Man, she’s perfect. This brings back great memories when only real bikers road Harley’s. Before the yuppie’s started buying Harley’s just to be cool. Back when you had to know how to work on your bike when you took to the highway. You did an amazing job on bringing her back to life. Ride Safe.
I have an 81 flh electra glide heritage same wheels you have lowered, hydra glide front end it was a peas and carrots buy back model only 784 made in 81. It looks alot like yours only satin black both are beauties yours is just right mines close even have the same seat ! Thanks for the video my frame engine and trans are numbers matching but the orange and green paint as well as the big seat and bags all gone Thanks again
Nice shovel, it looks and sounds great. It was actually nice to see a video done on some of the roads I ride all the time. There are a whole lotta bumps on that section of the Sprain from 287 up to Hawthorne but its a good ride in spite of them. Thanks for the show and tell !
Now that is sweet👍S&S make superior repro parts, carbs and whole engines. If I was doing a rebuild I’d use their Pan in a second. I think they do a knuck as well. Ahh that sound and no kick( I’m old and can’t kick like I used to). From what I hear runs nice and smooth as well👍
Just saw this video. I have a very stock 1979 80cu sitting in my living room on Medford L.I. Make me a offer. Clean title. Plus those hard to find mag wheels.
Ol shovel purrs like a kitten, glad you did a video that shows that bike doing what it was built to do which is go down the rode ,I just purchased a 77 electraglide 100 percent original and bone stock ,I like riding it way better than my fat boy, also I absolutely agree that is the best looking front-end on any bike .sir great video but I must ask if you can send me some info on the engine builder.thanks from western NC
These are definitely one of the best looking bikes ever made only thing i don't like is being well over 6ft tall myself they seem to be made for guys under 6ft.
Hey man beautiful bike. I also have a 79. Would love to put the same forward control and floorboards on it do you have any information about them? Or where I could pick them up? Appreciate your time thanks
Ian. That black Trident is on Craigs List right now. Have a look at it and reach out to TR. He’s more than happy to talk to you. Search Triumph Trident New York.
How do you like the b grind ? Got one in my stock 74. Not much difference from the stock cam ...?.was told it'd be an upgrade..shit I don't know Oh yeah., fkn cool machine btw She's a beauty
Thank you. the seat is a little harsh but I think the video made it look worse than it is because of the quality of the roads. I changed the bike around a bit and put on a pogo seat. Check out there second video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vVW6SdGG5Jc.html
Hey Blaine. TR and I just mess about with old bikes to amuse ourselves and he is a great mechanic who knows a lot about older bikes but there's no professional shop.
Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful bike but what part of the motorcycle is still Harley? With all the mods it sounds like it's an S&S instead of a Harley-Davidson. Keep'em stock! Especially vintage beauties like this one.
It's a beautiful machine and appears to be a top quality restoration, but that seems like alot of money to sink into a bike from that era to resell. Also, the five speed tranny will, in the long run, devalue the bike as a collectable. Still in all, you do some exceptionally nice work.
It's obviously not a restoration. We said we're the Buy High Sell Low Club. We build these old bikes for fun and to ride. It''s not realistic for anybody to expect to get their money back. We just repainted it and made a few cosmetic changes, looks even better now. I'll post a new video soon.
