"Stirring Things Up!" Diane Abbott Not Barred From Standing As Labour Candidate

If Starmer has been outmanouvered by Abbot, then we really do have problems.

When there was a very important vote in the house, Abbott called in sick.

Over half the people in her constituency will vote for her , that is 15% or 2,675,000 in Abbott terms.

Diane has not been 'stirring' anything up as you put it. The labour party have been willfully ambiguous about her position and you might appreciate that she would need clarity around where she stands in an election campaign. There have been missed opportunities in the media round this morning to clarify the position. Like her or not she deserves to be treated better than this.

Not like this is anything new. She has got away with blatant racism for decades.

The main issue here has been completely overlooked. Starmer has not used due political processes. He does what he wants and he doesn't want left wing politicians challenging him. This is not democratic. 37 years as a Labour MP and ditched with no real reason! Put your personal comments aside (and consider where they're from and if they're actually true or if it serves someone/a group by having you adopt these views?) and look at what this type of action means for all of us. Can we really put the people of this country safely in Starmer's hands? Lastly - this is not journalism!

Dianne Abbott may play the race card, but simply the Labour Party may simply just want to select an energetic younger candidate of the future. At 70 she wants to be selected again, when the majority of MPs have retired. Don't forget as a younger candidate nearly 40 years ago Abbott displaced an older Labour MP, and now she herself should recognise her time has come. The Labour Party wants to select a younger candidate with a future ahead of them, rather one with a tarnished past with limited future prospects.

Abbot is the greatest asset the Tories have, please keep going.

My Mum was a member of the labour Party for decades. In 1986 she did teaching exchange at a school in Kansas City and lived in a black neighbourhood. When she left, a black neighbour told her "You're the first white person I've ever met who isn't racist and it's because you're British". Fast forward to the 2010 Labour leadership election. My mum was going through the paperwork and asked me who I thought she should vote for. I asked who was standing. She turned over pages of the documentation saying, "Well, there's Ed Miliband, David Miliband, Andy Burhnam, I'm not for Diane Abbott, she's a racist b***h". Abbott also, on national television, justified Chairman Mao's slaughter of 60 million people (as does John McDonnell). Genocide is fine if it's their side committing it (which explains their support for Hamas).

Who actually said she was barred from standing for labour If she has been given the whip back, labour anounce the party candidate for that constituency on Tuesday next. Why would labour not let her run and run the risk of loosing the seat if she runs as an independent all a bit odd.

It wouldn't help many suspended MPs standing independently, therefore labour shouldn't penalize or gagged every MP who flip flops or gaffes, otherwise Labour leadship will look like more prone to impatience and less accomodating.
