I have a short torso longer legs large chest, problem area waist even when I was a 120 pounds at 5'7 with a flat tummy back then high rise anything were quite uncomfortable but quite popular I had to search for mid rise. The gap always has jeans for everybody shape. no matter the trend they bring it!!!. Pants have to fit your body shape leg, booty and waist length and width to consider. High rise not for every one! Loved the shorts rolled down and loved the dress on you!!!
Iron the jean short cuff up with stitch witch tape or wear them without a cuff. I thought they were more flattering when you unrolled the cuff. Jeans are too small. They shouldn’t hurt at the waist. I do like the dress a lot!
I'm on a journey trying high rise and "extra high rise" jeans, I've worn mid rise most of my life (as plus size, its definitely a *wild* journey). I've learned that you really need to pay attention to the material composition, especially due to the belt section (I'm an apple shape, and it's been interesting to say the least). The jeans with at least 10%-30%+ spandex or a stretch fabric tended to work well at high rise. But I got some that were 99% cotton and 1% spandex, that we're similar to those jeans you tried on and they just didn't work at all. (Extra high rise looked terrible even though I'm 5'8", they made me look pregnant). If you want to try some jeans in various washes and legs, I totally recommend Old Navy now. With Plus, they have some of the best options online (I just made my order last week, and was happy with 80% of my order). They also have some good activewear for plus as well. Catch a good sale, and you'd be so happy.
