I used a gas mask and didn’t have a spoon, I just scooped it in the vial. I felt like a scientist 👨🔬 wish I saw this video sooner. 10/10 would recommend a spoon and this video.
What if I have both pebble and normal type stools in my poo hat ? Which should I put in the sample ? Both ? They call em a hat ( the collection bowl you shows ) at my doc office. Thank you 😊
Thank you so much for making this video. You're so brave! LOL I have a question regarding transporting one's specimen. The technician said that my sample has to be frozen. My wife and I are not cool with putting the sample in our fridge or freezer. Do you think it'd be ok to turn in my sample at room temp or even with an ice pack instead of frozen if I drop it off 2-3 hours after doing #2? Or when they say frozen, they mean frozen? I usually poop around 10AM and I literally live down the street from Quest Diagnostics, but my appointment to drop off isn't til 110PM. Hope to hear from u soon!
Hi there! I would follow directions as best you can, if you’re able to drop the sample off immediately after collection it would be fine but if it will be a few hours fridge/freezer is what you should do. I would double bag it if you’re uncomfy of that!
As is so often the case, problems can be solved by throwing money at them. (1) Your lab should provide biohazard bags for your specimen tube(s). (2) I understand not wanting a bare specimen bag sitting in the refrigerator or freezer. (In fact, in research labs and medical testing labs, ) For your paper bags containing specimens that you have to store in the household food storage units, you could put a biohazard label sticker on the bag. Mr. Bezos sells them in various designs (circles, squares, red or orange, etc.) at about $10 for a roll of 250 (about $0.04 for a near lifetime supply). That would actually have been a good idea in my childhood family’s refrigerator: Mom made lunch for 3 kids and Dad, and when someone took the WRONG LUNCH the malefactor heard all about it. I can’t imagine what would have transpired if someone had grabbed a stool specimen sack by mistake.
Hi there! I have never done a FIT stool test before, just calprotectin and other parasite type tests, so I can't speak on this. I would definitely ask your doctor if it's possible to get a positive FIT result with IBD.
You should just be able to place the container on the toilet seat and then sit on top of it. The curved part of the counter should face towards the front of the toilet. Hope that helps!
@@ChronicallyMusicalthe reason i watched your video because i have four stool samples containers Quest Laboratories told me that two goes to the freezer I can't remember if it is the two clear tube with the red top or one with a orange top with red liquid & one with a black top with clear liquid they're closed today can you help me please.?
No lie your video really helped me but what I had to do was dehumanizing and just wrong 😂 I had to chop the poop up to fit into that clear container it was so nasty and stinking 💀
