I think what shocked him was the fact that when he looked up he expected them to be scared and surrender but instead he saw them standing tall and ready to fight even when they were already beaten and bruised

It’s cause what he promised lector, that he will show him he was the stronger one, but like a weakling he hid and came at the l, he wouldn’t be at strong man if he had won a fight that was laid out for him
Sting learned the lesson Gildarts taught Natsu: Anyone can get up and keep fighting, but it takes true strength to acknowledge when you've been beaten. Sting saw them standing there, battered, and beaten, but still strong and determined, and he knew he couldn't win. Yes, he could've attacked, and he might, MIGHT have taken out one, maybe two...but the others would have annihilated him...and he knew that.

I think the idea was that he wouldn't be able to face Lector knowing he had to resort to cheap tricks to win. Fairy Tail were beaten up and yet the refused to back down and be intimidated. Compared to them Sting was a coward because he was just chilling and waiting to collect an easy win. He already lost to them in terms honor and pride so even if he won he still would've been the loser in his eyes and probably even Lector's which is gonna be rough given how much Sting values his opinion.
@@mohamedrayen517 He was standing no chance, each of them had still enough strengh to cast at least one good spell plus there is fighter like erza who would have keep standing up, grey juvia and gajeel wasn't that much injure. Poor sting definitively was no match
Anybody who thinks Sting would have won, need to rewatch the whole series.Sting was up against 5 plot armored characters ;antagonists struggle defeating even one of them ,he was up against 5.Jokes aside,Even without plot armor they would have smoked him.
but he was the one with plot armor at the time. Fairy tail literally runs on the power of emotions and guess what? Sting was full of that shit at the time. It's just that Sting acted as too much of a foil to natsu, who would have taken the 5v1 if the situation was reversed and won.

not it's not that he pity their current weakness state. He saw in their eyes that he still could not beat them, they have more resolve and spirit, no matter how hard he try they will still be superiors and winners at the end. He realized that in a sad way
Fairytail, the guild that made of emotion and feelings. This is easily one of the many moments in fairytail that make me sad even after years have passed. This one of my favorite scene so i keep coming to find this scene when i'm reminded of fairytail. This scene just remind me of what is fairytail.
Magic comes from emotions and Sting's had been at his most motivated over saving Lector but upon seeing the Fairy Tail members standing tall all his self doubt caused him to falter
When you fuel his emotions by abusing him unless he wins, and he sees the guild that will accept anyone and protect anyone even if they lose with a full winning streak, he knew. Had I only belonged to that guild, Lector would have been happy and cheering for me right now. Neither of us would have had to suffer. And the master's manipulation crumbled at once
Had Fairy Tail not disappeared, had he been lucky to grow up at a time when he could have joined them when they had the teams and support for strong fighters like him... It's a sad story. It's the moment when he realizes that they will save him and Lector from his master
Minerva was defeated, meaning that Lector was not in her hands anymore. With their top 5 in there all standing, not even including Natsu Gray Lucy the master Mira and many other sages that he knows about, knowing that many of this guild's members were saved from abuse by the guild, he knew his two options, and he crumbled before even trying to choose. It was too overwhelming and obvious. Fairy Tail's win was a win of human rights and a proof that love wins It's tragic because Sting grew up in a world where they all disappeared and the balance of the world was turned to the wrong side of it. It shows that without their work to help protect people like him, people like him could be used and abused and made to strengthen the bad people even more. It's true for real life too, if you think about it
I see a looot of peole mentioning this is the worst moment in fairy tail and how sting could have taken tbem all out......uhm...you do realize that LAXUS is there right? This is the same laxus that previously took on (i think numner 4 or 5) one of the strongest wizard saints, right before that, mopped the floor with a lightning god slayer, and before that, whooped the shiznit out of the entire raven tail guild with minimal effort. Laxus might have been tired but he was NOT gonna get passed laxus if sting decided to throw down. Not to mention grey wasnt really that injured. And it leads me to my next point. A pissed off juvia is not one to be triffled with. And thats also sayimg somwthing about erza. Who definetly was THROUGH with sabertooth at this point thanks to what they did during the games.
let's say sting SOMEHOW managed to beat erza, gray, juvia and gajeel all one on one which is impossible, he'd still get his ass handed to him by luxus 👍
@@kingflamedezun3469The sabertooth master wasn't really that strong considering what natsu did to him by storming the guild and if laxus wasn't poisoned during that arc he'll solo 99% of tartaros only stopping at mard geer and even then laxus would give him a run for his money
Im really saden by scenes like these. Fairytail could have been top 3 shounen of all the time. Character design. Magic world. Bgm and sounds were good. Unique magics. But plot armor and friendship ruined it. And makarov not dying even when faced multiple deadly situations or any character. Made this go down hill
This is not him abusing Power of Friendship. This is Sting realizing his drive was inferior and shallow. He realized that his "power up" and "strategy" is a shameful one
Bro aint winning against 5 plot armor. Also laxus and erza were there they were stronger than natsu who soloed both sting and rogue. They were injured but so did natsu back then
@@kingflamedezun3469He really wasn't more powerful then natsu. If you look back at the fight with him and rogue vs natsu and gajeel, you'll see that natsu never once entered his lightning flame dragon mode which is why rogue says later on that natsu wasn't using the full extent of his power.
It would been cool to see sting new strength go against fairy tail 5 going all out but he just gave up thus bad writing what was the point of killing the master and doing everything for lector he just gave up and lector comes out of nowhere

porque cuando quieren alargar un anime lo tienen que volver repetitivo , fairy tail y one piece son un claro ejemplo y la animacion en los primeros capitulos no me gusta para nada (aunque le tengo un gran aprecio a fairy tail por ser mi primer anime) pero las cosas como son( incluyo a one piece porque dicen que fairy tail es una copia de one piece) para mi tienen algunos poderes y personajes similares pero no puedo decir si es o no porque no me e visto one piece

At first Fairy Tail was in my top 20 but time after time of Friendship bs or fodder spamming villains I got tired of it. Also, don't you think something is very wrong with a show that a vast majority of people dislike? It's a meme at this point how many people dislike Fairy Tail.
