Time to stay focused, I work 3rd so when I get home nobody is up yet. It's me and my press, my happy place. Production processes are my forte, until I get to loading powder. That I weigh every drop. Once I was just starting to load my grendel, got distracted by my grandson. Ended up first round in my brand new gun, blew up the mag and bcg. Wrong powder, won't happen again. If I can't commit the time to do it right, I just stop until I can. Great video, one I can fully relate to. Oh ya, and be careful out there.

Reloading is a labor of love. If you do it to "save" money, you'll never reload enough to make the investment back

Lol. I think it's safe to say that was one of the justifications every single one of us used to pull the trigger. Good news is now I go to the range a LOT more often than I used to. Bad news is the savings was a *LIIIIIIE.* 😄

I did 5 inch gunnery work in the Navy. Humidity and temperature were averaged over 30 days vs 3 days to assess the actual velocity that had to be fed into the 17 mile ranging computer. It's irrelevant with self defense ammo at 100 yards. It makes a big difference with a 6.5 at 1200 yards I've been shocked the past month hitting gun shows in NC the cost of components & powder. I hadn't bought any in 5 years or so. Holy Jayzus!

I found the one good deal ever at a gun show. I ended up with 3 new, complete RCBS 3 die sets for $150. .45, .357/.38, and 10mm/.40 in February.

Love my 750, mostly load pistol ammo for matches but also 223 for 2 gun and rifle matches. But I may start loading HP and effective rifle ammo.

Starting Hand Loading in late 2023 made over 2,000 rounds.

With my current shooting situation it just doesn't really make sense to reload. I shoot maybe 2k 9mm and 1K 5.56, 5-10K .22lr, and maybe 100-150 12 gauge a year. Hoping in the next year I'll have more funds to put towards stocking, but it's already enough of a struggle to shoot what I currently use. If I shot more expensive stuff or lived in an area with more than 400 yards uninterrupted by woods I'd reload. I have saved nearly all my brass for at least a few years though, probably 30 or so pounds in a shoebox, if I do ever get equipment. I do have a solid casting setup if I wanted to do 9mm, but currently I wouldn't save money casting/loading 9mm if I paid myself $20 an hour and try to pay off the equipment. Machining up some tungsten core .30 or 6.5 projectiles would be pretty sweet though, definitely can't get that stuff in a box

I wish I hand loaded. I am so picky with velocity out of 556, and so many 223 loads are watered down. Like I want a 55 grain Speer gold dot or federal fusion moving 3250 out of my 20 inch, but it’s going like 2700 factory (if I recall correctly, don’t quote me on that). I’ve seen people hand load federal fusion at 3200 fps and that bullet is absolutely insane.

Would be interested in a video about what kind of spare parts do I need to have stocked back. As far as handguns and rifles in particular. What kind of stuff may need replacing at a certain round count.

Started hand loading hoping to save a buck or two, now I just playing around with it. Seeing what works, and when I have 500, rounds of a projectile that doesn't work, finding a way to make it work. No more factory seconds for me.

@@jcdenton4847 I’ve not tested at an outdoor range or gel tested yet as I don’t have access to that in my immediate area but want to shortly. Have heard good enough things about them to start the stocking process. I’ve used other aac ammo in my 300 and they cycle nicely and relatively low in killing your with shitty gases lol

@vitaminme4203 thought about getting few boxes for mainly just target shooting out at further distances see how my rifle likes em since they're on cheaper side but havnt looked much into aac ammo. Thanks. Made mistake of getting 1000 rnds of golden tiger 223 and the primers hardly go off in my ar after getting enhanced trigger spring or even my 556 ak so never by bulk again before testing lol

Interesting I really want to get into this and doing a business of making ammo. I want to know would certain measurements from other data books work together for example using a 556 round with a mix of a hornandy and winchester book to make a better 556 round ? Also what's your view on monolithic rounds ?

Nice! I recognize Heartland in the intro. Just few miles north of my house. How is it since Hornady took over management?

Indeed it is Heartland. The guy that took over running it is a close friend and former sheriff not to mention a phenomenal handgunner. He is an incredible person, and a real shooter if anything heartland is about to be better than ever. If you go see him tell him Freedom says hey and ask him to play with one of his Staccatos.

What do you think about TMK’s bs SMK’s for defensive ammo?
@unclefreedom213
@unclefreedom213 15 дней назад
They work they are inconsistent in the manner in which they deliver that terminal performance which is a function of the round design. They deliver consistent terminal effects but deliver that consistent terminal in an inconsistent depth or penetration. As long as you understand that they are hard to beat if toure not shooting through barriers

First, I have to correct you on one thing. The President cannot dictate to private companies to stop making/selling ammo. He is violating the Second Amendment, and Congress would not allow this. I do agree on reloading. I have been harping about this for years.
@unclefreedom213
@unclefreedom213 12 дней назад
are you referring to Lake City? If so that's a government production facility own by the government and contractually run by private companies. Federal ran it for years and now winchester does so he can shut down civilian sales of seconds or surplus as they're not a owner of the lake city plant

Way too much work. It’s far easier to run to the store, order off of the internet, and get bullets in hand. Good enough is perfect. Hit target at 300 center mass vs hit target at 300 center mass pinpoint of where your aiming. Dead is dead and a hit is a hit. I’ve dealt with squibs from my buddies rifle, and his hand loads. I’ve never had one from the factory.
