Nice fish. Always great to get your target in such great style. Your mate is right about the pain them rays can cause. My wife stood on one in the surf & was in absolute agony. Had to take her to hospital, then found out, you have to pour water, as hot as you can stand, onto the sting & it will neutralize the venom. Another great vid, cheers.
I got stung on the base of my little finger after catching one last year, picked it up to unhook it naively having never caught one before and I can tell you it’s unbearable. It didn’t subside for about 5 hours, shooting pain all up my arm, lightheaded, sweating it was no joke, never making that mistake again
I have caught around 60 stingray, in the Canaries, got stabbed once, hospital bill 1500 euros, free hospital 1 hour drive doctor told me, in 30 mins you will be dead. It got me in the chest. 45 kg fish, whipped her tail putting her back.. 🐟🏴🇫🇷
Caught many stingrays, best off gently putting your foot on the tail and then you can get ahold of the fish to pick up, really don’t recommend trying to handle the tail. Great catch by the way 👍
Came here from your Sea Glo mates channel. That Sting Ray was bloody lovely, 24lb fish off the beach takes some beating! The blokes that I fish with and I are gonna have a go at some Conger in a month or so...... Hopefully that'll up our PB's!! Still 24lb, poper lush, get in 👌👌
Yes mate, proper 'Fish of a Lifetime ' and what is considered in most of the UK as bloody rare! I actually doubt most people even know they're in our waters!

wanna get one of these somepoint next few years sounds like they run off like out big spotted ray we get down near me in devon had one just under 6ib and thought it was a hound aswell they way it steamed off
