Am I the only one who started sobbing when the final painting/Noni's dates came up? Just me? Okay. 😂😭😭😭😭 Beautiful tribute to a beautiful cat. Thank you for sharing this (and as a former vet hospital employee...100% agree about animals in captivity and humans' capacity for caring for them vs. our tendency to exploit them).
Thank you for speaking to the fact that sanctuary and rescue don’t always mean good. Quality of the animal’s life needs to be paramount, and it doesn’t matter if a shelter is “no kill” if the way they do that is to crate large dogs 23 hours a day. It hurts my heart. This is beautiful.
Beautiful piece! You might be getting close to convincing me to try opaque watercolor paints if you keep this up! I also loved learning about Noni and the important work the sanctuary provides ❤❤
Haha, thanks Noelle! I'm glad you enjoyed it. No need to force yourself into something you're not interested in, but they'll be waiting for you if you ever change your mind!
Hullo Denise, I am still in awe of your beautiful work! I was reminded of the jaguar painting you did for donation that I was able to purchase from you and how generous you are with your time and talents! Yep I am a believer in talent. I don’t believe talent is a requirement to creating art but it sure gets you through the lean times when just eye hand co-ordination does not! Thank you for sharing your lovely friend with us and your continued dedication to the education of your viewers and others who might have just happened bye one of your videos! Please take care and keep creating Art ! You are truly inspirational and very talented. Thank you.
I live near one of the largest birds of prey rescues in the world and from what I remember they took very care of their animals too. Either way, birds of prey are one of my favorite types of animals but I love all animals so it makes me happy to hear about other places I can support.
Beautiful painting! I am such a fan of Stoneground paints, so happy to see a few channels talk about them recently 😊. I think they are on the same level as my A Gallo handmade paints (and, personally, much easier for me to purchase locally).
Always love watching you work. While my school schedule doesn’t allow time to sit down for more than a sketchbook piece here and there, the inspiration I gain from these videos carries on!
Im super pumped about this video. But if we’re going to be honest Florentine green and raw sienna warm shade were my babies first and I will stand by that.
gorgeous finished portrait of Noni🥰 Im glad there are sanctuaries like this out there, but wish they didnt have to exists in the first place. but since humans will continue to do stupid things with wild animals there needs to be more places that care for these animals like this
Your love & respect for animals is apparent in every brush stroke. I will be sending the rescue some items from their Amazon list. I visited your etsy page. Any chance you will make stickers of opossum? I'm in love.
Thank you so much, Beth! I know they'll appreciate it! Are you interested in the close up painting I have of Lindsay, or are you inquiring about a new design?
@@InLiquidColor I am totally blown away by your beautiful artwork. I swear it is so realistic I felt like I could reach and pet him/her. It is a gift for a very dear friend who lost her pet possum of many years last fall. Believe me you & your art are a true blessing to this world.
I have some SG paints in my palette, mostly because I wanted to support fellow canadians! But I seem to go through them too fast for how much they cost 😓 I've been buying Roman Szmal and Daniel Smith for refills on the colours I go through too quickly. I hope they start releasing full pans or tubes soon. I'm also keeping a close eye on Beam for their commitment to reducing packaging waste.
That is a fair point! Handmade colors are always going to be more expensive than their commercial counterparts, but I use all three brands happily in my own studio :)
@@InLiquidColor I was 8 years old, it was the 70's and we had recently moved to Central CA. My Aunt and Uncle had us down to their place for Christmas and they took us to the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. They had memberships at both places. I had never been to a zoo before and was forever spoiled. The spacious enclosures, highly educational nature and amazing animal husbandry practices were second to none at that time! I got to be up close and personal with a galapagos tortise and fell in love! And the Wild Animal Park forever impressed upon me that idea that I share the planet with nature, not the other way around. It is incredibly hard for me to go to zoos that are any less generous to the creatures they care for.
@@kristiw.1823 This is absolutely the experience I always hoped to achieve during my time as an educator. It's so, so important to make those connections and inspire love, compassion, and stewardship!
