@liz, I live in Fl, but spending time at my summer place in northern Wisconsin and the economy is really hurting. In my entire life, I have never seen so much financial pain up here. Everything is for sale, land, homes, RVs, snowmobiles, ATVs, UTVs etc…. The grocery store is more expensive than Publix in Florida.

the idea is to look for stocks that have paid steady, increasing dividends for years (or decades), and have not cut their dividends even during recessions, speaking with a proper advisor can be very useful most times in getting the job done
The issue is that most people have the “I want to do it myself mentality” without being well-qualified, hence get burnt during crash, no offense intended. Thankfully, I've attained nearly 7-figure after subsequent investments, since the rona-outbreak in Jan.2020 to date, only cos I know enough to seek expert counsel at uncertain times

So tired of hearing about the fed. The fed is a straight side show clown at this point. All that matters is the fiscal/deficit trajectory & inflation and the response of the long end of the curve.
I’ve lost all faith in the professional investment community. Just talking heads trying to explain what happened, while 12 year olds on Reddit plow money into the highest market cap names on earth and double their money. Something fundamentally has changed
