How about one on Oliveira? A video analyzing the difference in mentality between him when he was an inconsistent Featherweight to a dangerous Lightweight could be fascinating. Great vid as always
Big fan of your channel, and would love to see another volk one and how he adjusts and has kept evolving, or how trash talk on Khabib and others fails and others it works on...but great channel..keep up good work, thx for the videos..
Personally, I dont care hoy many times Yan may lose a fight in the scorecard or wathever. I see him as the embodyment of what a fighter should aspire to be, both mentally and fisically
@@bv6377 Aljo had hands up, and someone in his corner thought the knee was a good idea. Sterling's a bitch, the 2nd fight he lost as well, and guess what after that neck surgery he wasn't tested for peds, well well, would you look at that, he was never stronger than Yan, he just bitched up.
@@Shortz4Funn a cut isn't enough to give him the whole match. Round 1 and round 2 went to yan easily, u can give 3 to sean because of the cut but other than that he lost.
@@NotoriousMohamed sure yan had more control time on the ground but it wasn’t doing no damage to Sean. Sean had significantly more strikes and did way more damage
Here after Yan's 2nd straight split dec loss. Yan is a killer. A style like his can't flourish in American MMA's restrictions. If PRIDE was still around he would be an all time great there. But for now guys like Yan will never reach the great heights they deserve to reach because of things out of their control like politics and war.
Which is hilarious, because if anyone gets fucked over by the Russian government it’s Siberians. So the judges are biased against him because of what his government (the same government that does nothing for him and his home community) started a war. How in the world is that Yan’s fault? If that really is why he got those BS decision losses, the judges should be ashamed.
Petr Yan is 31. He lives like a spartiate which slow down ageing compared to most. He has at least 5 years during which he can evolve, prime peak and get the belt back again. He deserves it. His real loss is vs merab. vs sean it is a draw if not a win for him, and vs sterling a dq. never subbed never koed.
Everyone has a natural inclination to seeking out truth, so to become spiritually uplifted, sadly we are obstructed by damaging philosophies and wicked men.
Why did I want to cry listening to this. Struck a deep chord in me truly. Unfamiliar with stoicism and it's ideals before now but have been a big fan of Yan's for a couple years.
I think the way he took the judges decision in his fight against sean, showed his stoicistic mindset. He posted "fuck the judges" in his story and kept enyoing Abu Dhabi and having fun with his family, while other fighters said that they wanted to kill themselves after a wrong decision. Sorry for my bad english.
@@PsychologyOfTheFight This video was terrible. Squeakers like the dude above, think it's good. But you're a casual little beta male and you're a sheep. You follow the masses and copy. Didn't even watch your video, you have 12k subs. LMFAOOOOO. Get a day job bud
Thanks yan and this yt-er. This is the first ever video i ever watched in 4 years where i actually focused and didnt scroll to the comments or get lose in thought.
As someone that practices stoicism, the angle and perspective you’ve made this video from is amazing. Please do more. This channel will blow up really soon! Keep up the great work
The way he’s handled the entire Sterling situation is so revealing as well. In comparison to O’Malley who still to this day is in complete denial about his loss to Chito. You cannot grow in delusion.
@@PsychologyOfTheFight your presuming omalley is delusional but he’s intentionally marketing his appearance hence has to act according to his suga show character
Actually yan acted like a big baby during the sterling rivalry it was annoying seeing him and his fans blame his opponent for him getting himself disqualified
@@Thiccs4Life yeah sure budy, i think is being smart, after all he is the one putting his life on the line, not you, if the judges will always turn him off by the decision of the corporation in favor of the popular fighter, then he is better in another company.
I wouldn’t say massive but I thought he won the fight. It’s just annoying how SOMETIMES (sandhagen vs dillashaw) control time and takedowns matter, and other times they don’t.
@@openmind2546 exactly, in the gane vs ngannou fight the useless takedowns and "control time" won ngannou the belt even tho he was completely outclassed everywhere else. Now all of a sudden they don't matter anymore
The hardwork you're putting in man you deserve better. And I believe one day, one video will catch on and you'll be rockin' with millions of views on each video. Keep growing. Appreciate your work and waiting for the next one.
It’s pretty amazing that this video was created. It’s a perfect expression that solidifies the visceral reaction I had when first seeing a Yan fight. His persona, fighting style, and appearance screams stoicism which makes the thumbnail all the more brilliant. It’s like you took a feeling many of us probably had about Yan and projected onto our screens. It’s a trip. I’m also micro-dosing so that could be it too but good shit man.
So glad algorithm suggested this to me. I've been wanting to do a deep dive into stoicism for several months now, and Petr Yan is my favorite UFC fighter, this is actually a crazy coincidence haha!
Great video, channel and suggestion! Would the creator be interested in organisations outside of the UFC? If so, you should look in to Fedor, Cro Cop and Wanderlei regarding staredowns.
Lol pussies looking for strength through ufc and fight vids on RU-vid. You wanna feel strong go to a Muay Thai gym. You can’t think yourself out of your pussy state. You actually have to BE not pussy
Thank you so much! I often would wonder if my content wasn’t that good, and that’s why it wasn’t getting many views, but it’s comments like this that motivate me to keep going! I sincerely appreciate you.
yeah i thought the Aljo fight should've been a NC, then he beat Sandhagen clearly, then a very close fight against Aljo, could've gone either way, I do think by the end of the fight Yan showed who was the better fighter - but he's a slow starter. Then he definitely should've gotten the win against O Malley.
Love this, love the video and also always interesting to see the parallels between Stoicism and Buddhism (the latter in which I'm far more familiar with). I will say that one thing I really appreciate about Buddhism is the clarity in the concept of equanimity. I'd say that emotions actually aren't within our control, but how we meet them and act on them is. So it's not about repressing emotions, quite the opposite, it's about accepting them as inevitable and knowing we must face discomfort, and even giving ourselves the space to acknowledge and feel our emotions, but then acting from a larger perspective. Real emotional mastery is not control, but the ability to let our emotions run through us unimpeded, without letting them cloud our actions or decision making.
@@PsychologyOfTheFight I saw a comment I liked about Charles oliviera, u have covered alot of the fighters I like alot. Charles oliviera and Tj dillishaw be good (even if it’s negative lol) Israel Adensanya (even if it’s negative).
I was just scrolling through RU-vid and I found this so interesting... Stoicism, something I've been working on for the past year and Piotr Yan, a fighter I admire so bad. Thanks for this!
Petr deserves his time in the sun, he's been robbed many times. The ufc portrays him as a bad guy to get hype up for up and coming fighters and sway decisions to make it more glorified. O malley got rocked, he looked like Bambi out there while Yan controlled the show. O malley got a couple of shots in but even after the fight he was out of it had to put on sunglasses to hide the thousand mile stare from being rocked so hard, Yan walked off composed.
This video was amazing love Petr Yan and have gained an even deeper understanding of stoicism thank you Psychology super amazing informal video Thank you
Stoicism is not about controlling your emotions. Its more about letting your emotions come and go trough yourself and accepting the fact what happened and not fighting against what happened in the outside world. Its more about controlling your toughts which will leed to how you react emotionally. But not controlling your emotions. Emotions are very important. It is an natural safing mechanism of our body. Controllong, or rather, shutting of your emotions can be fatal for your life!!!
Amazing work, you're clearly both talented and hardworking. Your videos are always so well constructed. I would be absolutely thrilled to see a video on Oliveira's mentality switch, as it is quite unique to see an average MMA fighter become an absolute finishing machine. But whatever you choose to do next, I will happily watch it.
What’s fascinating is Yan is like a algorithm fighting robot, he downloads his opponents info in real time and adjusts accordingly. Id like to see him climb up the ladder again and take the belt. Being how stacked the division is it will only attest to his greatness
I'm so thankful that you make an example out of Pëtr. I think every bit of publicity is great for him, because part of why he treated so poorly bu judges lately is because of the lack of that public stunts. Every bit is helping, I think he's an amazing fighter and if he leaves the UFC it is for the worse for every side: for UFC, for him and for fans
Petr Yan is my favourite ufc fighter. Followed by Topuria and Umar. I wish Yan beat Figuereido and fight Umar and Topuria later. He was champ and should be champ again.
Yan is AWESOME!! He was a dominant champ. Unfortunately the ufc / Dana canceled him because he didn’t speak English…. Aljo is a great actor and a huge weight bully…. Walking around at 180-190 and getting down all the way to 135…. That’s what separates the best fighting promotion ONE Championship from the UFC there hydration rules to prevent weight bully’s… Peter never lost to aljo or suga Sean… he was canceled just like the goat Mighty Mouse ❤
Keep these coming 🔥 what an amazing video such incredible production value and you’ve have such an intriguing insight into both the fighter and a much broader story of mental fortitude and stoicism. I’ve seen every video you’ve made now - what excellent work you’ve done man.
@@PsychologyOfTheFight You deserve the praise. Not only are these videos unique and novel - they're deeply insightful. They tell a story which your viewers can relate to and internally yearn for. I'm glad you get props from so many commenters - you're doing a real service making these for us. Cheers man, you're awesome!
Wow! RU-vid algorithm just recommended me to your video and the quality is top notch! Keep up the great work! Yan still one of my favorite fighters in UFC, his style of fighting and the way he carries himself. He should have won this last fight against Sean if the judges scored the same way they scored Yan vs Sterling 2. All Aljo did was spoon Yan with no damage and Yan defended every submission attempt. We all know they gave it to Sean because he’s the more marketable fighter and Danas new cash cow. Like a wise stoic fighter once said, “it is what it is”.
if he decides to leave the UFC i will keep watching him on whatever he is choosing to do next he is such a great fighter and very fun too watch fell bad for him that dark spot in his career will always be there
I love the way you analyze all these fighters! Keep it up! Also i think it would be interesting if you analyzed the flip side of this video, which is how fighters like Dominick Reyes have suffered after a controversial loss because of their mindset 😮
Psychology, and MMA? Oh damn I am curious about this page. It's why I prefer MMA and F1 over other more mainstream sports...the mindset and different stages of the thought processing you witness. You find wonderful correlations. I am glad someone else even attempted a page at this stuff. I'll be sure to see what the page is looking like. Stay up, stay positive.
I think you will get a lot more views if you keep making videos like this for other hard working and focused fighters because I'll certainly be watching liking and commenting on the rest of them
