I never get FOMO man! I just do not understand why people feel the urge to bite into every hype! Pick and choose people, it's okay to not have everything! Also Sweta you rock as always!
It’s called keeping up with the joneses we feel something lacking if we don’t give into the pressure to buy unnecessary products pushed by influencers. They get the stuff free whilst we use our coins.
OMG!!! Somebody said exactly what I felt!! I especially asked my hubby to get the shade from Thailand when it was not even available here and was so so so disappointed!!! Love love and lots of love for sharing this and putting an end to an insane craze, I just wish you had done this earlier though. ❤❤❤
Soooooo true and glad someone finally said ittttt ❤ I learnt the hard way bought pillow talk 1 and 2 and they both don’t show up at all and do nothing for me excepting washing me out
I will never regret buying anything from Charlotte Tillberry. I love everything, that I’ve purchased from the brand. The quality is completely different from drugstore there is no comparison!
She is saying this shade is not suitable for Indian skin tone. But many bought them because on commercial or white girl pillow talk shade looks stunning. But this shade doesn't go with Indian skin colour.
Pillow talk is great for us brown girls. It’s up to you which shade you pick. They have options under pillow talk. I use shade 2 medium but there are others.
@@lakshmim9696 i dont know because it looks exactly like mine so i cant really tell honestly.. but yeah I guess people are saying before the one I have came out they first just did a generic pillow talk which was the lighest one??
Finally I found someone who presented the truth to us.. I really wanted to buy the iconic shade CT pillow talk but after watching your video I have changed my mind..and I am really glad to see how u admired and promoted our Indian brands ❤
That pillow talk color is also leaning blue toned. People of fair complexion must also have a blue undertone for this color to suit. Otherwise, fair neutral with any yellow would be washed out by this color.
The shade of pillow talk definitely isn’t flattering for everyone, but for me personally it’s been the only nude lipstick that looks good on my skin tone which is very pale. Not a bad product, but shade being complimenting to your skin makes a difference.
Being FOMO and buying trends and hype products 99% of the time had wasted me money and i had to give these products away! that moment i realised that i will make my own decisions on what suits me as with makeup it is not catered to all skin complexions!
Completely agree on the pillow talk lipstick being too pale for Indian skin tones. I remember it being all over social media and everyone calling it “flattering for all skin tones”. And I was so disappointed when I received it. It washed me out. Wasn’t even that pigmented. However, some other Charlotte tilbury lipsticks in general are quite unique, pigementef and and comfortable to wear. Some shades that suit Indian skin tones : Walk of No Shame ( a stunning muted red / brown) and Mrs Kissses ( a peachy orange which is great for every day wear) 😊
@@ShwetaVijay please do the dupes and I am sticking to CT lipsticks now for its quality and dry lips friendly. Didn’t like Dior, MAC, Lakme, L’Oreal and Maybelline. Thanks
I can’t lie!!! I actually like the shade!!! I’m black and it works out great for me I’m caramel skin tone wise and I use the pillow talk intense and medium both are very pretty on me I’ve I guess the other two types of pillow talk look best 😂
It’s important to buy shades for your skin tone. Not every shade is made for every skin tone. When you follow a hype, watch what influencers are promoting it and what their skin tone range is. Follow the hype of influencers with skin tone ranges similar to yours. Or take the hype for the formulas and not the shades if you don’t look like the people promoting it. Pillow talk is a gorgeous shade and can be manipulated to work in medium skin with a deeper lip liner. Pillow talk medium and deep are also beautiful alternatives for our complexions.
You said exactly what I was thinking. You should know the colour before buying it and then not complain. I wouldn't buy something that I know is not the colour for my skin. That is not fault of the brand. I don't agree with this video.
I don’t care if you don’t agree. I had to give my point of view. I spoke about pillow talk original not 1/2... this is a bestseller here in India. And most hyped... please read the comments of how many bought it thinking it was going to suit them and it didn’t. I’m glad it suited the both of you but there’s also 100 more that it didn’t. And it’s not a shade for most brown skin girls. I bought it just to make this video to show how it looks on a medium skintone . And it looks awful!
@@ShwetaVijay it’s fine. I also don’t care of what you think. The way you put this video it looks like CT sold you something mistakenly. If you bought the wrong colour on purpose to show that is not the colour for deeper tones is ok, but don’t complain about the brand. I can’t be it more clear if tou don’t understand. False allegations is what your doing about the lipstick.
@@anad05 where did I complain about the brand? I’m on the pr list you know.. so why would I ? But every brand has good and bad and one needs to state the facts out here. This is a lipstick shade we are talking about not the whole brand .. no murder took place here
@@anad05 it’s funny you’re being hurt about a lipstick . She didn’t say anything about the brand. She’s right it is a horrible colour and fair skin toned. It washed me out and I wish I saw this before listening to diet Sabya I rather buy a Milani for half price and dupes.
I agree. Idk why everyone has to go out buying Charlotte tillbury pillow talk when it's horrible on darker skin😖. It's only for very fair skin. Get colors that go with your skin tone, deeper or brighter ones, not muted, neutral colors.
True …CT lipsticks are nothing unique and there are cheaper and better alternatives out there. However if you want to own a CT, Walk of no shame is a more flattering colour for Indian skin tones 😊
Just being honest ,The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick shade looked much Better on you then the bright Red Lipstick your were wearing! Just my opinion.❤
Try SoulTree's Nude Pink 500- It is much better and prettier than an overhyped Charlotte Tilburry pillowtalk. Also it comes at a much reasonable price.
More than pillow talk og, pillow talk medium would suit Indian skin tones and Walk of no shame looks great too! Also, i think High tea from Praush beauty might be a dupe of Pillow talk medium 🤭🤫
I've NEVER understood the hype for this lipstick. It's a horrible shade for all skin tones in my opinion. I can't wear it even with my fairish skin. It's just an impossible color and people clearly buy it because Charlotte Tilbury said it's their most popular.
I’m fair complected and that color still does nothing. Plus, those lipsticks evaporate off my lips and leave a thin uncomfortable dry film. No other lipstick does that to me. They are so not worth the price to me.
wait, CT PT's just a pinky nude? lol! I guess I had imagined something incredible. the funny thing is that love of luxury makeup is actually quite niche, but if you are buying for the name, who's even going to notice? It's not like wearing a really well known fashion brand, so few people would even recognize the packaging or branding, it's a status-oriented purchase that does not deliver status. I can count the number of times anyone has ever been impressed by what i am wearing/using in the public bathroom: 5. and I m 50+ lol!
It's been years I never bought stuff that trend. Makeup already takes time to get over and expire, I use what I have and after several reviews I get something that is worth it. Was never a brand go crazy girl, thank God! But love Rare beauty blush and Fenty pro filter because those two are the absolute best!
Celebrity makeup breakdown is always the start of the product promotion (in this case-Alia Bhatt wedding lip look which dint even have just 1 shade as this shade won't even suit her without layering), half the beauty influencers get those and show how trendy & monetary resourceful they are by purchasing the same as celeb range. They then heavily promote it after falling for FOMO.
i have... with brown, red and burgundy. Im not denying it being pretty...its not universally flattering like it claims to be and hyped. I prefer pillow talk 2❤❤
That’s so true pillow talk is so overrated lipstick which I don’t found appealing at all. Tried (coz of the hype) at nykaa luxe store and frankly I am fair complexion woman and it wasn’t looking good on me too. Definitely not for Indian skin tone. I always wonder why these beauty influencers are obsessed with this lipstick.
I actually do like pillow talk I have gone through two of them I think it looks great with a good lipliner but I honestly love the formula of charlotte tilbury lipsticks and they do have a other colours
I have to also wear it with a lipliner and a brown lipstick so it looks even kind of okay (kind of like an ombre). I do like it but I’ll never buy it. Mine was a gift so I have no reason to not use it
Pillow talk as a colour may not be suitable but the Charlotte tilbury formula is amazing. You don’t get that from cheaper brands. So far I never came across any Indian brand which offers such light and airy formulas and wear off nicely and evenly. I love Gurlain the most in category of lipstick
i personally charlotte tilbury lipstick i have finished most too. i like there shade, how should i define it they shade give soft, elegant look. not in the face look. i think there red give very soft vibe i did not get the same effect in others brand. believe me i tried many even korean. that why i have all its collection. i like its matte revolution more as it has hydration not too matte as we have dry as hell lipstick. some of my fave shades are supermodel, pt medium, wedding belle, mrs kiss, mi kiss secret salma. i tried rare beauty , pat mcgrath, too faced, kay beauty, milani, flower, sugar etc. i think after charlotte tilbury the huda beauty has unique and different effect shades.
I'm fair light complexion olive I had to put on garbage almost every product I buyed from CT because it doesn't show on my skin or are flattering: pinkgasm liquid blush, pillow talk liquid highlighter, beautifying palette, exagger eyes quad, eyes to mesmerize rose gold and I might have more....this brand only sells because of bad influencers
I was waiting for someone to said this. The moment I swatched it in store i thought what is this so overhyped? Its nothing great especially on brown skintone.
It literally looks like every basic $5 generic nude shade. But somehow even less pigmented. I swear I’ve had that exact same shade in my FAO Schwarz makeup vanity.
Agreed, I have tried the lipstick samples in Charlotte Tilbury store and pillow talk range colors dont suit me...the formula I heard is pretty good as CT makes skin friendly products. Unfortunately, the colors aren't so great.
As a lover of CT lipsticks other shades great for brown skin are : Wedding Bells ( slighting deeper shade of pillow talk great for Mac nc40/nc42 skin tones) Pillow talk medium ( even deeper shade of pillow talk) MI Kiss ( berry shade - my personal favourite) Walk of no shame ( muted red) Super Fabulous ( brown- can be used as a nude for deep skin tones)
@@leen1q84 I think they are very similar which is why I only bought MI kiss and skipped pillow talk medium. If I remember correctly when I swatched in store I think pillow talk medium was more brown toned whilst MI kiss had more berry/reddish. But can't remember exactly
My thoughts exactly!!! I did the same with huda some years ago when they had not even launched in India.. I ordered online and the shade I received was not at all flattering... Even on Indian fair skin which I have... Some shades are just meant for caucasians
The truth about make up shades.. there is a color grouping for each persons skin tone. I’m blonde and olive in color they said. I get pale but get a bit darker than you in the sun. I am a spring and some summer colors as well as autumn. Winter and autumn colors are what typically look the most flattering but once you change hair colors.. say you highlight it and add a bit more orange color with the blonde.. and then the lighter hair makes the lighter colors more flattering. People look online for wigs and I always suggest if you think neon green hair is gonna look good on your head, go to a hair store and check on a wig before you do your whole head.
For someone, like myself, who doesn’t really know much about make-up and has a friend’s wedding coming up, it is nice to know what works for everyone. It genuinely feels like a gift from God! Of course for my skin color medium works better (which I also got!) and that’s why you should always test things out first!
its a bland shade. exactly its meant for white skin. I tried MI kiss. it feels great on the lips but its also the lipstick that ran out in 3 months since you need to reapply to keep the pigment on your lips
You're just so damn right. There are so many hyped up products out that just don't work with my skin (dry, mature, very pale), facial features and so on. It is better to consider this and make up your own mind than to follow blindly certain trends. Thanks for reminding. I freaking love de-influencing!
