I watch so many different floss tubers that if you work on the same one or a different it won’t matter. Your conversation is like you are keeping me company while I stitch. So please stitch on what makes you happy 😊. Because then you are happy. That spins into great conversation for us to listen to while we are here with you. 😊
I always stitch while I listen and watch your videos. So it doesn't matter to me that you change things up. It is nice on occasion to have a wip update so we can see how far you have gotten along on things. Thanks for taking the time to share with us!
I don't do SALs and I stopped joining challenges years ago. The moment I feel like I have to do something I don't want to do it anymore. It's a great way to kill my stitchy bug completely. I do still set goals for myself, but I'm perfectly fine with not reaching them, that's the only way I can do it. It helps with motivating me to pick up a project more often without feeling like I have to do this or that. About what projects you stitch in videos, I'm one of those who love seeing a piece grow over time and I don't care if you switch between projects or only show one for months. The only thing I'm not a big fan of is constant new starts. It's more fun to see people add to an existing image, like in this video, than doing the first 100 stitches that look like nothing over and over again. But a new start now and then is of course fun too when you get to share the excitement it brings. In the end, I think doing what you want to do is the way to go. We're here to follow you and your stitching journey, whatever path it takes.
I say stitch on whatever you feel like at the moment. I’ve tried rotations so many times, and it just doesn’t work for me. When I feel like I’m forced to stitch something, I don’t want to do it anymore. I enjoy all your SWM’s no matter what you are working on. Thank you for keeping me company 😊
I am the same with stitching systems... I like diagonals, they really suit me but sometimes I feel I am bored and need a change, so I do a little bit of cross country or blocks or whatever only to return to diagonals again - but hey, it's quite fun to put things back into diagonal and sooo satisfying :) As for what you should stitch - you know that if you don't like stitching something it's no use doing it so I guess you should stitch whatever you want. I personally like variety and I don't like looking at one thing for a long time. You might even try the wheel for what to stitch or what goal to put on it - for example 500, 1000 or 1500 stitches. Like this you don't have a fixed rotation and things might be more fun.
I just love your voice it relaxes me just stitch what you like. I tend to watch full coverage people i couldn't cope with lots of small pieces and i am trying new ways to stitch my haeds instead of block to block although thats what i love.
I think that you'll be in a stitch along with almost every chart. You just are not aware of who else is stitching it. However, you feel connected when you see fellow stitchers working on the same pattern. 🪡🇳🇱🌷

River walk charm looks fabulous. I have always stitched one full coverage at a time. I have just finished my last one so taking the plunge and starting 4 to do on a rotation not sure if I will be able to do it,but going to give it a go. I am trying specific projects on Monday and Fridays, and then whatever I want on the other 5 days! I enjoy stitching with you because it's like stitching with a friend! Also, your full coverage pieces are inspiring. I just put a HAED in permanent timeout. But I am going to start another one soon. Needed a break. I need some finishes too. And I need to get my 14 WIPs completed by the end of the year (we shall see). In the meantime, I get more patterns and kit them up!!!! I love scroll frames and qsnaps. I tried stitching in hand - NOPE. I love my Lowery stand too. Gotta have lots of options when stitching!
When i was doing my investments into this lovely hobby i bought two lowery stands bc i knew i was going to only do large projects going forward and i wanted them stable on both sides. I do the "create your own patters" and their all 1200 stitches on the longest side with the shorter being about half that so i also got the widest scroll frames from omanik i could find that would fit 36" canvas on it so i would only have to fit in once every 10 years (i have 4 project planned this size and i'm almost 10% into my first one: 60K stitches). I am a monogamous stitcher and that 10 year timeline is being generous at 200 stitches a day.
It doesn't matter if it's full coverage or not. We all come to listen to you and stitch with you. I'm working on poltergeist pirates from Glendon place.
I make my own Q snaps with 1 inch pvc plumbing pipe. Buy 4 90 degree angle pieces for the corners. Cut the pipe to fit the size you want. The Q snap clamps work on this as well. As soon as you said minis have tons of confetti I was about to buy a new HAED in a mini. Ty. Phew that was close
Thinking about it now I suppose that even if a mini has more confetti, its not going to equal the amount of time it will take to complete a large chart (multiple years.) Mini's can take less than a year if you're consistent maybe? I have finished two in a three year span so I guess it boils down to how we like to stitch and how quickly we want to stitch it.
Oh my goodness, that chart is so wow. I couldn't get on with the fabric i used, and its on time out, with a possible future re-start! I totally still love it though. ! :)
I love your videos so much ❤ I also have a dilemma what to stitch, whether to make progress to show on my RU-vid channel or just stitch what my heart calls for. My goal for next year is to have no goal at all to make stitching more relaxing. This year I went a bit mad (doing pieces that had deadlines on them) and I'm stressing about the hobby too much. As for the scroll frame, I was so confused about them until recently when I figured how to use them and now I love them! The biggest one I own is 57cm and it's from Luca-s available on Amazon. It won't fit a wide HAED lengthwise but you can stitch sidewise (I posted some photos on your discord lately because I was having some struggles with my large piece). It can be triggered by specific sounds, sights, or other stimuli, and some people describe it as a relaxing or calming experience.
I don't think I'm alone in this-- SWM is where I get to know the person behind the camera and the stitching itself is largely irrelevant. Regular flosstube videos/ wip parades is where I want the variety to see progress and all the pretties!
@katiehower733 it's often referred to as either tent or half stitch and is a variation technique that is popular within the flosstube community. Some do entire projects in tent and others might use partial half stitches or full cross . It's a preference thing at the end of the day. No wrong or right way to work your own projects.
I've come to the conclusion that SALs aren't for me. I did look at the HAED SAL, but the only one I liked was Astrology Cat, which I already had the full version of. I did join the Cross Stitch Studio Mystery SAL but that lasted about a month as the colours were not to my taste. I'm having a bit of stitch envy when watching RU-vidrs who do 7000 -12000 stitches a week or over 25000 stitches a month, and I can't get near those figures 😢.
Wow... I would imagine that kind of achievement would only be possible if you were either a) retired , or b) working a lot in block colour sections! Impressive though. 😊
