I love your dolls I really needed to see you do this because I made a turtle for my granddaughter and the eyes were scary now I have an idea thank you for sharing.I really enjoyed listening to you your just so sweet
I'm glad it maybe helped a bit. When I started making dolls I always ended up with square eyes ... but now I have a system I stick to and it works for me :) Stay Safe x
Thank you, I started doing the videos for the patterns in the lockdown, I honestly didn't think anyone would watch them. :) I think everyone finds their own way and its whatever works the best and the easiest. Thank you for your support. Elaine
Hi Dorothy Every doll I make turns out different, although I am more consistent with practice sometimes there is a face I really don't like and I rip it out and start again. Sometimes they look better once the hair is on. LOL I can't hide the accent! I'm originally from Belfast, living in Carnmoney. :)
That's good to hear ... some of those videos were made during the lockdown when I wasn't getting to talk to anyone ... lol so some of them I think I'm rambling :)
Hi Elizabeth, this is how I stitch the faces, I'm sure other people do it other ways ... for years I struggled with faces, and I would get my mum to embroider them. Stay safe. Elaine
Really appreciate your videos Elaine, so useful and easy to follow, have ordered from your website too! Obviously as an Ozzy fan also he will probably be next! Rock on 🤘 and thanks again. Awesome work!
Hi Rosie thank you, I'm glad you found them useful, when I watched them back I think I ramble :) I forgot that people might watch them. Keep rocking & knitting xx
Hi Jane, I'm glad it helped, its just how I do it, there are probably many ways, but this one always works for me :) Thank you for commenting on the post. Happy Knitting Elaine x
Absolutely loved that. An accent and phrasing I'm familiar with instead of American ones. Lovely soft voice. Although you should see what the subtitles do! I'm a bit deaf so I need them. Thank you so much.
Thank you Jane - Looking back on some of these videos I think I ramble on a bit!! My website address is ecdesigns.co.uk/ choose Knitting Patterns from the menu .... though have a look at the knitters gallery - there is a lot of great knitting there from people who have knit my patterns. Elaine
Hi I just found your channel and I love the dolls you make . I have been crocheting nearly 50 yrs on and off . My Mom taught me how to knit , crochet and sew. My Mom was from Ansley. Anyways I was making a lot of blankets and cat toys but I now started doing amiguruim I really like it but I am still learning all the tricks to making them . I love your video's and the way you show us how to do the dolls . You are calm and clear when speaking and you explain all the stitches . Thank you for showing us how to make your dolls . God bless and be safe . Love from Southern Ontario Canada. P.s I was wondering if you could do videos on just making the faces and diffrent things you can do to the dolls face to make them look as good as you do . Thank you again .😀😗
Hi Karen, Lovely to hear from you, I love knitting and crochet too ... but with crochet I'm not good at following the pattern so I tend to make the same blanket pattern again and again ... its actually a pattern that I inherited from my Grandmother (she was a great at crochet) its an easy pattern, but it looks good, every baby I know I make them one :) I started doing these videos during the 1st covid lockdown here ... last March ... when I look back on them I think that perhaps I'm just rambling :) But its lovely to hear from people :) Stay safe. Elaine
in my patterns I give the number of stitches and rows needed to make the basic cap, it varies according to the doll. Then there is a video called stitching in the hair, it explains how I stitch in the lengths of yarn to make the hair.
