I really appreciate you making this video. I found this jacket last yr and fell in love with it online, but couldn't find enough reviews to give me the confidence to pull the trigger. I opted for a cheaper competitor(FL) and was very unhappy with my choice. I have a long torso and struggle to find jackets that are long enough. Pretty sure I'm going with the Cirque this year.
I owned and sold this jacket……I really liked it except for one thing. The neck opening was very narrow. If I was wearing a tee underneath I could zip it up but with any layers with collars or hoods it was a no-go. As an outer layer piece I don’t know why it was designed that way.
It's been a great jacket this winter. I've worn it a ton. I'm super impressed with it. Nope, I never considered the lite. If I'm wearing a puffy, it's because I'm cold. I want the warmest option available. You can always vent a warm jacket. You can never make a lite jacket warmer.
I get a first responder discount from SG, so it's a lot more than a $30 difference. Plus, I've never been a big fan of the fit of Kifaru. There stuff always fits baggy
I’m surprised they say it’s an active insulation piece. Arc’teryx and Patagonia make pretty breathable pieces with 40-80 g/m. This is 133 g/m PrimaLoft Gold (not their active version). Would you say this could be used for static use just above freezing?
I agree, and I don't really get the point of an active insulation piece. I think it's just a way for them to differentiate it from their down line. It is a very warm jacket, but giving it a temperature rating is too tough. What else are you wearing, for how long, ect.... too many variables to put a specific number on it.
