I love any chance I get to check out a new run, especially one that has a sequence like Big Falls on it! I had seen plenty of footage but never got the chance to go in there, but couldn't think of a better time to check it out then taking out the Gnarvanas! Not only was the sequence sick, but getting to try the Gnarvana on a harder stout, getting sick skips, got us all STOKED!

That river is all foam, yet that boat stays right on top of it! And that guy who did that series of boofs just perfectly... Really a treat to see! Such a fun edit to watch. My computer says "boofs" is misspelled. I think it's lying to me.

Hey Dane, you ever run the Little Salmon a few hours north of Banks near Riggins, Idaho? During late spring it gets pretty big. If you are on the Payettes in May or June you should totally take an afternoon or day to at least run some of the upper class V shit, if not the nonstop class III and IV downstream of that.

If you're ever by Riggins on the salmon in June during high water and want some 50k+ CFS and run ruby and lake creek if you want some massive water depending on the year recommend putting it in at the spring bar and taking it out at the town launch or old/new Lucile boat ramps

curious if you have paddled the scorch, I think they look similar, but the edges on the Gnarvana look next level, I imagine it give that little bit more control, is that what you think. I want to paddle this boat so bad?

@@danejacksonkayak Thinking about Skookumchuck, I think it would be awesome if Jackson Kayak made a 14-16 foot long boat, something to compete in the same market as the Delphin, Virgo, Stratos, etc., but with Jackson's whitewater cockpit setup and hull engineering for a sea kayak that will not only be playful in ocean surf and tide races, but also capable of decent tracking and speed for paddling distances on open water. Make the front end kinda pointy and name it the Gnarwhal!

So I assume it too is dam release? I'm all about free flowing rivers, but it IS pretty nice to have a world class river and another pretty good one right next door running in Sept. Idaho!

@@TayWhyte Thanks, Tay. I recall running the N Fk in Sept.in the 90's, on Labor Day, I think. Is it the same shut down schedule? I assumed it was irrigation release? Loved that warm water...reduced the fear factor, just a little, lol

@@big1dog23 The North Fork is not on the same schedule as the Deadwood Res up the South Fork . It does continue to run later! Sorry about that confusion. It's still running over respectable 1300 cfs of warm water.

It depends, usually if I’m filming with my drone It will be used for a bigger edit from the trip. Or an edit on here. This time the footage was used for the Gnarvana promo.
