I’ve never used shumis protectors, but I’m very fond of chalice collectibles protectors, they’re .5 mm and reenforced corners as well

In Australia theres a company called pop guardian that have a similar type of protector without the locking tab that comes in 0.6mm thickness and now has new ones 0.8mm thick

to be fair, I sometimes receive those garbage protectors when I buy pops from mercari/ebay etc. lol

The barcode on the cheap one is actually scannable. The line in the plastic doesn’t completely block off the barcode. The lower half is scannable. Still crappy soft protector tho lol.

I looooove Shumi pop protectors! You mentioned them in the first video I watched of yours and have been using them ever since!

I'm using a shitty pop protector with the line that go over the barcode and I tried the camera scan barcode using the funko app and it was scannable in less than 1 second.

Early protectors, .35 and thinner are definitely total crap. After that, standard .45 or .5 mm are pretty much the same. There are several brands now having .5mm with reenforced corners, that is now an good improvement. But the Shumi bottom allowing to scan better is not a good selling point because I have a ton of boxes having the barcode in the middle of the bottom so I think the problem would remain the same.

Wow USA is behind a little , here in Australia We have pop guardian protectors , which are 0.6 and 0.8mm without the locking tab, for a while now . Those ones look just as good !

Poor pops! I am a new collector. I have around 50 to 55 pops so far and I have been thinking on getting Pops protector. My funko pops might not have a high value, but for me the do. So I have to protect them. Thanks for this video.

First - I really enjoy the diversity and content of your vlogs (while keeping them all in the realm of Funko & collectibles). I just wanted to "put my two cents in" and say that, while I appreciate your recommendations for a specific brand (which has total merit, based upon your needs and collection), there are probably a lot of collectors (many very, very young) who may not be able to afford the same quality Pop protectors. I guess I'm just trying to ask you to mix in "but whatever you do, short term, to protect your Pops, is a good move" versus "everything else is crap." I think if you are looking to have some form of protection at all (for Pops) the cheaper protectors are fine - they stop dust and provide a measure of protection when being shipped. I guess I'm just trying to say that we all have a passion for Pop collecting, it's good to just say, "I think these are the BEST but whatever you can do, for NOW is great, too." Thanks - not trying to "hate" (as i know people like to bully from behind a keyboard) - just trying to say I love your channel but to keep everyone in mind. Thanks again.

Chalice .70 are way better. But I'm sure you get a cut from shumi for pushing his stuff. So can't hate make your $$. I did this video over a year ago.

Never understood why people put their most expensive pops in super fragile plastic. I bought a stack once, took out the cardboard and the stack slipped out of my hand. Reflexs took over and i grabbed it quick, and the stack shattered in my hand. Absolute junk and more fragile than glass. Ill definatly be on the hunt for some of these protectors

Thanks for all the info on this. Luckily none of my pops have been damaged but I had my Target Glow Chase Twinkie Kid shipped in a stack and, when I went to take it out it scratched the edges of the box. Super pissed. So thanks for the upload; appreciate it! (Also, I'm not very active on my FB, so would I still be eligible to sign up for the giveaway? ALSO.. two pack protectors would be great to have! Unless they already exist.)

Hey guys quick question. My collection is very small (like around 40 pops currently) and I ordered 10 of these protectors to try them out. Will most likely order more if I like them when I get paid again in a few weeks anyway. I have a fireplace shelf (the fireplace was professionally closed off years ago, it is just used now for decoration because it is an old house) that I am currently displaying my pops on as well as a small bookshelf I purchased. I grow my collection very slowly and purchase most in the box. I was wondering how many pops one could safely stack with these things without box damage. I tried the pop stacks and they are honestly overpriced garbage for the money they charge for them. (Thankfully I only bought one to try out.) So I was wondering how many can be safely stacked in these new shumi protectors?

You know you could still scan on the old one if you put the pop back to front :/

oh shit... was not expecting the crushing of the box in the first few minutes... i just HAD to watch to the end. even though it didnt help me. 10 mins into a 12 min video and I learnt nothing.

Oh No, Not Starfire! Lol I can’t show my daughter, Santa, this video because she’d freak about Starfire being thrown and the Theodore pop as well. 😂 Teen Titans and FNAF are two of her favorite things. Anyways, those protectors looks really nice, my biggest worry is always the bulge. So glad to see that those are super flat and stackable. I may sound super dumb here but I’d love for once if someone would show how to open the tabbed pop protectors. It’s takes all three of us trying before we ever figure one out. We just always say once it goes in it’s not coming out. Everyone shows how to set a protector up and put one in but never how to then open them back up. In this video you did open the non tabbed one tho. And, while I’m on the subject of teaching, if you haven’t filmed the FigPin video yet, can you show how to open those too? I promise I’m not an idiot, I just apparently have opening issues 😬. I have never been able to open any of my figpins to actually use them. I have one that came broken unfortunately so that one has the issue of not being able to shut. But, I’d really love to see you open one in your video as if to use it. It would be very helpful. Thanks!!
