STM32F4 Nucleo Tutorial- Control GPIO LED Switch

This is an STM32F4 Nucleo Board tutorial where we'll learn how to control GPIO Pins of an STM32F446RE Microcontroller. We will use STM32CubeIDE to write a program for STM32 Microcontroller. In the first project, we'll learn to configure GPIO Pin as an output to control or blink an LED connected to PA5 Pin on STM32 Microcontroller. Later we will configure the GPIO Pin PC13 of an STM32 as input. This will let us control the LED using switch. The great thing is we need not have to connect any additional component since the STM32 Nucleo board has built-in use LED and Switch to test the code.

If i wanted to code a push button to turn an LED on and keep it on even after it has been release how would i do that?

Yes you can do that. And I will make video for the same when you press on board Button then LED turns on and stays on till next button pressed. In next few weeks will resume STM32 Microcontroller programming series. Thanks for your suggestions. Wish you a beautiful day.

Hi sir I am trying this on Nucleo 64 STM32f401re board but as soon as I connect the board to my PC I get an error message of USB Device not recognized ? I have also installed the drivers. How can I solve this problem ?

Hi Aniruddha, I'd like to know which IDE you're using Keil or STM32CubeIDE for programming. I would suggest check your USB Cable with better quality cable and also try after installing STM32 Cube IDE. If it still doesn't help then consider turning off firewall and other software which may restrict your driver to update automatically. Let me know how it goes. Wish you a good luck

Hi Sai, if you want to become embedded hardware engineer then you must learn about some PCB Design software tools like Altium or Eagle Softwares. Also, you must know electronics circuit design. Usually, for embedded hardware engineers position make sure you know some basics of microcontroller programming along with knowledge of how to use multimeter, oscilloscope, analyzer, soldering etc. You can check some courses on our site which may be useful for you to become an professional embedded system engineer.
