I do not admit that was the only reason i checked these out. I found out they were supporting black stone cherry in december, so i did a "google" on them, listened, loved, then found out about the darkness link. I will admit to loving the darkness, but these are much better!!!! They ruled when they supported Black Stone Cherry by the way!!! Keep rock n f**kin rollin guys!
Clearly better than The Darkness. Seen them live a few times and they appear to be enjoying it more than they did the first time round. Great British rock ! :-)
i put this song on my mobile so i could listen to it at college and i think i listened to it about 5-10 times! lmao (thats just today) i cant wait to see these guys live!
Went and saw 'em saturday. Caught the bassists pick.. hell yeah. Really good band. Got an awesome picture of the singer leaning over the stage right into my camera...
richie is a brilliant frontman.. Fuckin mad voice which sounds just as good live, which is rare with vocalists. but he'll never replace justin.. but stone gods are still mad as
Wow Richies voice is great! A real rock voice. It's great to see them playing again. Though for me it doesn't have the same magic as the Darkness had. Still this is great! And good luck to them!
yeah but without dan hawkins in Hot Leg, they dont have the Dakrness-esque sound, it seems lacking in something.... i guess im so used to having them together that i miss the unique signature sounds that the brothers make.... but still gud stuff!!!

@shep79 Well old Justin just said there is no chance of a Darkness reunion and took all the stuff he worked on with his brother and is using on Hot Leg
people dont understand that "this new guy" was the bassest for the darkness after the bassest left then when justin left to go to rehab he did not take his place they are a new band now there not the darkness and they have a diffrent bassest as he is now playing guitar
@cinatit48 The Hawkins brothers are working on new material and if they like it then they'll reform The Darkness with Hot Leg and Stone Gods still being bands.
can't say "better" than The Darkness, but i will say better than i expected. i like the sound but think its a different band now. same as Velvet Revolver was different than stp and Audioslave was different than both soundgarden and rage. it's awesome they will be adding some great music to my collection
When I heard rumor that the Darkness was getting back together I was psyched. When I heard it wasn't Justin and they had changed names, I was still pretty psyched. I would normally have liked this a lot if only DUDE COULD SING. But he can't. :-( It's not even the style they have veered towards, because I like this style.
hot leg are a sub-standard darkness though. Granted Stone Gods are different, but in general i think theyre better than hot leg. Best thing for Darkness-esque stuff is the Darkness really :P
Im not saying they are of the same calibre right now, but im saying they are the same genre and they arent bad - like pigeonfeatures was saying. Not to mention theyve been around about... a 0.6 of the time AC/DC have?
Justin who? :P No seriously, I love Justin, brilliant guitarist and front man, but these too are great! Old style rock, reminds me of DIO, Sabbath ... etc. Me like.
Even though it's almost the same lineup they're still in a different genre than the darkness. Just compare Audoslave the Rage Against the machine, same lineup can sound really different.
@shep79 Hot Leg is good not as good as Stone Gods and DEFINATLY as good as The Darkness. He really is the pnly one stopping a reunion. I hope they come back oh so much
