got to jump through a few hoops but nothing like you did in the military. And I have a 10% disability actually more I got upgraded. Some of the hoops is sign up for VA medical that's how they get you signed up for hud- vash then if you got a addiction get help. Then you my have to meet with a VA rep for awhile I don't no more kind of miss our meetings.
I so hope so too they deserve it that's one thing I don't understand why so many veterans that's homeless not getting help when they should be taken care for serving our country
Wow I got a stimulus check or checks when President Bush was in office no problem. So can't understand why it's so hard this go around. I never in life have seen such a problem.
How many days after Bush signed the order did the check come? Right, you don’t remember do you? This is one of the major problems with Americans these days. We want everything yesterday. Calm down and you’ll get it when you get it. And by the way when you do get it spend it local.
I'm on SSI but I went to the site and filled out the forms anyway just in case. Can't hurt to cover all the bases gotta be sure when dealing with the government 💯
I don’t qualify for this but I am very very happy it’s getting into the hands of those who need it and I’m glad the turn around time is reasonable....hats off to our government for getting it done :)!!
What if a person has direct deposit for their social security but their main bank account is not listed with the IRS? Would the stimulus check go to the Social Security account?
I am on SSI because I am disabled due to a bad back injury and two back surgeries so far; on top of other serious health problems. Do I qualify for these checks the President Trump is sending out? Does anyone know?
read through threads on r/SocialSecurity reddit. This information has not changed last 2 weeks. It only covers those with enough earned work credits for 62 and over retiree and SSDI social security benefits. They are both taxable income and have SSA-1099 on file as mentioned in the bill. The only other thing covered is still RRB-1099 railroad. For those on untaxable income with SSI and veterans there has been no development and even with the update on IRS website talking about that "simple file" still requires filing a 1099. During the 2008 stimulus package SSI recipients were required to file a 1099 as well. There is reddit threads on people including a $1 earning from lottery ticket (and even bank interest) with 1099-MISC and $20 babysitting with 1099-K Self Employed Service Gig. Now with an Adjustable Gross Income free eFiling is unlocked on TurboTax and HRBlock. People who do so will ensure they receive money with this first wave. If people don't act, and wait to see how this plays out they are likely to be looking at a summer payment. However, the Bill specifically states NO PAYMENT shall be made after December 31, 2020 so it is in everyone's personal interest to look into getting a 1099 on file with IRS ASAP.
@@stephenwright8603 eligible is pretty broad, in fact everyone with a social security number is 'eligible' (as in lower and middle class). But as I wrote above doesn't mean everyone will get it automatically. Even with the update on irs/coronavirus page talking about reporting a "simple file" whatever they plan on doing this month requires people taking steps.
Ive heard from a Representative of the Treasury department on the news around April 8th they will start going out. That 3 weeks is just time frame window.
Ed Moore, listen you shit bag idiot, most of the people on Social Security disability are people who work most of their lives and didn’t make it to retirement because of injury at work or illness. What about all the people that are still working and getting their stimulus check dip shit? The STIMULUS checks are not unemployment checks brainiac. Or to stimulate the economy. And there’s not thousands of people out of work it’s millions Einstein. Are used to make $6000 a month, now I get $1500 a month and I can’t walk , yeah I got it made. Go fuck yourself
@@maryelizabethwatts2938 You are wrong. Many people have their SS check deposited to their Direct Express card and Direct Express has all their banking info. It will be deposited directly to their account just like the Social Security Department deposits their SS check every month.

If you are on SSI as of right now you will not be getting direct deposit without doing anything. For all other social security recipients besides SSI and SSDI you will, nothing to worry about. For SSI claims, two things: The IRS website will have there portal ready that they are making on there web site in about a week. They are making that for folks that haven't done there taxes, are on SSI, didn't do there taxes because they were in jail and all that. I'm posting this because you shouldn't just wait for direct deposit because as the rules stand as of today April 3rd, you will not be getting it. You can either file your taxes,or wait for the portal. Same thing really if you want to save some money.
