I remember Stoke as a place my Mum and Dad would take me on holiday every year during the late fifties and through the sixties. We would stay with my aunt in Chuch Terrace Cobridge. I loved the area with its Pot Banks, pit workings, slag heaps, marl holes, frightening Shelton steelworks with its red glow in the sky at night and the loop line and other railway lines that crisis-crossed the five towns. I loved it all! Having visited in recent years I've witnessed the decline of the city as the various industries and support businesses have declined and disappeared. As an outsider, it makes me sad to see the decline, and I can only guess at how the indigenous inhabitants of the five towns must despair at the state of it all.
In all of your excellent videos I just love your choice of music. Keep it coming. I was brought up in Weston Coyney, Silverdale and Chesterton before being transported to Western Australia at the age of 13. Can you imagine what that was like? Anyway, I am grateful for your videos on Stoke etc although they seem rather depressing to watch compared to when I lived there.

Apparently we had a family member who was transported to Australia during the potteries riots I’ve found out through ancestry. It’s interesting because my RU-vid stats which obviously you guys don’t get to see show what percentage of people are watching from where and apart from obviously Great Britain the USA or Australia are always in the top 2. It really blows me away that these videos have such a far reach. Sorry for them been depressing videos 🤣but I’ve always set out to show the decline and mismanagement of this once proud city. Glad you are enjoying them and it certainly gives one the encouragement to film more 👍
Those houses used to be lived in by hard working people , then the landlords took over and filled them with shit . Slums don’t just happen , people with no pride for where they live create them . Sad to see the state Stoke on Trent has become . I can see why Land Rover moved their car sales garage to Stafford . Maybe we shoud use some of the labour currently residing at her majesties pleasure i.e. taxpayers expense to clean and tidy some of this up. These were once thriving little comunities, give the places back some pride and folks will move back. Clear out the fkng dope heads and sell the houses as starter homes, get young ones onto the property ladder at a reasonable price.
No not had them guys and to be fair even if i did I’d tell them jog on 🤣because i started this channel to show the decline of stoke and its town Centre’s. I truly believe the videos that have gone viral by myself and st audits has shamed the council into cracking down on the allyways so that can only be a positive. And anyway stoke is the city that keeps on giving 🤣always plenty to find.
