I gave up on offshore fishing a few years ago because I kept getting sick. I worked on a boat out of Panama City Beach back in the 80s and have probably been out 200-300 times in my life. We stocked our years supply of fish on the Chattahoochee River in April with about 300# of flathead catfish. My wife landed a 27# flathead and that's her PB. I spent 31 days fishing in South Florida and put another 200 pounds in the freezer. I just got back this weekend so I'm moving kind of slow. Looks like a great time with the family. Y'all should look into fishing Okeechobee and the Everglades. The scenery is worth the trip and you'll catch species you've never heard of.
We used to fish for King Salmon out of Muskegon MI around Labor Day. There's a guide on Lake Martin who also goes to Michigan and guides for Salmon. I'll try to get you that info. Try to get with us next spring for some flathead fishing. It's a blast!
