Great video! I’m personally glad you did play Like a Dragon 7 first, though, because I enjoyed playing it alongside you and a couple of others. It’s also a really fun and hilarious game, not diminished by there being a shiny new sequel out now!
This is so true, I bought the whole megaman collection just to play megaman 10 and tried to start from the beginning but the games were so hard I was burnt out from the start because it just felt too time consuming and I never even ended up playing megaman 10 😭
This is actually a great channel with great production value videos which I can still not comprehend why it has such a small subscriber count. It is sencerely baffling. Keep the vids up and I'll support you 💪🏻
All for people watching the original stuff and like... stuff they normally wouldn't be interested in if this new thing they want to see didn't exist. But it's *so* true, almost every entry in a long-spanning series/franchise/whatever either does not require you to watch the older bits and connected entries, OR is really easy to get all the context by asking other fans of stuff or reading wikis. Like, if the new thing you want to experience doesn't make sense without previous entries, some cliff notes might make it so easy to understand or make you interested in experiencing the rest of it out of genuine interest instead of obligation. Win/win in my books I am personally super guilty of going back to a bunch of stuff I had no interest in until a new entry existed, but I'm on the opposite side here where I go back for all that stuff because I have a genuine interest in seeing how things evolved over time. Experiencing something I don't enjoy to see how it turned into something I do enjoy almost always turns me into a massive fan of these big projects
This hit me at a prime moment: not sure how much TOTK you’ve played but there’s an epic musical piece during a big moment that my kids and I just learned has a musical reference to Windwaker, which none of us has played. And I thought to myself, “Ugh if only I had played that first I would’ve really loved this quotation!” But like: I do enjoy it, it’s amazing! And that’s enough!
That’s always been my biggest problem with the MCU. Everything is so connected that it requires you to do homework. Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness makes no sense if you never watch Wanda Vision. The Marvels requires you watch Captain Marvel, Wanda Vision, Ms Marvel, Thor Ragnarok and Love & Thunder, Avengers Endgame, and Secret Invasion to understand it. No wonder that movie bombed.
I took this “no homework” approach when playing Alan Wake 2, and I’m so glad. I couldn’t get into the first one when I tried a few years back. No sense forcing my way through something I didn’t like just to play something I was instantly hooked on!
@@MattHorton If i had a dollar for every time I got jump scared, I could have upgraded to the deluxe edition 😂 but they put out an update AFTER I FINISHED IT that allows you to tone that down in the settings.
I recently went through something very similar with Baldurs Gate 3, always bouncing off CRPGs up to that point. But BG3 ended up enthralling me and teaching me how to play those games. I've now finished BG1&2, Planescape, Fallout, Tyranny and D:OS2
