Your videos are about more than just a golf swing. You are well spoken and get your thoughts out clear and easy to understand for the viewer. Your skills speaking and teaching keep me coming back. Amazing video and thanks for your hard work!
Thanks mate, no I haven't been on any tours yet but I did enter the Frank Boswell Trophy last year where I took it out 5 and 4. My marker had to give me 18 shots though.
Once again positions that have been suggested before by other coaches but this time clearly demonstrated and with useful drills provided Again a very good video
Recently viewed several of your videos including the 4 part driver series. You are an excellent coach and teacher. Thank you for your passion and desire to help other golfers to improve. You are awesome.
The second tip accurately described the biggest problem of my swing right now! I never understood what went wrong until I watched this video. Thank you so much JKM you're the GOAT. Keep up the good work!
So, I have only played for the last 4 years, I started a little late, I’m 80 and really enjoying the game. needless to say I have been hitting the ball all over the place. I’ve watched and tried to find some simple approach to just hit the ball correctly and in the right direction. I found you on the internet mixed in with all the other golf advisers about 2 weeks ago. Yesterday I played the best round ever, finally broke 90, shot a 87 and had so many great shots ( for me ) I was just so happy and thankful that I found you. Your approach and demeanor is spot on. Thanks for the tips. Charlie
That's amazing mate, and very inspiring: starting golf at 76! I turned 70 recently, and although I started golf when I was 35, I dropped it for a number of years and now feel like a complete beginner again (almost)! 87 is awesome, no way I could play to my former h/cap at the moment (16-18), you're doing well! Be interested to see how you progress... Best wishes from Perth, Australia 🏌🏾♂🦘
Watching you and Padraig Harrington has helped out my game a lot. Appreciate the videos you post in the past and today. Your like the modern day Padraig Harrington. You talk about the golf swing in a more modern day golfer way. But, you cover all the same things he speaks about.
Johnathon, I always come back to your golf instruction, after surfing You Tube Golf Instructors! You are so informative and concise in your instruction! Great Job!
Man you just pointed out what I do . #2 . I know I am shifting forward now but I keep hitting behind the ball . When I watch my video I can clearly see that my right shoulder is back . Thank JKM . I will work on it .
Just went out for the first time this season and chunked through the back 9 after a solid front 9. That brought me to your video and it’s the first explanation that has made perfect sense to me for weight distribution. Excellent video and concepts, of course I subscribed for more!
I also often have the problem of hitting the ground first, then the ball. This often happens when I'm focused on the ball, but if I aim my gaze 2 inches from the ball I hit the ball much better, but I'd rather be able to see the ball and still hit well than aiming for a point that's 2 inches from the ball another factor for that is of course my early release.
The driving the hips forward causing the trail shoulder to drop may be exactly what I have been doing wrong. Cant wait to go out and try and work on this concept. Excellent lesson
Why does a seemingly decent swing seem to suddenly "evaporate"? Why do I go from "having an idea about what I'm doing" to suddenly "lost", seemingly with no clue how to swing? Do a video on this. I suspect it's rather common.
Because what is feels like and what happens in reality is different. The key is to keep working on the same drills consistently for a long enough period of time
Great information for the normal player. As disabled golfer that plays from a seated position and has limited hip rotation some of these ideas are more difficult. Any thoughts for a player that uses a SoloRider golf cart when playing? thanks glen
I think I'm guilty of the trail shoulder movement. I hit a few fat yesterday at the indoor range. I live 65 minutes southwest of Toronto, can you recommend someone who teaches S&T within that area?
With your videos I notice that you don't talk about twisting the hips. Is that because shifting your weight and turning correctly is a bi product and the turning happen more naturally or do you still force the hips to turn. In otherworldly, I don't see a violent turn of the hips! Great lessons!
Highly recommend getting a DST training 8 iron to work on getting forward shaft lean thru impact. Joh Rahm uses one as a warm-up tool all the time. Same for Henrik Stenson. Check DST out on RU-vid
Thank you so much for all your videos it really helps me a lot. I always hit and miss and so frustrating. But after watching your early extension video i improved so much and can hit the ball most of the time with much better distance too! Thank you so much!!😊
Very clear video. Does the the lead wrist go into extension post impact? I see coaches having slightly different views on this and am still trying to get to grips with what happens after contact. Thanks for the post.
Hiiii sir... i am your fan. Please told me how to do my left arm straight in the downswing. I try to fix this past before 6 months but i can't. please save me.. My left arm backswing is straight. my right arm downswing is suck! but not i try. or my downswing is casting! but not. my downswing is the same rory... but i try to fix like tiger ... please give me reason . why not my left arm straight in the downswing... 😭
Club lag is key too. There are so many variables that it would take years for the normal person to master this. I’ve only started since February but I’m close to breaking Par. I’ve fished all my life and it has helped me immensely due to knowing your Swing strength. You can use 4 / 6 / 8 / Approach wedge and tilt angles to compensate for the missing clubs. That’s all I use.
