I don't know what I need I'm scared of life, I'm scared of what it means to me This broken home is just not what it used to be Too fast to slow me down Too loud to drown me out I doubt I'll ever get this ghost to what I was Because I've seen the grand design, hold on I hope you talk about the future when I'm gone But if I'm wrong I know the reason why I, I can't feel anything I can't feel anything that's under my control I, I won't do anything I won't do anything that's out of my control I can see myself Extended past the limits of my cry for help I don't believe I've ever come this way before So why do I know my way? What do I have to say and do To drain that look of shame away from you? I knew we'd never find our peace, hold on I hope you celebrate the best before I'm gone But if I'm wrong I'll know that it was me I, I can't feel anything I can't feel anything that's under my control I, I won't do anything I won't do anything that's out of my, out of my control I don't know what you need I'm scared of love, I'm scared of what it means to me This empty house is burning down around me So cold I don't know why So much for holding out I hope I suffocate before I let you choke On words you know I'd never say, oh no, don't go I want you to destroy me one more time So when I die I know you really loved me I, I can't feel anything I can't feel anything that's under my control I, I won't do anything I won't do anything that's out of my, out of my control Out of my control, yeah
d3adeyes that exactly what i think buddy, i listen to the entire record and i just impresed by the amazing and badass music diverse in there, is just a masterpiece, for me, the most versatil stone sour in their history, i fucking love it, corey put so much emotion and abbility to his interpretation, thats another gem of this record
d3adeyes I know exactly what you mean dude! It gets you thinking that one song will be similar to the last but then there is something that just comes out of nowhere! Are you a long time SS fan? What do you think of their new guitarist I think he did pretty well! Plus we're always going to have the old material of Stone Sour :)
been a long time fan and I think Rand is good but you can tell when he is trying to sound like Jim Root and it just isn't as fluid. When he is playing his way it is good.
Yeah man, I think its one of those things where people get too caught up trying to play in someone else style and it shows through. The best thing to do is to be your own style and go from there! Still a cracking tune though!
You guys are bang on, I was amazed with how many directions the album took. I'm really enjoying this album but I do miss Jim. The new guy does have a lot of potential though
Awesome, as always. Corey is such an amazing artist, his song have soul. The whole song is pure awesomness, and the guitar solos are just perfect IMO :)
lambknot I do agree corey sounds better but this album just falls flat for me. it sounds like everything id expect from any other band on the radio its quite disappointing. I think it has to do with a certain absence
The "quit smoking - improve voice" clichet is usually applied to classical or pop artists who are trying to get rid of the scratchy sound in their voice. Alternative rock acts and such (where we can include Stone Sour) have different standards for a "good voice" and, ironically, a scratchy voice is considered sexy and powerful.
Ain't it funny how it happens lmfao no shit Sherlock. How about that sugar you're consuming?? What about those injections, vaccinations, you are getting?? How about those happy pills?? How about you look that shit up you little punk ass
corey taylor god bless you and your soul your voice is unbelievable keep giving us the power off slipknot voice your Portuguese fan Say hello Corey taylor for us your fans in Portugal keep good God Bless you Stone Sour
Its one of the best I reckon, though every song has its own merit! Thats what I love about the album, have you heard the records before or is this your first Stone Sour experience?
Easily their best since Audio Secrecy. Might even take its place as my favorite Stone Sour album after a few more listens. Also, this new guitarist is amazing. I felt that was one thing SS was always missing, driving notable guitars. This guy has a little more Flash and flare and the music seems to be much more up front.
Just listened to it for the first time.... wish it had lyrics so i could screen shot em since I'm having to quickly run thru these new ones i havent had the oppurtunity to take in yet.... I'm super stoked to finally get to hear them... all i can say is damn... powerful, hard hitting lyrics i can def relate to the situation.... love & loss hurts more greatly then anything ive ever endured & I've been thru stuff that hell its self is to scared to sleep with its light off. . So to whonever wrote this song if it wasnt you & the band members, keep your heads up even when you feel as tho the sky itself is waging a war against you.... We all love yall, yall are as a group something so amazing & one of a kind that i cant find the correct words.... thank you so very very much & i hope i get to see yall play one day.... ps. the dallas Slipknot show last year was my first & ive been waiting since i was almost 19 to see yall... yall saved my life with that album... ❤❤❤🤘
I called it, how to top a double concept album, hmm a cover record, boom. burbank. ok now what a firey record. boom again. fuck I'm good. thank you stone sour you do not disappoint
Every album has their relevancy, with the self-titled and "Come What(ever) May" being their most important, but in terms of song writing, creativity, and vocals especially, "House of Gold & Bones" wins the prize. Corey has never felt more comfortable with his voice as he did on those two albums. So versatile and powerful!
Was just going to say HoGB is the best. Never heard album sound like a comic book miniseries. Then self titled. Audio Secrecy. Come Whatever. I'm still getting used to Hydrograd, so I don't have a place...which is why i'm here. Thanks Pandora!
