Seems like a lot of power being lost though the drive train or does your dyno just read low? Most dyno numbers I have seen with headers intake and tune are close to 500whp. I know different dyno's can read high or low.
Truly love this question. In short: dynojet (what you see most of the time cause they are cheap AF) read about 17 percent higher. Long answer: a) to a tuner, the numbers are irrelevant. We work with what’s called “delta” aka percentage gain from stock to a tune. Stock c63 makes 350 ish WHP on my Mainline. 420whp tune+Decat (not headers). That’s around 70 whp delta. 20% gain. 20% delta. With long tube headers I usually get to around 440whp if the car is healthy. That makes it 90 whp gain, aka 26% delta. Need to check that with dynojet, however the key information to reading And dyno chart, is to see what the baseline was. What did the car put out stock? Subsequently we should see roughly 400whp as baseline on that 500whp tuned car. But then there are two more factors to dissect, was it inertia based dyno, or was it eddy braked dyno? Or was it hub dyno, and if so, what manufacturer. And then a complete rabbit hole: what wheels and tyres. I can do a 2 hour long video on that, that will cook most brains :) will be pure geek material :)
@@mdbelden I think most people know that dyno numbers are for tuning the car but it is also used by most people when they are gauging the performance of a car they might be racing. So if John Doe says hey what's your car putting down your probably not going to say. It putting down the best number my tuner could do at the time of day. Its running pretty good. Ok I take that back I'm sure some will say that. LOL
simple answer, remap it, and voila you have 510hp, mine is stage 2 with a miltek secondaru decat and miltek backbox pushing 535.9hp and 649nm. These engines are the same engine as the e63 but have different exhausts so do the remap and just a decat en 530 is easy, get a full exhaust and you make 560hp 670nm which is about the max without putting too much money on it if you wanna stay N/A that is.
@@EuroSurgeonNz Yes this video was very eye opening amazing can get that much more power/torque out of it with a simple tune... well done to you guys! do you have any recommendations for a tuner in Melbourne Australia?
Si, pero el tema son 3Kg menos en el cigüeñal, y ese peso menor se nota a la hora de revolucionar el motor, claro está que son modificaciones de la ECU, así hacen todas las marcas de coches...
What gains do you guys get on a 507edition with filters and decatted running software? I've done decatted and filters just no software yet so would like to know if the gains are worth it on a 507edition
Hey Stu. Realistically with full decat (primary), carbon detox, fresh coils and plugs, 98(e10) fuel you should see 530-540 out of them. Pair up with long tube headers - may even be 550-560. But it all comes down to what the car will be happy with. Cheers, Ryan
@@multiblade04 If the car has been looked after, and the tuner can log requested and actual information on camshafts, and see timing corrections - it will be fine. Ive done them with 250km and looooooong list of maintenance. You cant just say 100km is good, 200 is shit. All comes down if its been worked on and looked after properly.
@@EuroSurgeonNz it’s had motor mounts replaced ESL lock replaced oil change every 5-6k km trans flush 3 times coolant flush 3 times power steering flush twice and brake flush every 2 years
Could you work with my MB independent shop here in the US for a 540hp tune? it's a 2009 with 40k miles. I'm guessing there would be some sort of mapping sent to you from stock then you'd send a tune back to be loaded?
Hi , i have c63 amg w204 2010 , I don’t know if it’s stage 1 or stock , my car is far away from new zeland , because I live in Kosova 🇽🇰, so I would like to ask you what can i do to gain 88 HP , what should i ask my garagist to gain 88hp?
Hey bud. Sorry not possible online, but you can send me the ECU and I will do it on the bench. shoot me an email and will see what we can come up with.
Hi. Tasos does a weights video. Depending upon the model year some m156 received m159 rotating assembly. Its not worth much power at all on its own maybe 3 to 5 hp.
Ummmm hell no, why bother? Hpfp and TB are not the restrictors on m156 till you get to forced induction. You might be thinking VAG group cars. But even then, that convo is rare till you get to extremes. IE, upgraded fuel pump and throttle body on our 700hp mk6r.
@@EuroSurgeonNz Oh nice. Does naturally aspirated vs turbo charge or super charge make less or more pops and bangs or does it not matter if you have a turbo or super charger or naturally aspirated?
Sounds like a figure at the engine, which doesnt mean much. What is the power at the wheels, What transmission, and what mods have been done. Also, most importantly, what brand dyno and do you have a dyno log to check? Would be happy to help.
@@EuroSurgeonNz I have a 2009 c63 i have it tuned with long tube headers and primary cat delete but the power doesn't exceed more than 420whp Do you know what can be causing this?
Hey @@poorlilboy54 . If we assume that the tune itself is fine, there is a list of common culprits. The ones i see the most are leaking manifold (internally), carbon buildup on the valves, Camshafts wear. Best bet find someone in your area that has decent logging equipment and dyno. Log timing, Retardation, cam request vs actual. Do a smoke test on the system. More importantly, what was the baseline run on dyno on stock power?
@@EuroSurgeonNz with stock internals and with 500 HP tune , will the engine life span be shoter than the stock tune 457 HP like the camshafts and hydraulic lifters ?
@@EuroSurgeonNz that’s what I’m trying to figure out. Will a tune stress the components more and accelerate wear? I have 180,000km and runs great but I don’t want to start beating on the motor and sucking power at this mileage and introduce more stress to components already at high mileage and that’s what I was told by other tuner. What do you think at 180,000km?
What tune it is, is highly irrelevant. I can bet you $1000 not even the most expensive off the shelf tune can beat a carefully dialed in tune ( individual car set up, if we take two “perfect condition” cars). You can’t tell me that it’s possible to create a max power file, that will be “best power for all”. Also, we lost ethanol in New Zealand. No more corn juice, thanks to COVID. Now it’s sold as hand sanitizer for triple the price. Also, slight draw back, roughly 20% more consumption when you use the loud pedal. BUT SOOOO MUCH FUN!!!!!
@@EuroSurgeonNz off the shelf tune? LOL. We spent days on the dyno sending data logs back and forth to Jerry at Eurocharged. Trust me, he does it right. Not saying he's the only one, but his experience with these cars makes him one of the best.
@@EuroSurgeonNz I was there for the first run, left the rest to the professionals. Check it out in my videos. I recorded it then left. That run was done with the tune that allows throttle body to open up 100%.
