We sit down with the charming Matthew Goode at the Crosby Street Hotel in NYC and talk about his role as Mia Wasikowska's psycho Uncle Charlie in STOKER.
He was the best thing in the original Watchmen movie about 12 years ago. He was amazing. They made him blonde for that role. The movie bombed, and rightly so. After that he only seemed to work in England.
@@susannebeer-eyk7054 Yeah that movie was bad, but he was pretty good in it. I know he's in that show Discovery of Witches, my mom keeps trying to get me to watch it.
@@RockChick63174 "cult classic" yes it is. However, when it came out originally it lost money. Bombed at the box office. I didn't make any money until people discovered it on DVD and a lot of Watchmen fans really liked it. Personally, I thought it stunk. Just my opinion.
@@TimeandMonotony he's stunning in it, although I think in the first season his character is so intense and he's kind of monotone. Its in the second season you REALLY want to watch.
Earlier on (when Stoker was probably in pre-production), I read in Wiki that Matthew Goode would be play the 'enigmatic uncle' in the film. Finally I've seen the film, and boy was he enigmatic alright, Colin Firth wouldnt have had the aura and menace of the character. So glad it was Goode!
He's like so nonchalant and I like this, it does a good pair with his accent I find :P And this white shirt a little bit opened makes him attractive that's huge!
Thumbs up to your comment, but for me the shirt didn't add any more to his already magnetic attractiveness. I think Matthew Goode is SUCH a beautiful man!
Pleased to observe this easy, cosy talk. Felt like I was there in the room. Matthew's expressions are peerless. Like: (what was the most challenging thing?) - Oh. Working with Kidman for Christ sake. So much emotions and fun in one phrase, I am hooked on this guy. And I'm glad you mentioned accents, because Goode's is divine, so smooth and sexy. Cheers.
I know this movie it's little bit old,,2013..but I loved watch this interview..Matthew friendly face, he's very genuine, funny, modest..and the white shirt?..OMG❤️
Love him in Brideshead Revisited.. Good film..yup, he's actually perfect in any role.. with his smirk, puppy eyes & charming smile, he's effortlessly beautiful..
As cute bariviór lushing it's promising alárm (neither was being fud) the kuramstisch. Radical 101 is not a good plan. James Washington was a dratiediching comrades for a calstalt 'when it was fourteen days to go.'
Interesting. I feel as if I had a dream or was lost in thought the other day as to what it'd be like to have a conversation with Matthew Goode. :) Thanks for the upload!
Honestly, so cool to see the reporter hold the camera with a steady shot. Most of the time these interviews are so shaky it gets annoying. So, THANK YOU. The questions ain't half bad either ;o)
I noticed this when going through the TV guide last night. Don't know how I missed it before. Yes, I imagine Freddie will age much like Matthew. Both so talented too.
Collin firth would have been a horrible choice for this. Charlie and India being closer in age and Charlie being super attractive made the chemistry with them not super disgusting lol. I like Colin Firth but I don’t think they could have pulled it off.
FYI, the British brought tea to India to help bring down the price China, which is where tea is really from, down. They actually took over India because the climate was good for growing tea. Rotten reason for invading a country if you ask me.
Right? He's a fine actor but he caters to an older audience looks-wise, it really wouldn't have worked. Especially because the main character was in high school and Colin is in his 50s?
Yeah, if I imagine Colin Firth in that role it would have been.. weird (and I really like him, but still). With Matthew as Uncle Charlie there's so much more dimension, because he's that monster, but also... slightly boyish and charming and handsome. I love my very conflicted attraction to that character lol.
I think the ending actually makes more sense because her love for Uncle Charlie can never surpass her love to her dad. So although it is painful, she still needs to revenge, and it is absolutely not about saving her mom since she didn't even look at her after making the shot. This kind of twisted love is what make the stoker family fascinated.
