Since Sting posted that cryptic tweet "7.14.14.", I've been listening to his theme non stop. So here it is guys, his Starrcade 1997 theme with the awesome intro and thunder effects....
+James Lenjelo havent u seen it? sting actually lost to hogan clean.... they failed to make it fas tcount, and bret with his screwjob stuff was so stupid. after 2 years build up they should have made him more legit than goldberg during his streak.....
Everytime there's a thunderstorm in the sky, I'd listen to this theme song of Sting. It's like he's out there, hiding in the rafters of an abandoned warehouse.
exactly! I mean I haven't been a wrestling fan since 2003 or so, and when heard sting was finally wrestling I was excited until I heard it was against Triple H, I was kind of hoping it would be undertaker.
Im very proud of Scott Hall for creating the "Crow Sting" gimmick. Scott Hall didnt get the recognition I thought he truely deserved. Im also proud that Scott Hall was born in St.Mary's County, MD where im from and went to my High School.
When a man's heart is full of decit It burn up Dies And a dark shadow fall over his soul From the ashes of a once great man Has risen a curse A wrong That must be righted We look to the skies for a vendicator Someone to strike fear into the black hearts of the same man who created him The battle between the good and the evil has as begun Against an army of shadows lies a dark warrior The prevailer of good With a voice of silence And mission of justice This Is STING! Brividi!!! ❤️
As much as I love Sting no one was more over as a face than Stone Cold that year post face turn. But I agree, WWE do him and the business a massive disservice by ignoring Sting. He was the only one that beat the shit out of the nWo (until they managed to fuck that up at Starrcade)
@@THECH0SEN0NE82 I watched WCW and WWF on the WWE network from 1997 to 1999, and while Sting and his story was incredible, the crowd was deafening the minute they heard that glass shatter. I just wish they still have the network and not peacock. That library of WCW and other promotions was absolutely priceless.
@@ziahamm1603 If we're taking 1997 definitely Sting had the edge over Austin. It was not until they really fucked up Starrcade and Austin had his confrontation with Tyson in early 98 that Steve really became the man and the biggest star in wrestling for the next two years.
@@Jay_Digital im not sure. I think Sting had a bit of a limit as to where he could go once he beat Hogan. Austin on the other hand just had a rocket strapped to him and his journey towards the WWF belt was a bit more intriguing. Thing is I think Austin breaking his neck got the fans on his side even more so there was a big sympathy factor and wanting him to get healthy ASAP so he could get revenge against Owen and the Harts and then start going after HBK too.
I always thought the sound person botched it back at Starrcade '97. After the spoken part the break is too harsh IMO. But it turns out that's the actual entrance song...
He should have a run with the WWE championship.in my opinion one if not the best performers of all time.to bad that we will never see sting vs the undertaker at WrestleMania, that would have been amazing to see two of the greatest performers in all of wrestling going Head to head. Thank you Steve Borden aka the icon sting.
Words can't explain what we felt when Steve Borden transcended into the crow gimmick and then became the very embodiment of the gimmick. You think he was mistreated after 97 on accident? No, that was his punishment for taking wrestling to a height that no team of writers, no superstars, no Hull Kogans no Rocks or McMahons could ever reach again he flew too close to the sun.
Sting for Life WWF won the war and celebrate the legacy of undertaker. Rightfully so nobody but sting and Steve is just the legacy of undertaker and Mark ☮️
I’m sorry but this is the best entrance music of all time ! I remember watching Starrcade 97 as a 13 yr old boy in total amazement of sting . For the hell of it , My top 5 in no specific order are Stone cold , Flair , Hitman , Hogan & STING !
Hogan ruined WCW. He did great things from 96 to starrcade 97, but after that he did everything to destroy Nitro with his buddies Nash and Bischoff. Well done Hogan,
Starrcade 97 was when they blew it. Everything had been great in the build up but they lost the momentum with the Hogan/Sting match and never fully recovered!
Sting was definitely a bigger draw than Undertaker ever was, all respect to Taker for his long time in WWF but he was never the main man in Wrestling. Sting was the number one wrestler in 1997, 1994, and 1990 no doubt. Sting should have been the one to end WWE by beating Hogan at Starcade, but Hogan’s ego ruined everything and destroyed WCW
WWE wont allow that. Despite owning this theme. They want their own version of sting not the WCW version. Sorry WWE he will always be the Crow Sting from WCW not the vigilante
Could y’all imagine what it would of been like for sting to face taker at lets say his Deadman era gimmick and sting came to the ring with this entrance?!?! Would of been so badass. Too bad we never got to see it.
@@BigMuggs21 No, even that was screwed up. From what I've heard, Hulk Hogan did everything he could to make sure Sting would have a tainted victory. For example, he had the referee do a "fast count" that was a lot closer to a standard count. So when Bret Hart grabbed the timekeeper's arm to keep him from ringing the bell, it looked like Sting was the one who was cheating, not the nWo.
@@SeasideDetective2 I mean I get it, it’s retarded how hogan was so greedy and childish. But I’m just happy the story got a happy ending. And this shitty mess up in 100x better then modern WWE story writing lol
Too bad they never crossed paths with the Undertaker during their peak era. Just a stare down would’ve sold arenas. I swear the two are the most iconic figures in wrestling like straight out a suspense scifi movie.
What does a famous comic book hero (Batman) & A famous WWE wrestling legend (Sting) both have in Common? There both a symbol: Batman = 🦇 Sting = 🦂 Of true ⚖
Don't listen to this song at high volume. If you try listening this song at high volume, then there is a great chance of you having heart attack at 1:03. I'm not joking, I'm really serious about it.
@@jamesbetts3468 Was this the only time Sting ever used this theme song? He hasn't used it after the 1997 WCW Starrcade PPV! Loved watching Sting feud with the NWO. This theme gave me chills down my spine! Anyone love this epic theme song?.
Could you guys fucking imagined that lights go out in the arena. Sting.is shown in the rafters just watching silently the cameras cut.to the crowd to see fireflies, 30 seconds pass then the gong starts being heard and out walks the dead man. Taker gets into the ring and is silently looking up at sting. 30 seconds later the lights go out again and both men are gone..... Wish I could have been a booker just once, for one match. How stings debut in the WWE could have been without 3Hs EGO
The last holdout of WCW and WWE dropped the ball again! Could've had a 1 year build towards the Dream Match all the fans wanted vs. Taker. Instead, his first match is a loss to HHH and get injured into retirement by Rollins. Big shame.
