I use fat blue tape any really cover air gaps down on floor. Makes it faster then transfer it to real template. Faster than adding little pieces here then trimming.

To drop those seats, have you thought about cutting a few inches out of the 2 seat humps those C-10s have. And make almost a flat floor like in the K5 Blazers. It may even help with your leg room issue at the dash.
