I was having fish come off with the k9 until I began installing extra snap rings with spro swivels to the hooks. It immediately made a huge difference helping me land more fish . I mostly use my k9 for catching monster Snook where i live.
I only use E and S glass rods for my striper hunting. If you use composites or graphite rods with braid there is too much hook setting power and no "give". Usually you rip hooks right out with zero stretch braided line. You should use mono with those and braid with glass rods. When i hook set the rod absorbs the set with the bend of the softer glass. Some of the best rods at any price for hauling in huge muskies, Pike and even salmon are the ugly Stik Tiger lites, great blend of both worlds😮
I have the same rod!! Im glad you like it, I havent used it yet. What wrap is that on your rod? I love it and would really like to do something similar!
I asked this question in the comments on ur last video. Don’t know if you didn’t see it or was waiting to make a video about it but either way thanks for the advice. Lost one over 8 and another over 5 on the klash9 this weekend and was extremely discouraged. I’ll pick up a 795 and try to go get revenge! Thx again from Murphy,NC
My 1 to 8 ounce 806 barely throws a 250. Theyre way over rated on their powere ratings. Its a fantastic rod though. They just make lighter power rods. I can still lob my deps on my dobyns though.
Thats same rod I use for a lot of baits but yesterday idk why but I was losing em I lost 2 good fish on a wood crankdown only weighs 2oz and some change but I felt I wasn't gettin enough hook penetration with it and the fish where thrashing the bait right off. I was thinking I wasn't setting the hook hard enough but I thought I gave it a good hook set and using Bkk spear 21ss hooks. Which are deadly sharp and work great for my other baits. Any ideas on why that could be or what I may be doing wrong I was also using Nylon leader with braid backing?
This is why I switched to a very parabolic rod that was made to deep crank. The rod folds and seems to help keep em pinned. I've landed fish with a single barb on the rear treble. Before that on stiffer rods I'd be cranking em in and one headshake above the surface and the bait would fly out at 100mph lol
@@shmack916 yea the rod I was using was for big cranks or light swimbaits and was actually to soft. So I was having to set the hook super hard to get the hook in. So i switch to a 806 dobyns and started landing them no problem.
Do you know when you're getting more klash 9's? I checked website and I guess you're out, and is there anyway to be alerted when they're back in stock?
Dobyns, lifetime warranty.... Irod will not honor theirs after 30 days! I broke the tip off a kaimana coastal 2 months into owning it and they wanted me to pay almost retail to replace it. No thanks . Sold everything Irod I had and will never look back.
