Yeah he is. He gets a lot of shit. But I think he gets the band, he gets what Weiland brought. He keeps all that in mind and does what he does. Second front men rarely ever please the fan base. People hate change and can't handle it.

I feel the same way that you do. Weiland's lyrics I Believe are slightly better. His lyrical lines differ from song the song Just lyrical lines are very similar with each song they're not as varied as Scots were that's just my opinion I believe fare-thee-well is an amazing song it's a very beautiful touching song it really really is up there with some of the best music that's been written by any of the great major bands. The three core members Eric Robert and Dean are just so cohesive and know exactly what each other want. They really do complete each other musically their chemistry is definitely God given. They are compared to Led Zeppelin and the Beatles of the 90s I believe they are The Beatles of the 90s for sure every song it's different every song is great this album is starting to grow on me and I'm becoming very fond of it. I'm still adjusting to Jeff Gutt though. Scott's life in my life have so many parallels. The night he died I was devastated every time I hear certain songs I get very emotional and it really bothers me that he was so selfish and this disease just ate them alive literally. Dean put it in a nutshell they were talking about how Scott was running around with a new crew as n a friends. from the way Dean was talkin they were all using and all they wanted was money from Scott. what moved me the most was Dean stating that they didn't care about Scott's Health that was most important. The wild about they didn't seem to care about Scott's health either. Obviously Scott didn't care about his own health. watching live performances and being at many of their concerts Dean and Scott definitely had a special relationship with each other. I miss Scott

Dean DeLeo was/is the soul of STP. Listen to early STP and then Velvet Revolver. What was missing? Dean DeLeo and his amazing 90s grunge guitar sound. That's what made STP sound so original during the 90s grunge era

What's funny is he was in Dry Cell back in the 90's. They had a minor hit with "Body Crumbles" on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack and once did a great cover of "Heaven & Hot Rods" for NASCAR and the Crank It Up soundtrack.

to me this new lead singer sounds NOTHING like Scott Weiland at all! the rest of the band has the same similar sound though.

Why? The DeLeos had the band going before Weiland was ever hired on as a singer.. it's technically their band, even if Scott is also iconic, and is what everybody remembers. This still sounds like STP to me.
