The short answer is NO, it can't replace the Jet Boil because you can't "cook" in it. It only boils. Drink boils then shuts down; Eat only boils but stays on, Pop cycles from 110W-210W until it reaches 165W, then shuts down. There is no "cooking/simmer" mode. Pop is a waste, the first time you put that in storage after cooking popcorn, you'll never use it again - it stinks. Pop should be a Simmer mode that reached 145* and holds temp there - it's a shame that they opted for a novelty setting vs a functional setting.
